A mum has heartbreakingly recalled the traumatic experience of her newborn daughter's Christmas in hospital in Birmingham.
The mum, from Northern Ireland, has seen her new arrival spend the festive period in Birmingham's Children's Hospital.
"We never could have imagined that we’d be spending our first Christmas as a family of six, hundreds of miles apart" she said.
Lacie, from Lisburn, was whisked away and flown to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for emergency treatment.
BelfastLive reports mum Jade Mercer and baby Lacie had just left their local hospital when she began struggling to breathe.
