Massive power grabby democrats. It would disenfranchise millions of americans. And it would do precisely the opposite of its nominal title for the people. It is instead for the politicians. Because it entrenches politicians and people cannot vote them out of office. It would strike down every reasonable Voter Integrity Law in the country. That isnt true. A Police Reform Bill is floating in limbo for months. While he might cry that the bills are not for the people and we know what people he is referring to census numbers released this week beg to differ. The u. S. Population is diversifying. The white Majority Shrinking for the first time in american history. Lets talk about it. Joining me now former Florida Congressman and political analysis Carlos Carvalo and my friend angela rye. Congressman, happy to have you back on the show. Im really interested in the perspective on this because i think as we maneuver through Capitol Hill i have covered politics for over 20 years now. I dont recall this pressure to be bipartisan when republicans controlled congress. Has that been your experience and why do you think theres such a push to be bipartisan with people clearly still remain faithful to the Maga Crowd . Theres always a group of members in congress who believe in bipartisanship. Theyre usually swing District Mr. Ens and democrats, Swing State republicans and democrats and the reason a lot of times that these members dont get attention or dont hear about the efforts is because the congress is rarely evenly divided enough for them to be a major factor. Thats obviously not the case in the senate right now. The senate is divided 50 50 with democrats with a tiebreaking vote in Vice President harris but senators like Sinema And Manchin and republicans like come listens and romney do have a lot of influence and say in a senate thats so evenly divided so thats why you hear so much about it these days because a small number of senators or House Members in this case can make a big difference. But the question is will you prioritize bipartisanship over the people . Who wins and who loses . It is clear that the people will always lose on that side. As soon as the former congressman was just talking i thought about the moment, the first time on the House Floor working on the hill and i remember Rahm Emanuel going up behind Congressman Clyburn when he was the Majority Whip when democrats took over the last time in 2011 and i remember Rahm Emanuel saying to this member of congress, it was Congressman Carney at the time. He came up right after Congressman Clyburns team whipping the votes to be in alignment, the votes for the democratic member to vote today and he said you vote your conscious. You vote your conscious and so shook by that because that was that the historic nature of Congressman Clyburn and the undermining, blatantly of this Black Man in congressional leadership. Why am i bringing that up right now . What we have seen from the democratic party for months now in this congress and of course before is that theres always this bending to the will of people who are republican light. What that means is the people that look like All Of Us on this Panel Today often go with the needs critically unmet and then we have to rely on the courts. We know the current state of the courts even the highest court of the land so the biggest losers are the people who have the most to gain from the political process because they condition find the power anywhere else and we need to stand together and count on the people we thought we were voting for and thats what i think has to shift in the congress to get the needs met. Yeah. It is honestly very frustrating. Congressman, i know you still talk to republicans on Capitol Hill. I take your point what you were saying about bipartisanship and the few senators get a lot of attention but when bipartisanship does sacrifice people who look like You And Me and angela, should that be the priority particularly when a lot of folks are sympathizers to liars . This isnt new. Where are you on that . Tiffany, i think this is a good point. Bipartisan Shouldnt Bipartisanship Shouldnt be an end but a means to good, durable policy. Thats the point a lot of these senators were making coming together for this infrastructure deal. Policy that is made on a Bipartisanship Basis tends to be durable. It tends to outlast efforts to undo it or veto extinguish entirely. A great example of when i was in congress. At The End of 2018 congress passed the first Step Act and obviously that benefited a lot of people, people of color, people who were languishing in prison needlessly for years and those reforms really made life better for those people and i think made us a better country and because it was done in a bipartisan manner it is not attacked again and No One challenged the act. You take legislation like the affordable care act, for example, the republican Tax Cuts of 2017 done by one party alone and guess what. Those policies constantly under attack. Thats the theory that a lot of lawmakers that support Bipartisanship Hold on to. Angela, i know you want to get in here. The first Step Act is because the second act needed introduced by the collins act. So angela, go ahead and then talk about Cory Booker with you because you have thoughts on that but go ahead. Really quickly. The first act is most of the policies were folks were trying under the Obama Administration to get that passed so i would hate to see credit given when it should have been given somewhere else. There are a number of things to happen in the first Step Act that did not happen and unfortunately people see Health Care as a privilege in this country and not a right and thats the issue with the affordable care act. Absolutely. I want you to take a listen. The first act dealt with Police Reform within the criminal justice system. This is something thats essentially dead right now on Capitol Hill. Take a listen to Cory Booker in his effort to troll republicans and then your reaction on the other side. Theres some people who have said theyre members of this body to defund the police to my horror an ennow this senator has given us a gift to put to bed this accusation that somebody in this great esteemed body would want to defund the police. So lets All Of Us 100 people not walk but sashay down there and vote for the amendment and put to rest the lies that i am sure ill see no political astds attacking anybody here to defund the police and ask unanimous consent. Add that every senator here wants to defund the police, believes in god, Country And Apple pie . Angela, your thoughts . Man. You know, i think that we are in such a divided country that this kind of thing doesnt feel satirical at all. It feels like what is required of democrats to just win not even the base. The folks on the fringes. There is a pole that terrance Woodburys Firm did on where Black Folks stand on defending the police. The principle is being able to reimagine a system that actually protects and serves everyone. Every single person that pays the salaries of public officials including law enforcement. Thats the truth and what we should be saying on the senate floor. I understand that cory was using satire. The problem is black people dying and our ability to live and thrive in this country is not satirical at all. We need to be pushing towards at least considering the George Floyd Justice in policing act a bill that cory coauthored with Kamala Harris when she was still in the senate and not considered. I understand there are negotiations going on and wonder how much longer. Every minute is another minute of another black child, another black person literally in the hands of the police. Police violence is a human Rights Issue in this country and we dont have time for satire. There is no time for games. Unfortunately he is right. The republicans have used this slogan to target all kinds of people who are vulnerable in the senate and the house. Still there are people who are more vulnerable because their lives are at risk. Thats the risk. Congressman, i know you want to Hop Back in here. My friend at the root brought up a good point talking to bipartisanship and he was responding to Senator Sinema saying we have more to lose than gain by getting rid of the filibuster. Michael harriet asked who the F Word are we . Instead of reimagining policies. So congressman, what is your thought there . Tiffany, the point i made earlier about how we want the policy changes to be durable. We want to be long lasting. We dont want one part to pass ambitious Policy Reforms and then another party come in and sweep it all away. So what senators like Sinema And Manchin and romney, collins, what they work on every day is meaningful change. It will get us closer to the goal and more importantly durable. So what i think we need for Police Reform which is urgently needed obviously is for senators like portman and Sinema And Manchin that showed so much Resolve And Perseverance to get infrastructure done and get involved to push republicans and democrats to get something across the fannish line. If we get rid of the filibuster that means that when republicans get back in power they will some day. I dont know if its if two years or four years or ten years then the policies all of a sudden are at risk. Were way over time. You have to come back. I want to point out no people of color when negotiating the Infrastructure Bill. A huge oversight. You know i have a lot of questions for you. Angela, thank you for joining us. A magnitude 7. 2 earthquake struck haiti this morning. There have been no casualties reported as of now but you remember haiti experienced an earthquake in 2010 that killed more than 220,000 people. Jacklyn charles for the Miami Herald joins me now. Can you hear me, yes. I can hear you. Ok images of homes that have been collapsed. A historical cathedral. I spoke with the Prime Ministers office tofd. Theyre trying to get an assessment. This is a region of the country Cut Off from the capital of haiti because of armed Gang Fighting so accessing this region thats been hit is talking about the south, the southwest. The western part is difficult and takes time to get an idea of the extent of the damage and initially placed at 7. 2 and higher than recorded in 2010 when portauprince was partially destroyed. This is so scary because time is something that the country doesnt have. The latest reporting is that a Tsunami Threat has now been issued for the region according to the u. S. Tsunami warning system. Any details on that and how much time people have to they can . Exactly. When we talk about the major hi is a coastal city. I received reports where they felt it so their dont have time and talking about an area very close to the water so this is very troubling right now. And dealing with haiti quite frankly the government already in turmoil before the earthquake struck. Gangs have taken over a lot of areas. Is there a Government Infrastructure that can start responding to this immediately and if not have there been reporting of foreign aid on the globe . There is a Government Infrastructure in place why the Countrys President assassinated on july 7th. That investigation is ongoing and a Prime Minister in place. Dr. Henry who happens to be a physician who was one of the key people on the ground in 2010. So he has the experience and activated the emergency response team. Hes been on the ground in terms of major disasters there and the u. N. Firs choppers to get people back and Forth T of the regions of the country to respond to whats happening. We have not heard a response from the u. S. Government. I think everybody right now trying to figure out what are we dealing with . As you continue to find out please keep us posted. We are happy to have you back. More Breaking News in afghanistan, taliban has now reclaimed control of a majority of the country with surprising speed as the u. S. Military withdraws. Most major cities are back under taliban control with the exception of kabul. That is also expected to fall soon. Nbc news Foreign Correspondent Kelly Cobiella is there. Reporter theres reports of heavy fighting to the south of the capital. About 20 miles away. Theres also a report of some fighting still ongoing in logar about 50 miles from the capital. We understand an afghan Government Brigade is still fighting with the taliban trying to maintain control of the capital of that province. Theres also some fighting reported in the big city in the north, the last large city in the north to be held by Government Forces. The forces, the u. S. Forces who have been sent in to the city in order to facilitate the evacuation of embassy staff, the first of them are on the ground. The first 3,000 should be here by The End of the weekend. The question is how will the Evacuation Process take place . We havent gotten details from Defense Officials how to do this. The airport is about two miles from the embassy but it is a wide road and a straight shot to the airport from the embassy. The question is, can they move quickly up and down that road given the Crisis Situation developing in the country with thousands of people coming into the capital looking for safety and a way out. The united nations and Aid Agencies warned of an escalating human tarp crisis. We spoke with an interpreter who left the Home City a couple of days ago, very worried about his safety because of threats from the taliban because he worked with nato forces and homeless. He showed me pictures of the home which was completely destroyed so those are the kind of situations here on the ground. In addition to all this the president , the afghan president addressed the Country Today saying he will do everything he can to stop the Violence And Spoeg with a taliban commander, Nbc News speaking directly with him, a commander on the ground in this country who said that hes aware of u. S. Forces back on the ground. The taliban as a whole is aware of that and if the u. S. Tries Something Theyll be treated the same way the taliban treated afghan forces. After 3,000 u. S. Troops on the ground and when president ghani spoke its after being mostly silent. Thank you so much for that report. It is back to school too many for many but get school too many for the lawmakers in the Sun Belt and beyond who continue to rebuff lodge ek, leadership, Law And Life apparently. Not only refusing to institute Mask Mandates but pushing educators that try to provide themselves and students. Some School Board meetings are the jerry springer show. While all of this craziness is happening hanging in the balance millions of students, parents ickes educators and staff simply trying to create a safe Learning Environment for kids. Joining me is one of the parents and one of those teachers. Katie Fang Cohost of Money Court and mom to charlotte about to start the first grade in person in Florida And Lakeisha patterson who teaches Third Grade Reading at deepwater, texas, and a mom to boot. Katie, this is ensane what were seeing. My heart goes out to you. You live in florida with Governor Superpredder as Michael Share yet calls him. Put your legal hat on for me and tell me what can people do coming to some of the lawsuits that are happening between School Boards, teachers, parents and the governors. We have very brave parents who want only the best for the children that have gone to the Court System to say enough is enough. We need to be able to have a Mask Mandate for the students that go to school. Remember the vaccine is only available for kids that are 12 and older. So particularly vulnerable children less than 12 years of age and kids like moon not a medical vulnerable child not dont have a Mask Mandate because of governors like ron desantis. You have to consider if you dont care about my feelings as a mom or a lawyer you should care about the evidence and the numbers and the numbers are startling bad. Theres a 550 increase in pediatric covid cases in a month here in florida. There are no Pediatric Icu beds available in Broward County. Second day of Class Tiffany 440 students have been sent home to quarantine. 108 of which actually are students. Right . Excuse me. 134 cases of covid. 108 of which are students and 26 are employees. We have a very serious problem here. It is not the kids. There were two teachers and a Teaching Assistant whom died within 36 hours in Broward County and schools not started yet there. Why is my child a Talking Point for the gop . My child should not be politicized to gain voters like desantis said. He said im speaking to the parptss who should have the choice. I invite him again to put his own kids in a place where the Delta Variant is running rampant and people are not vaccinated. It is not just children but the teachers, the administrators and you know what . If you do this we expose my child then you know what . I dont know if i can take my kid to school but can we afford to Home School the kids . There is no remote Learning Alternative provided to Public School students right now. I apologize for getting emotional about this but what can i do . You speak for parents. This is ridiculous. Most of the guys are vaccinated. Ted cruz whos another outspoken person on this. The kids go to a school where masks are mandatory. It is crazy. Let me turn to you. You are a teacher of third grade. Last year i understand that your classroom is hybrid and so some of the students came for part of the week. Did you have an issue with students showing up maskless . How do you feel texas is prepared to face this growing pandemic . Thank you. I did have students who we had a Mask Mandate in place so students were not allowed to not wear the masks. We have protocols in place to help prevent and mitigate the spread so it seems like things that we used last year that helped to slow the spread of covid have been taken away completely seeing the Delta Variant impacting hundreds of students. Children. Who are going to be in my classroom under the age of 12 who are not el viable to receive the vaccination. And so we are not prepared. This is all to the governor whos not taking this seriously. He is not looking at this as a humanity issue. This is a political issue. He is using this to basically cater to those voters who he thinks will help him win the reelection in 2024. Its really disturbing. When you look at the numbers you see that only 49 of texans are fully vaccinated so as you said im going to be in a classroom with students by no choice of their own are unvaccinated. Coworkers around me unvaccinated. And thats concerning. As a parent and an educator. Absolutely. You think about the educators and the Education Support professionals. The School Bus drivers, the cafeteria workers, typically older americans and the kids are too young to be vaccinated. This is scary predicament and will keep our eye on the stoish and thank you so much. Good luck to you both as you navigate this. Coming up, are black republicans the future of the gop . Meanwhile conservative Talk Radio Host and trump Supporters Larry Elder leads in the raiders to recall California Governor newsom. Joining me is Michael Steele and also back with me is the queen of keeping the real angela rye. I have you both on the screen to get into this. Michael, i dont believe for one minute that the gop is having a real effort to get black people attracted to this party. I think they find people who conservative white folks are comfortable with and parade them out saying were not racist. Look at this nice Black Folk with the mega donors. You are a republican and the realist most normal republican i know. What is your thought . I think theres a lot of truth to that. Its a struggle for well over 40 years now where you have a bifurcated approach to make the outreach which is a term i banned as chairman because it meant nothing because we hind it is nothing. Theres a Photoop And Cocktail sausages and about it. What i said to the Party Leadership when i was chairman was dont look at me as some pied pipe we are a Black Man in the chair that the Black Folks show up. You have to do the work and that work begins with spending time in the community to understand what makes us mad, happy, what are we fearing and concerned about. What are the issues driving the black economy . What are the Issues Driving Black Culture . Dont say you must be conservative going to Church On Sunday and prolife. It is much more complicated but they want the easy fix. So to the extent that they can get folks who will go out and say certain things thats good. But notice what happens when its time to put the metal to the pedal and get the work done. People are not so sure. It takes time. So youre not serious. And thats what the black community takes away from that. Yeah. I think somebody in the republican party is trying to call you right now. Yeah. Right, right. Angela, im so offended by this story. It is not the party but the policy and the fact of the matter is racists long felt at home in the republican party. Tim scott parading for the mega donors im not buying it. Im sure you cant either. I wish that i could say ive seen behavior from Tim Scott that exhibits something different. Only a pat on the back for the fact that his Senate Office is the most diverse on the republican side of the aisle but what frightens me is that Tim Scott believes the words coming out of his mouth and demonstrated through policies that that is what hell do. We know as part of the notions on Police Reform he is adamantly opposed to ending qualified immunity which we know civilly Police Officers hide behind so tim Scott Isnt just collecting attaboys but he believes the policies that he pushes and time to get rid of this kind of silly posture that separate us and divide us. Weapons do. Breaking windows do. Putting the colleagues at risk in both cham bores is an affront. This is about dangerous rhetoric and not saying something different to stand up in the face of all of what is happening to say this is wrong and as a Black Man in this country with the ancestors who i have and terrorized for Centuries America was built on a platform of racism and time to stop being the guide to push us down the road. A reminder as a wise woman once said we built this country for free. So i cannot agree with you more. He does have a black woman of Chief Of Staff whos lovely but the policy not the party. But you are a resident of california. Plez Tell Me California is not about to let Larry Elder become governor elder. Im a recognize department of Washington State but this is crazy to me. We start seeing the things. We were talking about at the top of the show where democrats will compromise even their base, the very needs of their base and then people like this who go in the Polar Opposite direction to say two grown adults can determine what the other person is paid as if he has no understanding of the powerful and the powerless. He doesnt believe in womans choice, doesnt believe that woman have ever hit a class ceiling. This is a Black Man whos prayed for but willing to trade Everyone And Everything for the sake of his own advancement. I dont see him that different from Tim Scott. The difference is just slight. Maybe its because tim is in South Carolina saying things nicer. Theres no distoirks in the policies and the support of donald trump. Michael, i know you wanted to get in on this. We are way orr time. You have to come back. I love sparring with you. Thank you so much for joining me. Im really excited to talk about this story. Theres cases of suspected lynching in mississippi. From 1877 to 1950 a period of less than 100 years lynch mobs of white people sooking to uphold racial segregation murdered more than 4,000 Black Americans across the south. According to the equal Justice Initiative why the state with the most lynchings was mississippi. While the last official recorded lynching in the u. S. Is 40 years ago the Washington Post reported this week according to Court Records and police reports that since 2000 there have been at least eight suspected lynchings of black men and teenagers in mississippi. Joining me is reporter that wrote this piece, denine brown. Thank you for being here. This story went viral. I think people were surprised that this thing still happened and it brought up generational trauma for the community and what we have experienced so there are people who might say well how do we know these arent suicides . Is there any reason to believe that these were suicides . Yeah. So as you said since 2000 at least eight black men and children found hanging in trees. A civil Rights Attorney investigating the cases says that theres a pattern here. So she says often police arrive at the scene of the hangings. The hangings immediately as a suicide. The scenes are not preserved. Of the investigations according to families are not thorough and the cases are often never heard again unless somebody brings them up. So the families in each of these cases have raised legitimate questions about what happened to their loved so, for example, in the Willy Jones who was found in 2018, he was found hanging from a Pecan Tree in the yard of his white Girlfriends House in mississippi. Just minutes before he was found hanging, there was an argument with the stepfather of his girlfriend who had threatened him. And he was found with a belt around his neck that did not belong to him. And also, his family said that his right arm was disabled. He couldnt lift his right arm above his head, so it was impossible that he could have hung himself, according to his family. Right. And some of the other things that you point out in your reporting, there was grass found in his hair, grass found in his wallet. How would that have got therein . There was clearly a argument and dispute. Some of the time license dont add up. These are all things very familiar. I do want to point out you did reach out to the doj about this and i want to at least read their response when asked by a reporter whether the Doj Or Fbi was investigating the death Of Jones and at least seven other black men found hangsing in mississippi a spokesperson responded we were aware of all the matters and reviewed them all. We have no further comment. Not a lot of information. There was a lot of stone walling. You know, i think this is something thats so interesting as well because there was this case that you revisit in your reporting where ten white teenagers essentially beat a man to death. They ran over him with his car and why this is so poignant when you look at pictures of lynchings, this was a family affair. White women brought their children. There were families there having lemonade and watching somebody get mutilated and burned to death. So the fact that these children who witnessed this are still alive in mississippi, its a head scratcher. Yeah. In that case, that was the case in 2011 of Craig Anderson who was fatally beaten and attacked by white teenagers who were hunting for black people. They said that they were actually hunting for black people. The federal judge in that case during one of the sentencing hearings said that this case evoked mississippis very disturbing, disturbing legacy of lynching. So, yes. There is the state is very haunted by its past horrors of racial terror lynchings. And as you said in your opening, mississippi had the most lynchings in u. S. History. So, its disturbing for many of the black families when they find black men, black teenagers hanging from trees. They immediately think lynching. And the fact that the Police Offer or the Police Force on the scene with the case that you write about, they made this assessment within 45 minutes. Cindy hyde smith, a senator from mississippi, something equally disturbing, she made a Lynching Joke when she was running for senate. And still was able to win her seat, which was quite disturbing. One of the men you write about was hanged with a Dog Chain as a noose. That doesnt seem like something that someone would use to hang themselves with even though the psychology of harming yourself but that seems very strange to me. Right. The family in that case say that there are a lot of unanswered questions. Families are raising legitimate questions, yes, his name was nick taylor. He was 23. He was found in 2003 with his own Dogs Chain wrapped around his neck. So, yeah, it raises a lot of questions. There are other cases that i listed, Roy Veal was found in 2004 and recently returned to mississippi to fight for his familys land. Ottis bird found with a Bed Sheet wrapped around his neck. Phillip carol, found in 2017, the neighbor who showed police where the body was remembered that his hands had been tied but later police said that there was no evidence that his hands had been tied. So there are a lot of questions that Family Say are unanswered in these cases. And theyre really seeking answers. Yeah. And look, eight White Women were found hanging from trees, it would be Breaking News across all three networks, i think. Thank you so much for bringing these stories to the investigate. Perfect because were building a better network every single day. Okay. Welcome back, everybody to the Cross Connection. We begin this hour with the latest on the Breaking News in haiti. A magnitude 7. 2 earthquake struck off the western coast of the country this morning leaving residents rushing into the streets in fear. Right now, a Tsunami Warning has been issued for the island. And there have been no casualties reported as of now, images obtained this morning and through Social Media Show Homes and churches reduced to rubble. Haiti is unfortunately no stranger to earthquakes. You guys remember the devastating earthquake that took place in 2010 that killed more than 220,000 people. Joining me now is meteorologist janessa webb. This is so devastating. What is most concerning right now is this threat of a tsunami. Where does that stand . Were still dealing with that for the coastline of haiti, but you know, to me this is really going to be an international and national level of response. Were just starting with the cleanup and where things are happening across this Area And Water is still filtering in that area. U. S. G. S. No reports of threats for tsunamis across the u. S. , but still for the coastline where we could see up to 10 feet of water. So, this is definitely a fluid situation. And what i want to say is weve been seeing multiple aftershocks. So we had the big quake of 7. 2, but just in the last Half Hour another Magnitude Earthquake of 5. 2. And thats really going to continue throughout the day. So thats going to heighten the Tsunami Threat and then make things even more impossible to really clean up. So, as you said, in 2010 we had that big earthquake, definitely caused a ton of casualties. So were just going to continue to wait throughout the day to find out more about that. On top of that, we have a huge problem with the weather that is not going to cooperate in this area. I do expect tropical Storm Warnings to go into place this Afternoon Or Tomorrow for the haiti area. We have a tropical Storm System that developed overnight and it continues to gain strength. Right now we do have sustained winds of 45 miles per hour. Theres that West Movement of 23 miles per hour. So, what the problem is that this entire Storm System is expected to go over haiti. So you just had that earthquake. Now a tropical system thats going to produce very gusty winds over 60 to 70 miles per hour expected as we go into monday and tuesday. On top of that, forecasting right now 10 to 12 inches of rain. So, this is very important. We find people and we understand that this tropical system thats on the way, because you know, potentially it will stall out in this area and it will be prolonged moisture across haiti. So, we have a lot to get to, but we definitely need our public officials, as i said, this will be a national and an international response as they try to get things cleaned up before a tropical system heads that way. Tiffany . Janessa, let me ask you and forgive my ignorance here i am keeping the eye on the Tsunami Threat. Given there are multiple aftershocks like you just reported, how much time or warning will the people of haiti have should a Tsunami Strike . Essentially they have a warning now but how much time will they have before its imminent . So the sirens definitely go off right away once the earthquake went off, but at least an hour in between hopefully before Water Levels really start to rise. It could happen quicker. We dont know the Wave Strength right now of what that tropical system is providing in that area. But i do expect at least an hour in advance to see the high waves make their way in that area. The problem is with these aftershocks, that could come sooner. You know, with the 5. 2, that really just doesnt help things. Wow. This is quite scary. Dont go far, janessa, i may bring you back in this conversation. Stick around. I do want to bring back with me haiti correspondent for the miami harold, jacqulynn charles. She was with us last hour. Jacqulynn, thanks so much for joining us this hour. Look, haiti is home to 11 Million people. We have to remember as janessa was just telling us with the tropical Weather And Rain headed that way they were also impacted in 2016 by hurricane matthew. Here these people are dealing with this crisis yet again. Do you have any updates on casualties, people, have you spoken to anybody there on ground who can say whats happening as we speak . Yeah. Ive spoken to people on the ground. Again, people are trapped underneath buildings but we dont have a sense of casualties were talking about. Theyre still trying to mobilize and get the assessment. This is an area that you said was struck by matthew but its also been an area Cut Off from the capital. So accessing it is going to be a major issue. Theyre going to have to use choppers and possibly planes to get there because the roadways have basically been Cut Off because of gangs. Gang fighting in the area which forced the displacement of 16,000 haitians since june 1st. And this tropical storm thats coming is not going to be helping matters. I think right now were also hearing that hospitals are full. In one region they cannot accept any more patients because of the injuries and people who have been brought in seeking help. And there are people, according to some of the reporting, that are stuck as we speak under rubble. So, when you say its going to take choppers and hospitals that are already full, i mean, what can be their response . Are people even able to get air lifted out of the island if they go further inland . Does that help, especially for folks who dont have a good sense of the geography of the country . No. The response will have to be there on the ground in the region. Theyre going to bring in doctors, bring in whatever sort of assistance that they have. We have unconfirmed reports that one hospital has collapsed in that area. This is an area that was already struggling in terms of medical assistance, you know, theres a Covid Pandemic that is happening. So this really was the last thing that haiti needs. And theres just not going to be the ability to fly people out. Theyre going to have to be treated there on site. And Phone Lines are actually down in haiti, obviously, after this level of earthquake hit. And with the aftershocks happening, i imagine that the devastation is almost unsurmountment. So jacqulynn, this is such a devastating occurrence for the 11 Million people in this country already in the political throes of violence and gangs that you talked about. We will keep our eye on this for the rest of the hour. So again, please dont go far. And we want to shift now to more Breaking News. This time its out of afghanistan where the taliban has reclaimed a startling swath of the region and is closing in on kabul. Prompting an advanced team of marines to assist in the military evacuation of the u. S. Embassy. Meanwhile, the afghan president addressed the nation for the first time in days through a prerecorded statement saying hes Remobilizing The Afghan National Security Forces instead of resigning as the taliban demanded. Here to help me bring all of this into perspective is msnbc and my pal Ali Velshi. Ali, i have to tell you, this is just devastating in afghanistan. The United States, this was a 20year investment, 83 Billion investment and people are saying that the people in afghanistan are lacking the political will to fight the taliban. But is that true . Or is it that they literally cannot topple an organization like the taliban . Its more complicated than that statement. What the president of afghanistan has said is theyre activating their forces. The americans trained 350,000 people to fight the taliban. So, you would hope you would be seeing more success than youre seeing right now. Let me give you a picture of it all right. This is kabul, the capitol right here. This is all afghanistan. The orange area is stuff thats taliban controlled. The beige is contested. The white is government. So you can see theres very little government control. Now on this side, this is all iran over here. This is all the former soviet Central Asian republics over here and this is pakistan over here and in this little mountainous area is china. You have afghanistan the middle of all this. The taliban was strongest in the south. Kandahar was actually their capital. But at the beginning of august the only capital they controlled was zaranj. The taliban was always strong in rural areas but these are all capitals they got. Theres few they dont have right now. Mazari sahrif. They have taliban right around them. Now, what the u. S. Has done is it sent 2,500, 3,000 marines back to kabul to control the embassy and the road from the embassy to the airport and the airport. While those marines are there, the taliban are probably not going to go at them. But at some point, once americans and allies are evacuated, the taliban gives that or the americans leave, at that point given the advances the taliban have been making we can expect they may take over kabul. Thats what everybody is expecting to happen. At some point, afghanistan does have a government and they do have a military, but they seem to be powerless to fight the taliban at the moment. And theres reporting saying that some people that the u. S. Trained have been throwing down their weapons and fighting with the taliban and even then you wonder, is this political ideology or is this rather fight with them than be killed by them. It could be both. In a lot of these capitals theyve done it without a Shot Being fired. They gone in and made some deal. Theres a lot of corruption in afghanistan. The governor who was a Government Governor may say ill be a taliban governor. Thats happening in some places. Theyre not actually fighting a full war in order to get some of these places. Thats the difference with kabul. They will actually have to fight somebody to take control over kabul and that will be a battle which is why its not likely to happen today because well know its happening but thats exactly right. There are we have material, we have arms that weve given the Government Forces and now they are falling into the hands of the taliban, which by the way, is what happened the last time when the afghans kicked out the russians. They did so with american arms and things like that. So, this has been a place that has been fought over for generations and clearly after 20 years in afghanistan we havent fixed that problem. Yeah. Essentially i started my career during the kazai days covering afghanistan. This is a Twodecade Investment by the United States. I am interested in the Humanity Perspective of this story. So many people in afghanistan who were allies to the United States. So do you have any idea on whats going to happen with these civs, special immigration visas, who were allies now in imminent danger of facing retaliation by the taliban . The very specific part of that while we have been working through the special Immigrant Visas People Translators and helpers you have to get your visa in kabul. Cant go to the american embassy anymore. Theyre clearing it out. If youre not kabul right now become a Refugee City you cant get there. Thats what kabul looks like right now. So thats a problem. What about everybody else, tiffany, women and children suffered the most under the taliban, its reported that in places the taliban control theyre literally going Door To door, snatching little girls from their families. The taliban is not never been good for women and children and that is one of the things that at least in the last 20 years there were some advances in Civil Society and the Protection And Education of women and girls. That is one very, very big fear that that is going to already started to disappear around afghanistan and if once the whole country falls to the taliban, the future of women in that country is very, very bleak. And scary. There are little girls now who have been interviewed who say they cant go to school because the taliban says thats bad. Let me ask you before i let you go, ali, i think a lot of people are confused about this situation. Not everybody wakes up and reads the minutia of news. But people dont understand how we got here. So, the biden administration saying, look, theres no good choice here. President trump made this deal with the taliban. Explain essentially was this the best move by the biden administration . Like what essentially were they facing that put the country in this situation . Well, i think you identified a lot in there. First of all, there are a lot of people who disagree about why we were in afghanistan in the first place. Was not a nationbuilding exercise. Afghanistan had been run by the taliban. They gave quarter to Al Qaeda. And it became a place against which attacks in the west were based. So that was why america went in to afghanistan to defeat Al Qaeda and to punish the taliban for giving them space. We were never there to nation build. But over the years in trying to install governments, we tried to contribute to Civil Society and that has failed. Now, i will say, its not like nothing happened in 20 years. There were governments. There are governments in afghanistan. There are schools. There is infrastructure. Things were built. But what i think everybody underestimated and a good reading of history in this part of the world, The Great Game where afghanistan is central to all these colonial powers will tell you, no colonial power, no foreign power has ever been able to control these areas. It is mountainous, it is harsh and the taliban i think it was just a myth that the taliban had been extinguished. They were always there just in smaller places and youre right, we are not fantastic at nation building. We hope the american example is something that other countries will take up on. A lot of countries dont. Theyre not interested. But we can get dictators out. We can get people out of power. We are not really good at figuring out how to build infrastructure for countries. This was an effort that was under way for 20 years and its unbelievable to see how quickly it can be distinguished. The fear, the deep fear. The women and children. They have nowhere to go. Right. I think sometimes in discussing the policy of all this, the humanity of it gets lost. Its interesting this is happening just a month shy of the 20th anniversary of 9 11, ali. Thanks so much for sticking around, my friend. Dont go far because we may call you back as this continues to unfold. So thanks, ali. No problem. Dont go anywhere at home. Coming up, r. Im from colorado. Ive been married to my high School Sweetheart for 35 years. Im a mother of four always busy. I was starting to feel a little foggy. Just didnt feel like things were as sharp as i knew they once were. I heard about prevagen and then i started taking it about two years now. Started noticing things a little sharper, a little clearer. I feel like its kept me on my game. Im able to remember things. Id say give it a try. Prevagen. Healthier brain. Better life. How stupid would it be for me to with my crazy past and what ive been through, oh, right now i just think i need to be a monster and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement and dont let them eat and dont let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle. Stop it. Yall quit playing. Quit playing. Robert i didnt do this stuff. This is not me. Im fighting for my [ bleep ] life. Yall killing me with this [ bleep ]. 30 years of just months after that Epic Meltdown in his 2019 interview with Gayle King, r. Kelly was arrested on several sexual abuse charges. But will he soon face the music . A jury of seven men and five women have been selected to sit at his trial next week on Sex Trafficking chargers. Its the latest in a month of reckoning for the Metoo Movement. Earlier this week new York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation following Sexual Harassment allegations and Harvey Weinstein in the midst of on going Battle Of Further Sexual Assault charges. Joining me now is director of metoo international. So thrilled to have you on this show. Making your Cross Connection debut. I was talking with my colleague Ali Velshi and said we wish we could talk to you about happier subjects. Every time we talk its about this unfortunate issue that we continue to face in society. I want to start with r. Kelly because you know, i felt there was a little bit of manipulation in that interview with Gayle King and you think about all the young girls. One thing thats most striking to me about this story, i remember watching r. Kelly and aleah and i remember interviews treating them its normal for this teenage girl to be so close and attached. We didnt know they were married at the time, to be close and attached to this 27yearold man. As a teenager, no, you guys, he gets her. Its scary that society accepted this. Whats your take on the entire r. Kelly situation . On the entire situation . Well, i have a couple of takes. I think that it took us a long time to get here. And by here i mean to a place where people are openly acknowledging that r. Kelly is a problem and a predator. And i think that happened because the targets that he chose were young black girls and we we often dont listen to young black girls when we say that theres a problem, right . And weve been talking about, we meaning black women, have been talking about r. Kelly for the better part of 20 years and how problematic he is, stemming back from that aliyah, time the with aliyah. Its astonishing that its taken this long but im glad were at least giving credence to the words of black women and girls when we say this person is a predator. Yeah. I mean, i think there is there are some racial divides here, right . With accusations. And the question is always asked, who is going to protect young, black girls. If nothing else, black girls are getting a voice. There was a situation, though, with r. Kelly that will come up in this trial. Prosecutors also allege that he abused a boy under 18 in 2006. They say he met this 17yearold Boy at a mcdonalds and invited him to his studio. Im curious as youre working the Metoo Movement have you encountered a lot of men who were victims of metoo . Victims of Sexual Violence . Absolutely. Yes, yes. And i think part of the problem that weve had in the last four years since metoo has gone viral is that people only associate it with women and girls. When this is a problem that affects the gender spectrum. So, yes. Men and boys are also survivors of Sexual Violence, trans folks, nonby nar folks. We need to stop saying its a womans movement. It really is a survivors movement. So i want to shift gears a bit here and ask a question that i think we have to have this conversation, right . So, separate and apart from Cuomo And R. Kelly and these very clear predators the slogan believe all women, you know, that does come up against some legality issues there. Should anybody can make an accusation and its immediately perceived as truth. You and i as black women know there are racial issues that come along with that that give us pause. Should we believe all women or listen to all women. No. I think people need to be clear about these slogans and mantras. People started saying believe women, not believe all women. But the idea of believe all women, as a black woman, i could never stand behind that, right, because ive seen how Sexual Violence has been weaponized against black men in this country. So, no, this is not about believing all women or believing all people just because they make an accusation. But it is about taking it seriously. Right . The idea behind believe women is just that we need to start from the premise that people are telling the truth when they come guard and said this person has harmed me. And that came about because in this country and really around the world, im sure weve gone through decades and decades of people being shut down at the point of disclosure. So, people disclose something happened and theyre either hit with what were you wearing . Were you drunk . That Person Wouldnt do that . Why would they need to rape you . All these different things that shut you down right at the point of disclosure. So believe women. Believe survivors is really saying, not take a Blanket Statement and think that people always telling the truth. But take it seriously enough to investigate. Right . Dont shut people down at the point of disclosure. Give them the opportunity to be heard and then take it seriously enough to investigate and take it further. Yeah. And really quickly, were a bit over time but i want to get in this one last question because this is something that the former governor Chris Cuomo said that the line moved and he did not know it moved. Now, with him, im going to say, we dont quite believe you. But in general, for men who feel like, well, where is the line now . I think you make a really good point about Common Sense. Im curious your thought on that. People need to use their Common Sense. The lines really havent moved and this is about people not looking at this for real. Right . Like this is not really that nuanced. Youre not supposed to touch people without permission. That hasnt changed. If you want to date somebody, you want youre interested in somebody, you ask them out on a date. They say no, thats The End of the story. Theres really not a line thats moved. You protect people. People deserve bodily Autonomy And Respect Peoples Face and respect peoples boundaries and well be fine. Right . Its not about i dont know how to talk to women anymore. I dont know how to ask women out. What was you doing before metoo went viral. Right . Use your Common Sense. Yeah. Well, as you know, Common Sense aint always that common, but work well conversation tarana burke. Thank you for joining me and make your Cross Connection debut. I truly hope it would not be your last. I could talk to you all day. Thank you for joining me. Thank you. So i know for some of you when you hear Climate Change, your eyes glaze over. But wait, because the fight against Climate Change is getting more urgent by the minute. A new u. N. Study by the worlds top Climate Scientists revealed that we have now warmed the earth by 1. 2 Degrees Celsius in less than 200 years. Now, that may seem a bit abstract to you, but just look around. The Climate Crisis is happening right outside your window. From yet another deadly Heat Wave across the u. S. , to the Dixie Wild Fire in california that has been blazing for an entire month to breaking europes highest temperature in modern history. Were running out of time. And its communities of color that will bear the brunt. Joining me is Vice President of environmental justice at the national wildlife federation. Thank you so much for joining me. Look, i make the point because i think, you know a lot of people are not necessarily focussed on Climate Change. And i dont think people necessarily connect with how it impacts their everyday lives and how imminent the threat is. So, make it plain for us. For people who dont necessarily follow this issue, why should they realize how important it is . You know, James Bald Win said if i love you, i have to make you conscious of the things you dont see. Now as you shared earlier, that people literally can go outside and you can see and feel these impacts that are happening. These wild fires that are burning millions of acres are being burnt and we know that the pollution thats there then travels across the country. Harvard just released a study just this week that talked about how many folks additional folks got covid because of their exposure to part of that pollution thats going on. We know that we also know that the pollution that is a driver in this is being located in black and brown communities. We also know that these extreme Heat Events that you mentioned that Black Folks and brown folks die disproportionately from the extreme heat thats going on and we know we have the droughts going on, tiffany. And we know that as water begins to disappear, the price for it goes up. So that its no longer affordable accessible to so many people across our country. The direct impact, the cross hairs are on our communities. We literally have less green space, there are neighborhoods suffering whats known as the heat island effect, where darker colored materials used to construct roads and bridges, et cetera, make it hotter. So, given that there really is, you know, i guess racism and white supremacism of our infrastructure in this country that we are more impacted by Climate Change, whats now the responsibility of the federal government and what can we as individual do to make sure it gets addressed . Well, we have to actually unpack and dismantle the racism that exists inside of policy, the redline and restrictive Zoning Laws that create this Sacrifice Zones where we pave over everything in black and brown communities so when it does rain we have these immense amounts of rains that begins to flood communities. We also know that we can begin to actually do better efficiency inside of our houses and inside of our buildings and our schools which is going to be so critically important. So we have to raise our voices. We have to make sure that we are calling out our elected officials. We should be picking up the Phone Everyday and calling them and demanding that real change that our new Infrastructure Sets of opportunities, the bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and Reconciliation Bill have resources in there to protect our communities and make sure our voices are being heard. We can also make sure that the dollars that are necessary are focussed on our communities because theres been disinvestment in our communities that has made us more vulnerable, both here in our country and in our international aid when we look at haiti i know you all have just been talking about that. Yeah. Thats right. And i want you to take a look at this video. Its from last month, but its so striking i cannot look away. When the ocean was literally on fire after an oil spill. I mean, this is just bizarre. And when you talk about whats happening internationally, its so hot in dubai that scientists created rainstorms by launching drones that Zapped Clouds with electricity. I didnt know this was a thing. So, can we science our way out of this Climate Crisis . Or is this something thats the train has left the station . Well, the Train Hasnt completely left the station. We actually still have time to make change happen. And the Ipcc Report they give five different scenarios. We have to hold things at 1. 5 Degrees Celsius. And that means that weve got to get all in on the various sets of opportunities. New clean economy. Making sure that were moving forward on Electric Vehicles and buses and number of other things. Making real investments inside so its not too late. We have power unless we give it away. And we know that just in july we had the hottest month ever for america. We know that in the last 100,000 years our global temperatures are now higher than theyve ever been. And in the Ipcc Report, let me just share this real quickly with you, tiff that the carbon thats in the atmospheres is now at an all time high. We havent seen it in 2 Million year. We can make change happen. We utilize our dollars better and we make sure were paying attention who were giving our dollars to, then we can actually begin to make positive change. Very good points. Thank you so much for joining us and putting all that in perspective. So this week the census confirmed what we long surmised that the United States has grown increasingly diverse over the past decade, led by Surging Latino and asianamerican populations. The indigenous population has increased by 160 in africanamericans and held steady and the white population declined for the first time in american history. So this might explain why so many in the Conservative Movement stayed big. The fear that being the minority will incur them the same treatment they long inflicted on others. Lets talk about it. Joining me now are christina and sue ramirez, Christine Chen and returning champ, jessie ross, member of the black Foot Nation and cohost of the Podcast Break dances with wolves. Thank you all for being here. Christine, i want to start you because the biggest gains that were made in the latino community which i find fascinating because not only is this a community thats diverse in terms of origin, but its very politically diverse as well. So, what do these numbers say to you about how elected officials need to reach out to this community that for a long time was quite overlooked . Well, you know, i live in texas where one in five latinos live. Lots of people picture my state as a state filled with white cowboys and for sure we have great white cowboys in our state but actually what people should be picturing is a state that is majority young, brown and black. 100,000 latinos turning 18 every year in arizona. 200,000 latinos turning 18 every year in texas. So, this is tremendous political Power And Growth in our community. But as latinos, we are also a community where one in three of us in my Home State of texas dont have healthcare. Where 60 of latinos make under15 an hour. So to win the Latino Vote longterm, politicians need to invest in our vote, invest in a very young population and invest on robust and progressive economic agenda. I want to say that the census data particularly from arizona, georgia and texas that showed huge growth in communities of color shows why we are seeing unprecedented attacks on the power of our vote. Why they tried to undercount us in the census to begin with with trump in office. And why during redistricting were also going to see them try and dlut the power of our vote. For me the message is clear for politicians want to cling to the past and not celebrate the diversity of our country they want to cling to the past they can have it but the future will belong to us. Christina makes a very good point. I often say this is not a revolution, whats happening in this country, its an evolution. So get on board or get fossilized. I think that the Aapi Population punctuates this point. The fastest growing demographic in the country and the Aapi Population is also overlooked particularly in georgia where that community was integral in delivering the power of the federal government to democrats. Whats your take on these new numbers and how they will be used to shape 1. 5 trillion in annual funding . Yeah. You know, for us, we were not surprised about these numbers. You know, asianamerican Pacific Islanders continue to grow in double digits in every single state, except hawaii where we already make up a majority. Even in states where they are losing population, the asian population continues to increase in those double digits. And we, as immigrants, are helping revitalize these cities. You know, even in those as we start to see these numbers transform into voters as we saw on this last Election Cycle with georgia, arizona and nevada, you know, elected officials, candidates, need to look at places like texas and North Carolina and michigan and pennsylvania. Because were already seeing especially at the local level how the how working with broad coalitions, with asianamerican Pacific Islanders, other communities of colors, especially when you combine the numbers of latinos and asians, one in four in the country identify with this immigrant population. And so you know, as weve also seen that after the elections the asianamerican, pacific Islander Community has continued to organize whether its around vaccines, fighting against antiasian hate which continues to be a high priority because we continue to see increasing number of reporting of harassment, of shunning and physical attacks against our community. And, as we move forward, as we look at how we develop our international relations with other countries, were going to be looking to see how that really impacts this community, which is growing and really has an opportunity at the Ballot Box to really make a difference. So, one thing i found interesting about these numbers is that by 2045 there will be no racial majority in the country, which is very fascinating. You wonder what that looks like. Given that the native population has increased exponentially, im curious your thoughts on these numbers and why do you think that native population increased so much . Im curious on your thoughts on both those things. Good morning, everybody. Good morning, tiffany. Well, its been a steady increase for native people. For native people, we were pushed to the point of genocide by genocidal government, by genocidal church, by Genocidal Educational Systems to a low of the turn of the 20th Century only being 250,000 native people in these socalled United States. And now to get to a place of 3. 7 million and thats with native people being vastly, vastly undercounted, it shows the resilience, it shows the power. Obviously it shows the fertility of native people. And i suppose one of the main reasons why that this boom is happening, that native people are in this incredible, Incredible Recovery is because that we have access to healthcare, we have access to better healthcare than we have in previous years and thats due to people like Secretary Deb Hallland and the organizers who getting native people to the polls to hold politicians accountable and fully fund, hopefully get to a point of fully funding services such as Indian Health Services and that allows native people to live our best lives, to actually be vital and powerful as we were always supposed to be before this intervening event of genocide happened, you know, however many years ago and continued on as we see the remnants of these children at Boarding Schools, native Boarding Schools be uncovered. Were recovering from that. We did it in a powerful way and well continue to grow and continue to be heard i imagine. A resilient people we all are, absolutely. Take a good look at your screen, because this is the future of america. I also want to point out that its very routine for communities of color to be undercounted particularly in the Native American community and the black and brown community. So well continue this conversation as we peel apart these numbers and see if theyre trustworthy in the coming weeks. So thank you very much. Christina, christine and gyasi, thank you all for joining us. After the break, texas republicans order the arrest of democrats trying to protect Voting Rights. One of those dems joins me next. The texassize battle over Voting Rights is getting uglier despite 15hour but the effort is stalled in the Texas House despite the democrats who fled to deny the republicans a quorum. Joining me now, one of those courageous democrats, Texas State Representative jasmine crockett. Jasmine, im so happy to see you this morning. Im so happy youre on with me. This is insane, whats happening. How long can you guys keep this up . Thank you for holding the line, but truly, how long can you hold the line . Listen, if its up to me, ill continue to hold the line. I keep telling people its a team sport. The governor is playing a lot of games right now. Sadly enough, some of my colleagues fell for those games and decided to go back to the floor. The governor put things like covid19 on the call so people are saying weve got to go back because our constituency needs help. In reality, we know where the governor stands on covid19, he stands on the wrong side of history yet again. My School District in dallas has decided to ignore him. We know where hes going. The sad part is if democrats give them a quorum, what will happen is he will codify into law that No One will have the power to do things such as Mask Mandates even if the midst of a public Health Emergency like the one that were facing now. And i think thats the thing we have to keep reminding people. This is not just about Voting Rights. Voting rights is what holds the line for all of this. Once you obliterate that, he can put into action his incredibly conservative legislative priorities like further bans on abortion, covid19 which you just talked about, restrict transgender treats from participating in sports, more censorship on social media. Its just very scary stuff that were looking at. Worst case scenario, lets say that happens. Will the democrats be any position to stop this list of draconian policies hes trying to introduce . No, we wont. We walk in, they steam roll. Its my understanding they are simply seeking a quorum and what they plan to do is obliterate the rules as they currently exist in the house so that they can pass these bills that have already passed out of the senate in a matter of two days. That is the information that were getting. There will be no debate. They will shut us down by calling the question. There will be no amendments. There will be nothing. All they want to do is have our bodies there so that they can steamroll us. Hes given to me more reasons not to go back instead of, you know, trying to talk to us and negotiate and come up with something that makes sense for the majority of texans. Thats not what he wants. He doesnt care about texans. All he cares about is his upcoming primary and making sure that he can win in a primary because he knows that once these voter restrictions are in place, he can take this thing to texas. Let me listen to one of your colleagues, they were on with my colleague, rachel maddow, this week, state senator alvarado. It all stems from the big lie told by the big liar himself. And they have allowed themselves to be manipulated by him and now it has spilled over not just to the Texas Legislature but to so many. And what texas democrats want to tell other legislative bodies, you dont just have to stand and take it if you dont have the numbers. Thats why were doing everything that we can to slow it down, to give people the opportunity to really take a close eye to see what republicans are doing to us. So jasmine, big up to your colleague, i just want to make a correction, it does not all stem from the big lie. Black folks have fought Voter Suppression since this country began. We have to tell an uncomfortable truth. The big lie started from the big lie, you know that being from texas. Absolutely. We just had our census numbers come out. I spoke about our census numbers before. From what we got from demographers. But we have the real deal numbers and it shows that over the last ten years, 95 of the growth in the state of texas has been people of color. You just heard christina talking about it. Thats absolutely true. When we look at trump and biden, he only lost texas by 5 percentage points. Thats whats scary. So theyre saying, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, we only added 180,000 anglos in the last ten years, whereas asianamericans grew over half a million, Black Americans grew over half a million, latino members grew over 2 Million, right . So theres saying, wait a minute, if we dont do something now, then that floor is going to start to look like what the state looks like, which the state is a Majority Minority State and they dont want that. Thats right, and the native population increased by 160 . Jasmine, thank you so much for joining us. I want you to tweet out what we at home can do, were out of time, otherwise we would talk about it, but keep us posted on how to support the democrats. Thank you for holding the line. I appreciate you so much. Coming up tomorrow on the Sunday Show with my friend jonathan capehart, former attorney general Eric Holder will discuss his efforts to protect the right to vote.
