Salem Police Lt. Debbie Aguilar said the department had made "several arrests," but didn't give the names of those arrested. Salem Police reported protesters have used chemical munitions against them. A yellow smoke canister was thrown at the police, as were lit fireworks. The rallies started peaceful Friday and two sides stayed separate in the first part of the afternoon.
