You have this patchwork of rules around the country with regards to schools. Testing is down. Hospitalizations are up, cases are up. Should we be reopening all of our schools for Inperson Learning Dr. Fauci . It is a delicate balance. We know from the experience we had in the last now year and a half that keeping children physically out of class and having them have virtual and staying at home as really considerable effects on them from the standpoint of mental health, social development, a variant of other things. So we know that is an issue. When you look at a situation, if you want to keep them in school, you have to do whatever you can to keep them safe. What that means, in my mind and the mind of Public Health officials is the first thing you do is you surround them with people who are vaccinated. Thats why we want teachers to get vaccinated. We want the personnel in the school to get vaccinated, and children who are eligible because of their age to get vaccinated, they should get vaccinated. Obviously we dont yet have the approval to vaccinate younger kids. Kids less than 12 years old. Thats the reason why it is important to say that in order to protect them, everybody in the School System should be wearing a mask when the kids are there. They responded by not denying the allegation, but what they said is they put out a statement saying it does not condone the assigning of students solely based on race, and when they learned of the allegation they investigated and took appropriate ax.
