We have not been let in on the plan, but i think part of what youre seeing is a longer term push, how can they do that . There is a certain amount of covid that we are all experienced with. Were into peoples lives being interrupted by Some degree by what happens. And concerns about children and education. He says im going to talk about that, and we have to see if he gives Something new on that. Something maybe he would like to do and the staff pulls him back. I can tell you from talking to local health officials, all of them are quietly relieved that it is not what they were dealing with, but theyre not pleased the way this Task Force works and they think it needs a little jump start, a refresh, because people are not listening. There is Some recognition privately that perhaps that 3. 5 trillion number will have to be reduced. It is interesting, he made a pledge. Im not going to add to the deficit the way the republicans added to the deaf sis, does that i mean if you take that to the logical conclusion he will support any spending that is paid for and that Sounds like 2 Trillion. Is that where the line is going to be drawn . The house of the Finance Committee dropped a set of proposals how the bill will be paid for. Nothing is set in stone at all. These are things they are discussing and i think the timing is really critical here. It is the day after the oped pointed out exactly what you did. This is their effort to show, look, were not going to add 3 Trillion to the debt. Were going to try to make sure this is paid for and those are conversations that are happening. As an observer here, i have not understood the motivation of holding back the infrastructure bill. You look at it, this president would use a bill signing pretty badly right now. And if the only reaSon this is being held back, then i would say youre never going to get to yes or either of these. I dont know how you get over distrust. I think we will get to yes. People say it is fine building more highways, but you cant just build more highways. There is climate impact. Lets handle it, but to just pass okay, we want new highways and roads, people including Hour House Transportation chair has concerned with that i believe that we will get to yes on both of them. I want to ask you on the larger philoSophy for this bill, you know, even at 3. 5 trillion you dont get to do several on your wish list. You cant just put Someone on a gurney. They have to stretch themselves to the limit. They would have 42 beds just for pediatric patients right now there are 31 of those beds occupied. So there is great concern about how this is going to be handled. As we see the numbers in the state of florida, we have alSo had an exhausted medical staff, doctors and nurses, listen to what the mayor of Palm Beach County had to say. As we have seen here today in florida, the Florida Hospital asSociation reports that there is a deficit of 8,000 nurses in this state. To underscore in Palm Beach County, 87 of the patients in the covid wards are unvaccinated. But it is a weird election taking place in september in an off year, So it would take a while for people to pay attention, and it is suggesting that the poll this week is like you get a case of the whiplash, because it was induced around 9 00 wednesday night, and the up and down narrative is, boy, gavin is in trouble, and democrats are not engage and people are not paying attention, and the recall voters are likely to turn out, and the poll has changed and again, we have to be careful, and we wont say what is going to happen, because we dont know, but it changed the narrative to use the popular word. Look, it did seem as though Soms-campaign'>NewSoms Campaign to use trump the as a bogeyman did not help, but elder did. Well, it is a Mat Per of timing and folks getting more engaged. Donald trump has receded in the Rearview Mirror and still referring to this as the referring to elder as a Trump Republican and it is not as if he has gone away, but the Trump Stuff is baged into the calculation and Larry Elder gave him an opportunity to go after a foil, and Somebody who is out there and to raise the prospect, and people in california dont like donald trump, or at least a lot of them, and he is not going to be the next governor or whatever happens, but a prospect that Larry Elder could be elected governor if the recall passes, but the weird thing about this is that Som'>Gavin NewSom could get 49. 9 of the California Electorate wanting him to stay in office and falls short of 50 and whoever gets the most votes and he could not be on the second half, and whoever gets the most votes and right now he is at 26 of the upci vote, and if we take that to be the final result, we could have a governor elected by 26 of the vote. I mean, a fraction of the fraction of the fraction. So, lets project out, and assume he survives the recall, and stronger or weaker inside of the state, inside of the California Democratic Party . Is this make him look like he has taken a few dings and makes him look gettable or him surviving makes him stronger . I think that, you know, i did a column to this effect. I mean, you can argue that if he barely skates by, he looks weaker, but in california, we dont usually turnout for the incumbents and realistically, and on the supposition that he survives, and if he does, it is really tough to see how any republican beats him. The republicans with theschwarze not won a political office in a couple of decades. So newSom survives and if the republicans cant beat him in these circumstances, it is hard to believe that Anybody Runs and california has no shortage of egos or rich people who believe they should be governor, So will Som'>Gavin NewSom get a democratic challenger . Not unlikely, but will that perSon prevail, and it is tough for a governor be defeated in a democratic state, and this is driven largely by republicans and conservatives and Som'>Gavin NewSom has decent numbers by voters and if you like the guy, why not.
