We should not be looking at that right now given the Kristol Juanita Tolliver fact that we have hardly acts knee. Highly effective vaccines that are. Safe tonight, floridas republican governor was asked about the Case Surge in his state. Some politicians say, i am going to eliminate the virus, Doctor Ebony Jade Hill Doctor i will defeat could be the it. Patel unfortunately, government coveted Patel Cannot just ended. Ebony jade so we knew this is Hilton Something that Doctor Anthony Jade youre going hilton to have to live Kavita Patel with. Something something youve enough to live. With there was some progress reported today by the White House, the nation has passed an important new milestone, 50 of all americans have fully vaccinated and another major corporation has joined those issuing vaccine mandates. American airlines are requiring their employees to be vaccinated by this fall. Its the first major airline to take this step. Amazon says all workers in its u. S. Warehouses will be required to wear masks on the job starting monday. New Jerseys Governor is ordering all students, teachers, and staff members to wear masks inside of Schools One School begins next month. And a judge in Arkansas Today temporarily blocked the state from enforcing its ban on mask mandates. That ruling came after lawmakers he wanted them to consider rolling back the ban for some schools as covid cases continue to climb in that state. And then theres this weekends big event in south dakota, the popular sturgis rally, its a motorcycle rally. Its supposed to its expected to drop more than 1 Million Word Asylum motorcyclists. There the possibility for an outbreak after that. There is encouraging news about the economy. The Labor Department announced that employers added 943,000 new jobs last month. The Unemployment Rate dropped to 5. 4 . Economists are watching closely to see whether the current outbreak is going to pose and a threat to that recovery and theres a caution that we are not quite Out Of The Woods yet. My Message Today is not one of celebration, it is one to remind us that we have a lot of hard work left to be done. What is indisputable now is this, the Biden Plan is working, the Biden Plan is producing results, and the Biden Plan is moving the country for. The White House is also taking steps to help millions of people with students. The administration announced an extension to the Student Loan Payment moratorium. Until January 31st of next year. Were also a former executive of the assistant who accused him of groping her has now filed a criminal complaint with the a county sheriffs office. That county says that it will address the Complaint And Albany tomorrow. That allegation is one of 11 Accounts Intern including the Attorney General Letitia James report that accuses the governor of multiple instances of sexual harassment. Cuomo denies all allegations. He hasnt been charged with anything. This afternoon, a lawyer for the Governors Office cast out on the story calling it for false while blasting the Attorney Generals report. There has been no open fact finding in this case. The investigation was conducted to support a predetermined narrative. Here, instead of acting as independent fact finders, the investigators acted as prosecutors, judge, and jury. We do not have the underlying if it is, that has not been provided to us. From that report. Tonight the Attorney General said that the transcripts will be made available to the state prosecutors of cuomo. As for what new yorkers think of their governor, a new poll find that 70 of those surveyed say they think that its time for Andrew Cuomo to step down. With that, lets bring our lead off guests for tonights, jonathan lemire, cynthia alksne, we and doctor covid patel, clinical physician and former senior Policy Aide during the obama administration. She is also one of our Public Health experts and a nonresident fellow at brookings. Good evening to all of you. Doctor patel, that we start with you, where we . Now we have the administration pushing a more aggressive agenda to get the vaccine out there, we have people like Ron Desantis pushing back, we have a Delta Variant that continues to spread across this country at great speed. Yes allie, look, the efforts for vaccination must continue and need to accelerate as much as possible. Mandates, whatever we can do. But that is not going to make a dent in the acceleration of cases that we see today. In florida, and close to that texas, were seeing hospitals that are so overwhelmed. These are the two most populous states. You add all of this up, ali, and the fact that were starting school, some of already started, but the Majority Start in the next 2 to 3 weeks, and pediatric cases on the, rise this is just a Power Keg of sorts. So what were all bracing for is when will this dissent happen and we look to other countries, the uk, the netherlands, where they had steep descents despite Delta Kind of taking a hold and were hoping we can follow that pattern. But were looking at least 2 to 4 more weeks of this kind of increase until the crest and then come down. Honestly, ali, theres gonna be a lot of death and hospitalizations around the, way and largely, preventable. Jonathan i want to just play for our viewers how this week has gone in terms of the Back And Forth between the White House and Governors Desantis in florida. Lets listen together. These interventions have failed time and time again throughout this pandemic. The best offenses we have our combination of the natural immunity i say to these governors, please help. If youre not going to help, get out of the way. There are leaders who are not stepping up and are getting in the way of the american people. He wants to have the Government Force kindergartners to wear masks in school. In florida, the parents are gonna be the ones in charge of that decision. He said, i am in the way to block too much interference for the threat government. Your Response Mister President . Governor who . I guess im not surprised that biden doesnt remember me. I guess the question is, what else has he forgotten . Im the governor who protects parents and their ability to make the right choices for their kids education. Im the governor who protects the jobs and education and businesses in florida. Governor desantis is not his fundraising off of this. Hes fundraising off of, it jonathan lemire, after he talked about the federal government getting out of the way, sending a letter to fundraisers asking for a donation. Its not necessarily a fight that the White House is looking for though . No it is. Not i regret not wearing my ten suit tonight, you look fantastics. Or this is part of a far sharper rhetoric from the president that we see from the republic the Delta Variant has really search. Weve Seed Cases explode across the country. Hes really fastened on to the phrase, the pandemic of the unvaccinated. Hes pointing his finger squarely at those who havent gotten the shot, those who are putting themselves, their Loved Ones in danger, he says. But also jeopardizing to come back the whole nations had. Threatening the economy recovery, forcing everyone to wear masks, so, on and so. On hes taking square aim and recent days and republican governors who, as he put, it got in the way of trying to stave governor american people. Governor desantis has said, this is not the White House wants. But it is evidence of the frustration that the president and senior officials in the west Wing And Health officials elsewhere in the government feel about the american response right now in the pandemic. That this is something where they should feel like we should be further ahead than we. Are the vaccines are, theyre there plentiful. We cant give them away yet because of the politics of it. Because masks are politicized, vaccines are politicized, because the former president and his disciples, they feel like the progress but he feels like the progress is not as far as it should be. And people are still getting. Six so this is almost a scold in tone is what were gonna hear from the president as he tries to pull the leverage of government to try to figure out any way, short of a mandate, to get people to take the vaccine. Hosimply i want to talk to you about the new yorks governor, Andrew Cuomo, a lot of activists to complain about the workforce and the extent to which they are continues to be Cut Harassment or close. Often say that success looks like some sort of acknowledgment for it, some sort of remorse for, its some sort of action thats being taken. Andrew cuomo is not reading from that pamphlet. No he is not he is not reading from that pamphlet at all. And today, they went after, as you would expect, he went after the entire investigation claiming that it was just a predetermined narrative and its a mystery of how it all happened. Listen, you can have a predetermined narrative with 11 different women who do not know each other. Where there is cooperation some by state troopers, others by emails, others by witnesses at the very moment of the time this happened. So i think the predetermine narrative attack, it really isnt going to work. They do make a good point though. Im gonna give them this. He is entitled to the witness interviews. And i do think that he should get them. And my guess is that it will happen relatively soon. But given what you see that polling is showing that voters should thinks he should resign. Hes lost all of his support amongs new york, and, democrats jonathan, he has lost his support from most federal democrats as well. The new York Legislation in congress at the congressional level, senate, level are both calling for his resignation. Even the president calling for his resignation. Where does Andrew Cuomo go for support now if anywhere . There arent many places. Devote Governor Cuomo is a man on an island now, ali. When these allegations first emerged earlier this, year there were a number of democrats, influential ones in new york state, who called for him to resign. We heard them from senator schumer, Senator Majority and also new yorker, who asked that he should resign. But it wasnt unanimous. Some of the really big power players there, some of the unions he has supported for a long, time they still had his back and give him hope that he can survive this. And in recent months, it seemed like there was a shot that he couldve. His Poll Numbers have crept back up, he really dealt at a lot of constituents services, he was he worked with african american communities, and church, leaders and it seems like he might be able to stabilize himself. And perhaps, rumor, had even run for another term next year. His fourth. Term but in the wake of the Attorney Generals investigation, there is no support left. A lot of those groups and new york have abandoned him and of course the Death Blow may have been earlier this week. I was in the White House when the President Biden said that he should resign. Biden of course, back in march, said that he would be differential. He would take his cues from firings of this investigation. That is what he did. But its more than that. He and cuomo are friends. They are political allies, they believe that they are cut from the same political cloth. And it is of course it extremely damaging to Andrew Cuomo who is the leader the leader of the free, world wants him. Out and it comes at the same time as the articles of impeachment that could be ready in a matter of weeks. Were looking at september, october, for trial. And at least right, now my colleagues at the Associated Press did a Head Count of disassembly, they have votes to. Impeach doctor patel, you mentioned mandates. The government as we saw with between the White House and Ron Desantis, theyre not looking for direct conversations and confrontations with a lot of these states. However, a number of companies are stepping up. Theyre saying either their workers have to be mandated or have to be mast, and some are even insisting that customers and clients be vaccinated. Is american business going to put this over the top . I think american Business Crepe private sister, say which, you will and by the way, ally i can tell you that the conversation between the public and private sectors are absolutely ongoing and will continue, because you bet that people at the White House are talking to these companies to also expressed their support even though they cant actually issue a mandate over these private companies. So this is gonna be the way youre also seeing Teachers Unions and others around the country starting to express support for possible school based Ben Vaccine mandates, if theyre available and when there available for children, and when theyre fully licensed, not under an emergency authorization. That results in a pressure on the fda which will announce that they will likely have approval in the next several weeks. So you can see this kind of sequencing if theres an approval in the next six to 4 to 6 week sorry licensed, or in the next 4 to 6 weeks. And the accountability to express a full. Mandate hopefully they will stick together with some degree of immunity by infection. And that might be your best way, ally, to get to that kind of notion of Herd Immunity. But we cant gather fast enough. And we have to do it before the length of variant, which is wearing a lot of us, which could take the foothold of the Delta Variant. , and cynthia, i guess the White House would love for this to happen in some way, other than a federal mandate. From a legal perspective, obviously all of it will face challenge, but companies seem to be on stronger footing, they would be able to say, hey, we cannot endanger our clients, we can of the danger our fellow workers. I think thats right. I dont necessarily think they have to wait until the license are, i think they can go ahead and do it now. And i would like Insurance Companies to go ahead and get serious about, after a certain date, that could be determined, that people will have to pay more for their insurance if they dont get vaccinated. And after all, when people dont get vaccinated and they get sick, it raises Insurance Cost for all of us. And just like the people who smoke, we can they can be charged more, so should people who refuse to get vaccinated. Because its not only a threat to everyone elses health, and incredibly selfish, in my opinion, but its also i financial burden on our entire Health Care system. Jonathan, there has been, in addition to the January 6th panel, a staff addition, a republican, denver riggleman, has been added to the staff. Heres what he said when he was appointed. This might be one of the biggest things ive ever done in my life. That includes deploying almost 20 years ago after 9 11 with the 30 foot bombs got. We cannot worry about whether we have an hour or the next to our name. Its time to look at a fact based way on what happened on January 6th, to see if we can prevent this from ever happening again. Jonathan whats the significance of this . Well that certainly a refreshing tone there, i think that what we just heard from denver and his addition to this committee had been rumored for sometime. We heard, what we heard is in the minority right now. There are two republicans on the committee, cheney and kinzinger, but we know that Gop Leader mccarthy yanked his nominees for this committee, in part because some of them, probably would be witnesses for the role that they played on January 6th. And its hard to do both. And i think that right now its unclear exactly with the timetable for the committee is. We heard extraordinarily promotional emotional testimony from those officers, theres metropolitan police officers who testified before congress, that the first session of the hearing. There will be another soon. And it remains a shame, of course, and we can say this without any political ends, that there is not a bipartisan commission, akin to what we saw after 9 11, which denver just mentioned. But i think that, despite these few lonely republican voices, who are looking for to find the truth, to find what happened, to try and prevent it from happening again, most republicans want to turn the page. They want to downplay and diminish it. And they want to adhere to the big lie. That perhaps it was even justified, that this violent mob stormed the Capitol To Perch Prevent Joe Bidens win. Because they felt like Joe Biden should be reelected. They want to whitewash what happened that day, one of the darkest days in american history, and it has set up the attack on Voting Rights and individual states and nationally. And set the plate for a fierce fight in 2022 and 2024. We will be a disgusting that more through tonights show. Thank you very much, jonathan lemire, cynthia alksne, and dr. Kavita patel. As the Delta Variant fuels a get started today. Surge in new hospitalizations, hospitals are running out of a critical resource. There are simply not enough people to care for their patients. The Texas Tribune reports that hospitals there are struggling with historically low staffing levels, writing, quote there are 23,000 more unfilled Jobs Job and its not just texas, hospitals around the country are facing Staffing Shortages amid this latest spike in covid cases. Back with us tonight, dr. Ebony hilton, a professor of anesthesiology at the university of Virginia School of medicine. She also hosts the podcast the B Word unpacked. Doctor hilton, good to see you again, this is a serious problem. Its a serious problem all through covid, where there have been shortages of nurses in this country for a long time. But the burn out, the rate at which people were burning out or getting the infection last year, was tremendous. Now we have the same thing. And with the pressure to get vaccinated, we have some Health Care workers saying, im out. Right. I think its a combination of a number of different things. For one, we are tired. We talk about the nurses burning out. All we know is that every year, between 300 and 400 physicians, before covid, were committing suicide. Wow. We are seeing not only this burnout of people not going to work, but we have to think about the Mental Health of nurses, respiratory therapists, our transporters, the people working directly with patients and seeing these deaths, day in and day out. What does that do to your own Mental Capacity . And then when you go to work, you may become infected yourself. How does that make you feel . And is there confidence that this will never stop, if we are not getting vaccinated . So on one hand, hospitals and doctors and employers in the medical field, they need to learn new things and be sensitive to all of these things that you talked about that existed before covid. And as a result of covid, where that burnout came to the surface. On the other hand, in houston, there was a medical center who told everyone, get vaccinated or you do not work here anymore. And they ended up losing some staff as a result. Thats not Something Hospital groups across the country can actually afford to do. And yet, we want these Health Care workers vaccinated. Right. We know how the politics of this plays out. We see it in other industries, we look at Teachers Unions, and how they are struggling to get teachers vaccinated. And it is the same in the hospitals. Unfortunately, what we are seeing is that the Hospital Stress is not going down. We only have 6000 hospitals in the u. S. , with about 780,000 beds. While 600,000 of those beds are now in use, we 63,000 dying of covid patients. So we have to find somehow, find the will to press through. This time. But it will take an awakening of the Hospital System and say, is this really Provider Burnout . Or is this Provider Abuse . How are we really treating our Health Care workers, like people . Are we feeding back and literally saying, are you taking care of yourself . And how can we better make sure that the workload we are putting on your shoulders, that that workload is responsible, for us to do so . Because you are just a person to. Ive never seen it look responsible, when you see the training that nurses and doctors go through, ive never thought it made sense. But do you agree with Health Care centers and hospitals insisting that their staff are vaccinated . Certainly. At this point, because, at this point, when i walk into the hospital, people are trusting me to do the very best they can do. To take care of them. If i am not vaccinated myself, and i know that i can be infected, and i know i can infect someone, who has tried to do their best to protect themselves, by doing vaccinations and the simple Public Health measures, then i owe it to them. Thats my job. Thats my responsibility. So i will urge all the Health Care workers, this is not the time to play politics. This is an issue with patient lives at stake. There are also a lot of kids, everyone is going around talking about my body, my choice. But its not the kids choice. If you are under 12 and you are in a school, you do not get to make that choice, so someone else not getting vaccinated or putting on a mask, could be making a serious Life Or Death choice for children. Right. For certain. If we look at it right now, more than 4. 2 million children have tested positive for covid. And in early june, one in every three teens who were hospitalized were admitted to the icu, with 5 requiring invasive ventilation. If you look at the numbers now, we are seeing tons of kids become infected. Literally, last week, 72,000 children were newly diagnosed with covid19. We do not have time to play, you know, Russian Roulette with our childrens lives. Everyone needs to get vaccinated. And provide some form of Herd Immunity to protect them. Well said, dr. Ebony jade hilton, good to see you again, as always dr. Ebony jade hilton, joining us again tonight. We gem across our joining up to protect the ballot on the anniversary of the Voting Rights act. Collective they will it in this caucus to defeat the republicans fighting thats where we didnt, may thats what we did in, july this is what we did now in the first week of august, this is weber gonna do to keep moving forward. They were not able to do that this time, the governor would love us to do, that but we are not going. Too well to that, in Texas Governor Greg abbott is making good on his promise to call another special Send Session to pass it convenes at noon. Texas time on saturday. It remains to be seen if the texas democrats who have been breaking quorum in washington will return. Theyre in town to Pressure Congress to pass federal voting protections and issue an Attorney General is weighing. On Merrick Garland writes, on this anniversary of the Voting Rights act, we must say again that it is not right to erect barriers that make it harder for millions of eligible americans to vote. And it is time for congress to act again to protect the fundamental right. For more we welcome back tonight wendy to progressive. And bill crystal, hes a veteran of the Reagan And Bush administrations an editor at large at the bulwark. Ill start with you bill, you have any information about wet republicans my do about this voting Rights Bill that is being brought to the united States Senate . Im afraid at the end of the day, any of the possible bills theyre gonna be brought the good news is, if you believe that the federal government has to step in as the Attorney General sees it to protect Voting Rights, try to make sure we have free and fair elections in 2022 and 2024 and that trump doesnt get away with the kinds of things he tried, as we are learning more more about them in november 2020. If you believe that, the good news is the democrats are negotiating seriously among themselves if theyre gonna have a new bill. Senator manchin has been key in developing next week more targeted, more focused, some of the progressives will be disappointed. But i think its a bill that all democrats can support. Republicans in my view, should support it. And extra publican, or whatever i am, now sort of republican, can urge in good faith, in, honesty be supported. It doesnt have to bake progressive wish lists, its to make sure that our elections are free and fair and secure. Its generous kind of voter i. D. But still voter i. D. Which has always been a republican talk of talking. Point but thats gonna be on the. Bill some point next, week maybe not the final text. And i think that will change the debate and mentioned might try to get a few republicans at least to support it. And if they dont, i think its the tough decision is gonna be made by manchin and sinema, are they gonna break the filibuster. I am more optimistic that that has that is going to happen that i have been for a. While will take optimism. At some juncture, something has to happen. Everybody sort of spoke, and were in the middle of this so called summer of action. We are seeing the texas democrats who are holdup in washington trying to do something, theyre begging the federal government, days are saying, we cannot keep on holding out on this. When we are seeing the people, including members of congress, being arrested to draw tension to this. And we are seeing this new effort that Bill Kristol is talking about, whats in your opinion has to happen next to not lose the momentum that folks have to entrench Voting Rights that cannot be eroded by State Legislatures . Action, ali. And while bill remains optimistic, im concerned. I cant say that im optimistic at this point because we know that the two impasse is here, as far as action on this new legislative piece on Voting Rights, is about either, its coming down to the filibuster or its coming down to getting republicans. I dont believe there are ten good republicans who will do the right thing. They have republicans have shown this Iron Clad opposition to any and every piece of legislation coming from democrats prior to this bipartisan infrastructure package. But everything else, they have stopped. They have so even though democrats are negotiating the terms of the new updated Voting Rights legislation, i am not confident republicans will come through with it. If schumer is holding out on this, if schumer knows something as far as agreements within the caucus that they will carve out and push out the filibuster to advance this voting legislation, and then bless. Because im looking at this like this is a Do Or Die moment for democrats to protect their Voting Rights of black and brown voters who we know are being targeted across the country. And ali, as you mentioned, the texas democrats look. They have succeeded on their three primary objectives of delaying any kind of Voter Suppression Bill being passed in texas state, House By Advocating and congress for legislative action, and by garnering national attention to Voting Rights. Which we know, getting oxygen on this has been a problem, especially competing with Infrastructure Packages and other issues in washington right now. So the texas democrats have done their job, now looking to the senate as well as the democratic caucus in the senate to do their job, because we know republicans have absolutely obstructed everything at this point and will continue to obstruct everything. And bill, obviously, there are people like Jim Clambered who said keep your filibuster for other things, dont keep it for this. So what youre talking about gets Manchin On Board and sent him on board, Democrats Cant do this if they agree to avoid the filibuster. But where are conservatives on this . Because there must be some in the senate who are prepared to say, there is something we can do here. Why is this become such a Party Line Issue . It will hasnt traditionally been as hard to get republicans to back things as basic as the Voting Rights act. It is terrible, it is trumps republican party and i think Chuck Schumer agrees that there are not a lot of rip i think that Joe Manchin hopes to defend a bill, get the republicans to sign this and say, you can make some, changes we want to have amendments, go ahead lets debate about it. Hes willing to let it come to the floor and have an honest exchange of ideas, of amendments, different proposals. And i think once mentioned goes through that process, he will feel he has done what he can is a very big Believer And Bipartisanship to do. That and the question is if is he willing to carve out something about the filibuster. He hasnt told me, and im not sure if he told Chuck Schumer, hes gonna go through a lot of trouble if he just lets a die. So i think there is a decent chance he. Well both of, you hang on there, stay with us. Coming, up the House Speaker reacts to concerns within her own party, the democrats could be at risk of losing the house when the 11th Hour continues. Hour continues you always have i have no no comment about my colleague except to say that he is a greater of the dccc. Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney from the state of new york. Im pretty confident that we will wIn The House. But in terms of the specific, where he was Airing Zeroing in on, it always run scared. Thats. It now Speaker Pelosi issued congressional campaign committee. The dccc. The democrats might be in trouble in comes the midterms, if they dont change their messaging on the economy. Still with us Juanita Tolliver and Bill Kristol. When utah will start with you, what do you think of the questions and Nancy Pelosis . Response from the dccc will put perspective, lets make our case to the public and his agenda is widely popular for afforded the american Rescue Plan to the Infrastructure Packages. People support this, people need this. And people recognize it when democrats call it out and say, hey we deliver this to you. And almost exclusively deliver this to. I think Pelosis Response recognizes that not only is she a scrapper but she also knows the Uphill Battle that democrats are gonna be up against recognizing that we still have redistricting thats going to be led by a number of Gop State legislators. And that is going to be a structural battle. So thats not even anything that messaging can handle. On the other thing that Speaker Pelosi said in her weekly conference was that she also empowers her members to customize their messages to appeal on a local level, because we recognize that it does not catch the individuals members popular down the district. Level so that something that shes encouraging people to do. But the overall objective here is that its they are leaning on an agenda that is widely popular with the american public and they have done so much. So it is time to highlight, that it is time to emphasize, and it is time to let people know that they did that alone, without help from republicans. And that is going to create quite a dichotomy of what youre gonna see from democker republicans during the midterms. Which is interesting bill, because when you look at the infrastructure stuff, it is polling at 2 to 1 in favor right now, including with the majority of more publicans. In fact its a typically republican type of undertaking. And youre seeing that in the senate, . Right youre seeing movement from republicans who say, unlike but when eta said, they dont want this thing to go through that there are republicans on board. So we hear that from other people, we hear from others that Who Cares who is behind the bill. So republicans are finally pushing back on these things and they will take credit anyway. Republicans In The House just are taking structural advantage both in terms of redistricting and both the normal difficulties that the parties have. Theyll say, great, im glad we had all these bills through, never gonna make sure that biden doesnt go too far. Thats with the republicans are counting far. The only thing that im gonna add to Wet Juanita said, is that the democrats can make it more that means that the tying, the crazys In The House, there are now a lot, too they have lauren bogart, they have matt gates, they have to make more mainstream republicans, whether theyre members, or incumbents, or an open seats, account for those people. You can be in the same conference with, them youre fine with mccarthy being, speaker theyre all top three as we overturn the elections if on november six. So if i were some combination of pelosi and maloney, i think there would be a great very no room for error. But i think that juanita what is the balance that pelosi and democrats have to manage between progressive agendas, including the success this week with the eviction moratorium, and things like infrastructure that appeal to a very broad base, how does she manage what democrats are to americans when the next election comes around . Look, Front And Center on what they delivered. I think that point around infrastructure is key because we know, especially when the bipartisan package gets through the senate, House Progressives are gonna be looking for that Reconciliation Package to come right along with it. So avoiding friction on that is going to be key for Speaker Pelosi, and we heard in her weekly Press Conference Today that, hey, it defends on what happens in the senate. So whats shes going to do is try to walk that tightrope because we know that bipartisan package is widely popular and we also know there is a lot in the Reconciliation Package. So emphasizing but those additions are whether its access to early childcare or paid medical leave, access to universal prek, all of the positives included in what they are doing and that Reconciliation Package should be Front And Center as a reason why it needs to get to the house and passed through the senate. And Bill Kristol, what about the republicans In The House in the senate, what part of that crazy caucus, what about mainstream republicans outside of elected government who would like to see something of a republican party once again or a party that puts forward normal but conservative proposals, where is that at right now .
