Like, it dont work like that, like, because i really feel some type of way about the whole situation so im going to be, like, a George Floyd add Foe Kit only. You feel me . Its like deeper, you feel me . I know people get killed by the police. You feel me . You are saying on the internet people are asking you to speak out on this incident, this horrific incident in minnesota. Right. And you are saying you know people who have been killed by police and you didnt post then because thats now how you relate to in. Posting dont do nothing for the situation. George floyd needs his, like so in a time of, like, uproar about the situation, i took it upon myself to just speak on the whole thing because i aint just, like, making George Floyd something, you know what im sayin . I mentioned what happened in the song a little bit, but it was, like, a whole thing. It wasnt just, like, the incident because its, like, way bigger than the incident. Bigger than each other incident, like a whole thing. That was my chance to, like, speak on the whole thing. How many people would you say you know personally who have been hurt or shot by police . I dont know. Since, like, middle school, one of my close buds, like, he got shot in the back by the police one time. And from then on we just, like, hearing a lot. Yeah. This song as you say, it comes out of your entire life experience, the people you knew. Right, not just i seen it happen, boom, and i went in and made a song. It aint really that. Now i seen this happen and i seen the uproar now its easier for me to make a song, easy, because i already been living like this. Its wild. You educating us about that because the song resonated really deeply across 2020. Right. Its now, ill tell you my view, its now part of this living history. Right. Its one of the songs like Marvin Gaye or Bob Dylan that people will be playing years from now trying to understand what we went through and where were going. Could i read a couple of lines . Definitely. You say every video i see on my conscience i got power now, i got to say something, corrupt police been the problem, where im from, but id be lying if i said it was all of them. Right. Why was it important to you to also speak to the nuance, the gray, because you know everybody knows a lot of these things sometimes become completely onesided, black or white. You are going out to say publish police police brutally is wrong, but its not all of them. It aint all of them. You could have a group of six of them that stop you and two of them just tripping, like, four might be come. The other two might be tripping. They might be, like, a brotherhood or whatever but it aint be all of them. Its like anybody, everybody aint gonna be bad. Everybody aint some people just, like, life period. Some people got good hearts and some people police, them aint The Ones that but then i just, like, some people are being, like, im, like, [ bleep ] the Police Period and i aint on it. They there for a reason. Know what im saying . Somebody break in your house, you call the police. Its not just a [ bleep ] the police situation. Know what im sayin . Yeah. Now we talking like the corrupt side. And thats not all of them. So you said with the Floyd Family you went to the White House. Right. You talked to Vice President harris. Right. How did that go . It went perfect, actually. And i just was going just to go. I didnt even go to talk to nobody. It was like a chance that wasnt going to turn down. I turn down a lot of stuff. You want to do this show . No. You want to go to the White House . Yeah, im going. Like, definitely. You are very humble about it. Right. You are not flexing on it. Right. What did you think of Vice President harris . She is the first woman of color to ever be at that level in the White House. She is an amazing woman. You know, like, you would be thinking President And Everything from, like, being young because, like, you see it on tv and its like a myth, its on the news. But just, like, me being a big rapper, everybody regular people. So its like i am sitting down with a regular person and she is talking like a regular person. Everybody is regular people. Like a regular conversation. It was a lady in the White House. I was sitting at the table. She asked, like, yeah, then she was, like, how you get here . She is, like, how you get here . She is, like, i reach out to you like six, seven times so you could come to the White House, you know, like, you was you aint trying to be no politician. You know what i mean . But i came for a different reason, like a backstage, like i said. I would rather go on the backstage with the cameras wasnt on me. I slipped and got on Camera One Time where nobody never knew i was there. I went for a backhand spin, you feel me . Were call that Lil Baby grandma vibes now. You just go with the back of the White House. Go in the back. You feel me . Even though im somebody and i could have a full press around what i got going on. Is there anything you have learned on this recent journey these last four years that you wish you knew what you started . Everything. I come from what they call the trap. The trap . H. Its really a trap. Thats why they call it a trap. Like, you be trapped. You dont know a lot of stuff. You know what goes on inside the trap. 24 years i been outside the trap. Now i am in the world.
