The Death Toll of afghan civilians from Yesterdays Attack has been revised up from this time last night. At this point, its 170, by some counts. Its nearer to 200 by some other accounts. In any case, its intolerable. The total among u. S. Military servicemembers from the bombing stands at 13 with 18 injured. 11 are united states marines, 1 is a u. S. Navy corps. Man. The individual names of some of the servicemembers who are killed are starting to appear in some media sources. The pentagon is not expected to officially announce the names of all of those killed until this weekend. Until after the notifications of their families have been made. The notifications are expected to include personal calls from President Biden to the families of each servicemember who was killed. Well Expent Pentagon official information to names once the notifications are done. Today here at home, umm, supreme Court Justice Stephen breyer has given an interview to the new york times, he doesnt intend to stay on the Supreme Court until he dies. Conditions are favorable to become a category iii hurricane. It was from this morning. Forecast is now even worse. Its now looking more like a category iv hurricane. Even with those two big stories, really, important stories on the front page. Look at what is their top story above the fold. Dont take horse meds. Thats their main story. Public Health Officer and agricultural commissioner warn against taking Livestock Drug for covid19. Thats the top story today. Even with everything else going on. In lafayette, louisiana. And i have to tell you, some kind of local iteration of that story has run in more than half dozen states in the last few days. In mississippi, a version of that story has been front Page News in multiple papers this week. Weve seen iterations of this same story this week in theres two papers in mississippi where its been front page and iterations of the same story in kansas and missouri and Alabama And Oklahoma and texas and arkansas and florida and tennessee. Those are just ones i happened to pull over the course of the week. Im sure its happening in other states, too but it raises the question of why is it happening now. Why are all over the country but particularly in Red States that are having huge covid surges now, why is this thing happening with Poison Control centers having to come forward saying our calls are about this drug being taken for horses and cows and sheeps. Health officials warning against using this Livestock Drug or antiparasitic drug as if its a covid medicine. Why is this happening everywhere now . Yesterday the cdc put out a national advisory warning the whole country against taking this drug for covid. But also noting that lots of people and lots of states are doing it anyway. The title of the new Cdc Advisory is rapid increase in prescriptions and reports of severe illness associated with use of products containing ier have mick ten to prevent or treat covid19. Most of the new Cdc Advisory is sort of technical detail about what theyre observing about people misusing this drug that is properly used for Deworming Livestock or in the Human Formulation to kill Head Lice or scabies or river blindness, which is caused by a parasite. The new Cdc Advisory ends with specific advice for the public. Be aware that it has not been proven as a way to prevent or treat covid19. Do not swallow products that should be used on the skin. Lotions and creams. Or products that are not meant for human use. Such as veterinarian products. Call the Poison Control hotline if you have taken this and are having symptoms including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, tremors, seizures, a house nations, confusion, loss of coordination, loss of balance, decreased alertness, and coma. Be sure to call if you have taken this drug that doesnt treat covid but could put you in a coma. The new Cdc Warning follows similar warnings from the fda which earlier in the Year Ivermectin is not approved for the treatment of covid19. Theres similarly dire warnings even from the company that makes the drug. Theres no scientific basis for a potential Therapeutic Effect against covid19. Those other warnings and cautions that this drug does nothing to protect you from getting covid or help you get over it, if you have it, those other warnings are months old. They havent had a Deterrent Effect particularly recently. The new Cdc Advisory out late yesterday is explicit about the harm happening now. The rapid increase in negative consequences associated with people misusing this drug. Despite all the warnings out there for a long time that nobody should be dosing themselves with this thing. Hear it again from the Cdc Advisory. Also, this is a good one. An adult drank an injectable Ivermectin Formulation intended for use in cattle in an attempt to prevent covid19 infection. The patient presented to a hospital with confusion, drowsiness, visual hallucinations, rapid breathing, also tremors. The patient recovered after being hospitalized for nine days. Nine days nine days in the hospital. Drinking injectable ivermectin formulated as an injection you shoot into a cow. Why is this happening now . I mean, to the poor individuals described in the Cdc Advisory but in such large numbers . What is going on now to drive it . And put it on the front pages across the country. To have Poison Control centers in texas, oklahoma, arkansas, mississippi, alabama, all of these states coming forward within the past week to say theyre inundated with calls from americans dosing themselves with these meds that dont treat covid19 and that dont prevent it. These meds that are making people sick, and in some cases, putting them in the hospital. It is not that this is just, like, getting covered now. Theres a big upsurge in this happening now. Prepandemic national prescriptions for this drug, ivermectin, has some legitimate uses in humans for a bad infestation of Head Lice or scabies. Prepandemic there were about 3600 Human Prescriptions of this drug per week nationwide. About 3600. Now . According to the cdc for the week ending august 13th. Its not 3600 per week anymore its 88,000 prescriptions per week now. A 24fold increase from the prepandemic baseline for a drug that neither treats nor prevents covid and can make you very sick and potentially kill you. Why is this happening . Interesting story, it turns out. Do you remember this . This was last summer. July 27th, 2020, it looks like a kind of normal bunch. Doctors in white coats standing at the steps of the Supreme Court. Why are they at the Supreme Court . No idea. Its a nice setting. It looks official. Theyre all wearing white coats. The same white coat with a logo on them. Its from Something Called Americas Front Line doctors. It would later emerge the group was convened by conservative activists who wanted to make it seem like then President Trump Wasnt exactly against doctors. Against medicine and against science and continuing bizarre and false statements about covid and how it was going away on its own like magic. Conservative activist groups wanted to make it seem like President Trump Wasnt siding against doctors but different doctors as represented by these folks standing on the steps of the Supreme Court. And with the permit from a Tea Party Group set by an activist group, this group gave their press conference. They announced covid is no big deal. You dont need to wear a mask or stay away. We said covid is no big deal. If you catch it, dont worry, theres a cure, they said. Covid can be cured with a drug which is an antima leerial but dont let the details screw you up. Star speaker that day was this doctor who said i know you people want to talk about a mask, hello. You dont need a mask. There is a cure. Its called Hyde Driving while intoxicated Si Color Win and zinc. President trump retweeted video of that doctors press conference. They arranged for a white Coat Summit of the members of the group to meet with Vice President Mike Pence in person. Youll recall he was the head of the white House Coronavirus Task force. Nbc news reports while shes been released on her own recognizant awaiting trial on the charges, she headlined an antivaccine rally the past weekend in southern california. And now Nbc News, time magazine, and several outlets are reporting what the americas Front Line Doctors Fiasco appears to have morphed into now is a scam. To market horse paste. To market Livestock Deworming and antilice medicine to people who believe, that for some reason, they shouldnt take the Covid Vaccine. To people who believe there is a Cure For Covid. It fills prescriptions from an online pharmacy that americas Front Line doctors advertises as a partner, which provides the option to have that prescription delivered right to your door on the same day. On the americas Front Line doctors website. People looking for Covid19 Medicine are told to click on a button labelled contact a physician. They pay 90 for a consultation. It takes customers to the website and theyre asked to submit Payment Information and told one of the Front Line doctors will call them within a few days. The group describes it as a Tele Medicine Service with hundreds of physicians trained by americas Front Line doctors. Its something called encore Tele Medicine. Since 2015, it appears to have been run out of a home near a Golf Club in suburban georgia. The orders made go to pharmacy in florida whose address listed online appears to be a white structure near a strip mall. They were supposed to mail the medicine or call it into a local pharmacy. The cost of the medicine is applied on top of the consultation fee. It varies widely from 70 from the medicine to 700, according to Customer Comments from americas Front Line doctors customers. Its not clear how much they get from each patient referral, the service is marketed on the Doctors Group Website for 90. But if you go direct for Tele Medicine consultation, the consultation is charged to just 60. A 30 difference. Americas Front Line doctors declined on comment on whether they receive in financial benefit from the referral. The grown has been using this system to sell the meds since last fall. Theyve also driven so much of a demand for it that aside from trying to talk doctors into prescribing it or finding doctors who will prescribe it, people are taking matters into their own hands. Trying to source themselves without their prescription. Trying to source it at the local Feed Store in a Veterinarian Formulation if you cant get by someone to give you the Human Formulation. This is in mississippi. Coast Line Home and Garden Supply in Gulf Port Cant keep ivermectin on their shelves. They have a difficult time finding the product because local suppliers are out. When we get it, its sold out almost immediately. Every time we try to order it, its back ordered. All of my suppliers are running out. Feed Sack Farm and Garden Story in mississippi also cannot keep supply on their shelves, according to a manager who said theyve had trouble buying the drug from suppliers. Interest in that story began about three weeks ago. They want it to be on the safe side in the long rough but i dont recommend it because we sell it for dogs and horses and cattle, said the manager. I warn them they dont need to be taking it for personal use. In the back of my mind, i know what theyre using it for, the manager said. Courtney, theres been a lot of discussion in recent weeks as to whether or not the u. S. Would maintain Offensive Kacht in afghanistan after the withdrawal of u. S. Troops. President biden has spoken confidently about over the Horizon Counter Terrorism capability to strike Counter Terrorism to strike Terrorist Targets at americas choosing. At a time and place of our choosing. What do we know about the over the Horizon Nature of the attack. You describe it as an Drone Strike. Is this the sort of thing that could have been done with no u. S. Troops inside afghanistan or is this the sort of Drone Strike for which it mattered there was u. S. Troops on the ground . So, this was part of that across the Horizon Pension you mentioned or over the Horizon Pension. Its basically what it will look like is the u. S. Will have a number of Air Assets largely unmanned. So drones that will be parked in a couple of neighboring areas. When they have there was a u. S. Military presence in the country now. About 5400 troops at Kabul Airport. Theyre not really gathering intelligence in the same way that the u. S. Or the u. S. Even 2500 troops in there only a month or two before the Draw Down was completed. The troops were at Kabul Airport they were focussed on one mission and thats the evacuation and maintaining security around the airport. People may be surprised to know that prior to the Draw Down, which the u. S. Still had a presence, more of a larger presence in afghanistan, they shared a Lot Intelligence with the afghans and the afghans provided a lot of intelligence on groups like isisk. Thats one of the things that will be lost in the loss of the Military Presence and the taliban takeover. The afghan military no longer exists for the intents and purposes. The u. S. No longer has them as a partner. Now the u. S. Will have to rely on and they wont have the Human Intelligence sources they had on the ground. Now the u. S. Has to rely on overheld. Signals intelligences that intercept. Satellite constellation. You know, they had the ability to get things from overhead. Its nowhere near the same picture they used to have. I guess the short way of saying it is they still have eyes on but the picture is much blurrier than it was six months or even a year ago. Courtney, are we expecting this, again, what youre describing as a Drone Strike on a vehicle carrying a man said to be an Isisk Planner involved in planning for future attacks.
