Eighties. Do you remember the movie the Princess Bride . And billy crystals character, Miracle Max . He came to mind for some of us when we were thinking about the few days in congress. Especially with infrastructure. We could soon know if the bipartisan deal is alive or dead or maybe, as lyrical max would say, its only mostly dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. Senators from both parties say that theyre close to finalizing a deal, maybe as soon as tomorrow. We are down to the last couple of items and i think youre gonna see a bill monday afternoon. Were about 90 of the way there were kind of legislative language with colleagues and with staff and i feel good about getting it done this week. We have one issue outstanding. But that outstanding issue is big. How much to spend on transportation projects. Democrats want to follow whats known as the 80 20 rule. 20 will go to Public Transit and 80 would go to highways but many republican senators are advocating for a smaller share to Public Transit. House democrats have warned against negotiating away too much. Washington State Privilege i have said if they want to address Climate Change without taking on the biggest polluters and transportation, quote, what are we doing, unquote. Another issue is the timing. Remember, there are two Infrastructure Bills. The bipartisan Infrastructure Bill focuses on socalled hard infrastructure. Roads, bridges, tunnels, that kind of thing. Democrats hope to pass that with at least ten republican votes. A larger bill focuses on Human Infrastructure. Democrats intend to pass that through reconciliation with a simple majority vote. This, Week House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she would not hold a vote on the hard Infrastructure Bills, the bipartisan one, until the human and full Structure Bill passes. But the August Recess is right around the corner and if we dont make it to that did start going through the bills pockets for loose change. Meanwhile, there were some Developments Today with the House Select Committee thats investigating the right at the capitol. Today, Speaker Pelosi announced that republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger of illinois would be a member. His statement, Congressman Kinzinger wrote, quote, i swore an oath to uphold and defend the constitution. And while this is not the position i expected to be in or sought out, when Duty Calls i will always answer. Unquote. Another key member of the committee is Liz Cheney of wyoming. Her role has been growing on the committee after Minority Leader Kevin Mccarthy pulled his other nominees a few days ago. Speaker pelosi vetoed two of his picks, congressman Jim Jordan of ohio and Jim Banks Of on January 6th. The select committees first hearing is set for tuesday. Expectations are high, including for maryland governor. We have to get to the bottom of whats happening there, and theres no whitewashing. We have to get to all the facts and find exactly what happened. But there is no way to just overlook this and say it didnt happen. The nonsense of that, these were just peaceful tourists tourists is completely absurd. Lets kick it off tonight with Congressman Ro Khanna of california. His district in the Bay Area include San Jose and santa clara. Congressman khanna, good to see you again. Welcome. Joshua, always good to be on. Lets start with the January 6th commission. What are your drop that must dues for what this commission has to accomplish or has to uncover . Josh, would they just have to get the facts. They have to get thorough investigation and i give the speaker tremendous credit. Its a bipartisan commission with Liz Cheney and adam kinzinger. But there are a lot of republican members of congress who also want the facts. Its not just the few highprofile people like Tevin Earthy appointed to try to disrupt the commission. Many people privately want the commission to do its job. And i think the american people have answers. Regards to the witnesses we see cold, who will be on your list . You have said that Donald Trump might need to be questioned. What about other people . Some have said the congressman Jim Jordan should be called as well. Who would you like to see on the Witness List . While the many people i would like to see actually are the secretary of defense at the time and some of the generals who were interested. Why did it take so many hours to have any response to the capitol . And that leaves us vulnerable, not just as members of congress but if youre a foreign adversary looking at this and you say the knighted states cannot protect the most important institution of democracy and it took 5 to 6 hours, it makes us vulnerable. So we need to figure out what we were wrong and how to prevent that from happening again. The barriers around the Capitol Complex came down not too long ago. How safe do you feel, congressman, right now just working on Capitol Hill . I personally feel safe. Im glad that the barriers are no longer there. I love one constituents and people can interact with congress as the hallmark of democracy but i am concerned particularly for our Police Officers every day. Im going, i see that theyre standing outside. Cars are coming. Its not an easy job, im concerned for law enforcement. Im concerned for some of the staff and i really hope that a lot of thought has gone into protecting them as well. Let me get your reaction to one of the members who Speaker Pelosi kept off of the committee, congressman Jim Banks Of indiana. Heres part of what he said today on Fox News sunday. Watch. She claimed that the reason she booted me from the committee was because of antics on the part of Jim Jordan and in hindsight, whatever elis is what she means by that now is that we were prepared to ask questions that No One Else has asked and demand answers as to why the capital was vulnerable to an attack on January 6th. Why was there a systemic breakdown of security at the capitol on January 6th . If youre gonna investigate january six, why not ask those questions . How do you react to that . I dont know what hes talking about. We have asked those questions. Im on the oversight committee, and you can look at the transcript. Almost every member of congress has asked about why was there a Security Breakdown . Why was there not a stronger anticipation by Capitol Police and why was there not a stronger anticipation by the secretary of defense . The reason he wasnt included and the committee is because hes downplayed the fact that it was an insurrection. I dont understand, if you dont believe it was an insurrection why do you want to investigate the insurrection . Well, with regards to that and the bipartisan nature of the committee at least its efforts to be as bipartisan as possible, but He Thompson of mississippi is chairman of the committee. Heres part of what he said regarding the inclusion of Congressman Kinzinger. The congressman is a welcome addition to the committee. Hes demonstrated that he can express his opinion despite what some of his republican colleagues might not want him to express. So independent voice to this select committee is always welcome. Congressman, how bipartisan do you think this committee is going to be in practice and is going to be perceived that is by the american people . Very bipartisan. I think benny trumps an is a phenomenal chair. Hes from mississippi, hes from the south. Hes not, quote unquote, of the progressive wing of the party like i am. He works across the aisle all the time and hes somewhat i think people will trust. He hasnt mendes moral credibility and i think the way he conducts the hearing will give them come the days so it was a tremendous pick to have him in charge. Have to ask you about the Infrastructure Deal before i let you go. How optimistic are you that will have even just the full text of the Deal Tomorrow to begin moving through the process . You know, i dont know the bipartisan deal. I will say the most important part is the reconciliation, not just for Human Infrastructure as you pointed out child, character minority college, but also for the infrastructure itself. It has a much more robust broadband permission. It has a more robust productive vision. One final point, Charles Blow has an oped in the New York times that every person should read. He says, more important than rosa rights and that we have not done enough to actually rise to this moment. The President Hasnt done enough. We need to get rid of the filibuster and i hope people were freed his oped. I also have to ask you regarding the Infrastructure Bill, about the wildfires in the west. Im thinking of south where you are, there are very very dry. And a number of the wildfires have been burning all around the state. Theres no reason why the Bay Area might not be the next tinderbox to explode with just the right spark, im sorry to say. How confident are you that the Infrastructure Package will address some of your constituents concerns with the possibility, lets be clear, of wildfires breaking out in some of the most industrial and important parts of the Bay Area in terms of its economy . Joshua, im very concerned for the Bay Area and as you know, the reason that these fires are so dangerous is that we have hotter and drier weather. The biggest thing we need to do in the Reconciliation Bill is tackle Climate Change. Im confident didnt reconciliation does that. Beyond, that were gonna need federal funds to make sure that we have the appropriate response to make sure that we ultimately have prescribed burns and mitigation techniques so that we dont have the wildfires that weve seen oregon in california. And im confident congress will be there. It was always unsettling for me living in the Bay Area could knowing that the smoke coming over Mount Diablo towards San Francisco was not too far away that it could not happen in the city or along send Mateo County or right along the peninsula. This is both an urban and a rural problem in Northern California and i hope it gets dealt with quickly. Congressman Ro Khanna of california, thank you so much. Thank you. Lets continue with those wildfires. With the town of paradise in Northern California. Hey scott. Joshua, how bad is this Wildfire Season . It now extends to 12 western states. Some 86 fires have burned nearly one and a half million acres and its only july. And now we hear the impact may go beyond the fire zones. When you look at the air around us, im in paradise, california. This was the sight of that horrible campfire that killed 85 people back in 2018. Theres a new fire burning about 15 miles to the northeast here. You can see what its doing to the air. Well they were looking at a similar situation last year around this time in reno, nevada. So researchers at that Desert Institute decided to look at the correlation between these particles in the air. What they call pm 2. 5, Particulate Matter less than two and a have migrants. And the pandemic. And what they found when they looked at 66,000 patients at a regional medical center, it could lead to an 18 increase in covid cases. Although researchers say they arent sure exactly why. One of the possible mechanisms could be that the Virus Particles are adhering to the particles in the air so that when we inhale that into our lungs were essentially transporting the by virus into our lungs which could cause more infections. Theres other possibilities as well. It could be that the pm 2. 5 is damaging our lungs and that makes us more at risk of infection. It could also be that people, because of the wildfires are spending more time indoors. There are a couple of differences between now and last year. Number one, we have a vaccine. But also, we have the Delta Variant. Experts are saying its all the more reason to get vaccinated. And even if you are, try and avoid staying out an air like this. Joshua. Thank you scott. Robert moses has died. He was a voting Rights Activists known for registering black voters in mississippi in the 1960s. Bob moses, live to be 86. That fight for equal access to the Ballot Box continues today. A new report from the Britain Center shows that between january and july, these 18 states passed 30 laws that restrict voter access. They include crackdowns on mailin and early voting, harsher voter i. D. Requirements, and Voter Rule purges. This month, democrats in the Texas Legislature have left town for washington d. C. That move temporarily prevented passage of a restrictive ot bill in texas. The delegation asked congress to take action on Voting Rights. Senator Mark Warner of Virginia Signal that there may be progress on that front. Believe when it comes to Voting Rights, when it comes to that basic riGht To exercise and participate in democracy, i get very worried whats happening in some of these states. And if we have to do a small carve out on filibuster for Voting Rights, thats the only area where i would allow that kind of reform. Joining us now is sean moralesdoyle, hes Acting Director of the voting Rights Program at the brand center. Mr. Moralesdoyle, good evening. Welcome. Thanks for having me. What are you seeing in the run up to these bills that stands out to you . The latest report calls us the most aggressive wave of restrictions in more than a decade, motivated by allegations of Voter Fraud that it describes as false and often races. Yes, i mean if we track these laws every year. Weve been tracking for over a decade and as you said its the worst Thing Weve seen. They really go after every aspect of mailin voting, early voting, voter registration, Criminalized Behavior by elections officials. They make the job of Poll Workers harder. They do so many different things to make it harder for folks to vote. And as you said, theyre driven by the Big Lie and buy lies about how our elections work and they seem to be coming as a backlash to some of the best Voter Turnout that weve seen in the last year. Is this all on the socalled Big Lie . Or are there other factors behind this to . I mean, as i said, i think part of it is the fact that we saw so many voters turning out last year. We see changing demographics its turning out as well. But yes, a big part of this is that there are so many legislators around the country willing to run with this why, and willing to run with the idea that Election Integrity or stop some problem of Voter Fraud one thats not the problem our democracy is facing. And instead, the problem our democracy is facing, frankly, are these restrictive laws making it harder for people to vote. Are there any one or two of these laws that concern you the most . Any that stand out . Yes, a report says that there are 18 states that enacted 30 laws but its actually worse than that because there are a few states that have been up the bills that have many restrictive provisions in them which is the bills in Georgia And Florida and iowa. We see texas repeatedly trying to do the same thing and of course right now, they dont have a quorum there. But they promised to continue calling them back. And those bills just contain provisions that go after so many different pieces of the way that voting works. And some of them contain provisions that also seem to be aimed at subverting elections going at the elections officials that run elections to make it harder for them to do their job and potentially take power out of their hands and those are really the people we rely on to make sure democracy works. So talk to the people who may or may not believe the Big Lie in varying degrees and who say, you know, i dont necessarily believe what Donald Trump says but why not make Voting Systems more secure . Why not improve elections . What is the harm and trying to pass laws that tighten up the electoral systems . What would you say to them . I would say there is no harm and making our elections better. But these bills dont do that. They dont make our elections different. They dont fix the things that we need to do in order to make our elections more secure. We could be doing things like limiting audits or making sure that there is Paper Trail for every ballot in order to make elections more secure. Instead, with these bills are doing is theyre making it harder for people to vote and that doesnt make our elections anymore to care. It just makes them less inclusive. And i think americans across the country really agree that what we want is an inclusive democracy. We want our democracy to count every vote. And these bills are getting in the way of that. Theyre not making any constituent. So what would you like to see done . The Brennan Center has signed a letter alongside more than 150 other Voting Rights groups asking President Biden to work with congress and pass voting Rights Legislation by, quote, whatever means necessary. What would you like to see done at the federal level and then maybe one has to be done beyond that . Maybe things that perhaps the president cannot do unilaterally. Yes, i think what needs to happen is congress needs to act. It was good to hear Senator Warner just now. Congress needs to pass the for the people act to set a new national standard for voting to make it impossible for states to pass so many of these laws with regard to federal elections and congress also needs to restore the voting Rights Act which twice in the last Decade Theyve done major harm to the voting Rights Act. They reddit narrowly instruct on the piece of it. Congress needs to restore it and so they need to pass both the for the people act in the john does voting Rights Act. Thats the only way that were gonna get to a place where our democracy allows everyone to vote and youre riGht To vote doesnt depend on where you live, and we dont have to constantly be fighting these battles in State Legislatures and in the state courts, and federal courts to stop these bills from going into effect. And briefly before i have to let you go, ive heard a lot of pessimism Slash Cynicism for a number of our viewers who feel like this is the beginning of the end of the democracy. We are screwed. This is basically like our democracy on the decline. What gives you the most hope that Voting Rights can and will be protected in this country before we go . I think it gives me the most hope is that the issue of Voting Rights has risen to the top of the list of priorities for voters across this country. Theres a reason why the first bill introduced in the house and the senate was the for the people act. Congress is hearing your viewers. Theyre hearing their constituents care more about this than anything else, and so that is also why we are seeing legislators tried to restrict access to voting. This is becoming an issue that everyone is paying attention to. And while right now theres some bad things happening, that gives me hope that eventually we are going to be able to make those good things happen to. And congress will act, State Legislatures will act, and we will continue to strengthen this democracy for everyone seeing it decline. Sean moralesdoyle, from the Brennan Center. Thank you very much. What you whisper in secret will be shouted from the rooftops. That may have run very true with the Catholic Church this week after a scandal that raises questions about your privacy online. On tuesday, the u. S. Conference of catholic bishops announced that Monsey Or Jeffrey borough had left his position as its general secretary. The resignation came shortly before an investigative report that a catholic newsletter called, the pillar. The report accused him of Frequenting Gay Bars and being active on a Queer Dating App called crater. And so how do they figure this out . Well according to the pillar, they had commercially available records from a Mobile Device correlated to barrel. They apparently analyze the data and found that monsey new York Borough quote, visited gay bars and private residences while using a location based hookup in numerous cities from 2018 to 2020. Now, grindr is responding to this report. The company told the washington post, quote, we do not believe grinder is the source of the data. The u. S. Conference of catholic bishops who brought used to Work Fort released a statement, quote, in order to avoid becoming a Distraction Monsey New York has resigned effective immediately. That conference takes all misconduct seriously and will pursue appropriate steps to address them. So what does this tell us about just how private our digital data is . Lets dive into it with professor ben zhao, he teaches Computer Science at the university of chicago. Professor zhao, welcome to the program. Thanks, really happy to be here. So what were talking about here is the anonymous data. And what i understand is basically its like digital detective work. Not that they take the data and flip it over and see the details but to find other data that reveals information about this anonymous data. Do i have that right . ,. Yes, they use other methods and other external information that basically correlate that information back to a particular Person Or Identity and that has the effect which is basically reclaiming that Persons Identity and associate with that data. How hard are easy is it to do this . The pillar says that it obtains commercially available records of Apps Signal data and so basically they just knew where to buy this Guys Information . Yes, there is an entire ecosystem of marketplace of data and usually in an aggregate form. So companies, a lot of Mobile Apps and applications take that are identifiable information like names and patching it up in some sort of Aggregate Format and sell it to advertisers. Its not surprising that someone was able to get this data. How concerned should we be about this . I know theres been more of an effort to give users of Mobile Devices more control over their data. Apple updated ios to allow you to tell apps on your phone not to track you, but if so much of our data is aligned and the way how much control do we actually have over really being anonymous online . Right, so thats a really good question. I think one is that its great when apple is doing, really improving personal privacy. But i want to point a little bit of distinction between personal data thats on the line, on web, versus personal that on your Mobile Device. Your Mobile Devices with you 24 7 potentially and in this case as many awesome many people who you are, seeing with, being, with whats businesses you frequent. And so all of that is extremely private information well beyond for example your Home Page and what you post online and so that i think is a whole different level. And again i think theres a big discrepancy between the level of privacy people actually have versus what we think we have. And this is a perfect demonstration. If you really want someones personal data and you want to dive into it and do this type of the anonymous is a shun, in many cases its very possible. Its difficult to do at scale but if you want to target a single person and trying to find out their whereabouts with their data, its not terribly difficult. I have to say that the story is probably gonna rows a lot of different people depending on their views for me as a gay man, this is kind of horrifying because we already know that there are situations where game and have hooked up on apps like Grinder And Scruff and others and then been attacked by the person who hooked up with them or been stopped by somebody who would just not leave them alone because they knew how to use the apps data to track them. So this feels like the kind of thing that couldve gotten very scary very quickly. What should we do to protect ourselves if there is this much data floating around with us at all times that all kinds of acts can track whether were using the astronaut. What do we do . You know, thats a really good question and to be honest right now theres not a whole lot that we as users can do. You can basically get off of applications that make users personal location information. At least, i think with apples new Offering System Theyve become much more transparent which authorizes the so you have more control over which apps have that access but once that data is in the persons hands, its out of your control. And your Terms Of Service, youre basically giving up access to that data and youre allowing them based on their Terms Of Service to do things to it. In this case, is a high Profile Case by nature but you can easily imagine scenarios where individuals are bullied or tracked or stopped by have no highprofile nature like this one. And so this presumably is entirely possible and could be happening on a daily basis to users and a location based application. And unfortunately, thats the state of the world today. This might be a good time for people who use Mobile Devices a lot to check which ones are using your Location Services. Go to your settings, click Privacy And Location services and itll give you a list of every app that uses your location and under what circumstances whether it can use it all the time or uses it while the opposite open or never. Go to settings, then privacy, that Location Services and you can see which apps are tracking location. University of Chicago Professor ben zhao, Professor Zhao appreciate it. Doctor britney describe the moments right before into patient, one patients begged for the vaccine. Her words, im sorry but its too late. Joining us now is doctor calvin sun, hes an Emergency Room Doctor here in new York City. Doctor sun, welcome. Thank you for having me. How much of your day these days as covid cases versus other emergencies that the er sees on a regular basis . I imagine the balance of that has shifted as the pandemic has gone on, but what is it like now . I have a unique perspective of being in multiple Emergency Rooms and urgent care centers now. Im kind of burns out after last years on trying to mix it up a bit and its a very interesting to see that in new York City, im seeing a lot of covid positive resurging and theyre not as sick and theyre coming with a mild symptoms and were seeing increasing cases but still mostly Non Covid. If Anything Covid releases of had this week are formally Anti Vaxxers asking for the vaccines and privacy i dont think theyre telling anyone else, about it but in vaccinating the so thats what im seeing right now and were gonna have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks before Symptoms Exposure to get worse to see if they start restarting a resurging in our. You said that you are somewhat burned out after last year . What was the last rowing to the he had to make a change . It was like the last dry was happening every day for 60 days straight in many different Emergency Rooms. Doesnt different Emergency Rooms, i was in them, to see if i had a different experience to see if its better or worse in one system or the other. And he was everywhere. And the lack of ppe, its seeing my colleagues diana sisterly, i think, you know, it was still work Emergency Rooms, but i needed to do something different because i cannot deal with the fact that they were doing this every day. The fact that this can happen anytime soon. How are you doing . Now is it easier to deal with . Have you found more supporters its still as hard as it was when you started kind of working in multiple ers . Well, its much better to be fully vaccinated. I think about this you are in a place when youre in a place you can control. That i now have bulletproof vests. Thats the vaccine. Will it prove us not the solution to gun violence, but it will lower the risk of death once i get, or if i get exposed. Which is pretty much every day. So, its a lot better but its also kind of also confusing and complicated given the fact that they are all having misinformation going on. Theres a lot of time i have to spend explaining patients you know why things are the way they. Our combat misinformation. We have a new Pandemic And Misinformation which i think is causing more harm right now than what we are seeing from the vaccine, or mostly anything else. You mentioned something interesting. The number of people you are seeing who are kind of a valid antivaxxers. But they come to you seeking the vaccine. And this gets is something that i suspect about our coverage. Which is what were hearing from people who post vaccine on the record, national television is very different than what they tell theiR Doctor Behind Closed Doors when the cameras are not looking, and they are not on the record. I mean, we would not expect somebody to opposes vexing to say to a national reporter, that theyre not gonna change their mind because then, i saw you on cnn and then i heard what you said. What are you seeing in terms of people who say they did not want the vaccine once theyre actually in touch with you . Its a lot of Pandemic Weve seen recently, Pandemics Of, ours Pandemics Of entitlement, misinformation. Pandemics of pride. We have people who come back from anti vaccine rallies and go to the Emergency Room and say, i need a covid test, because in a big crowd. And worried about getting covid. And im seeing all these antivaccine things, signs of the bring in and im like, well as pretty ironic. And i love the fact that theres Patient Revenue because an Attorney Buddy who it is, and they asked for the vaccine. I vaccinated two of them today, this week, excuse me. It is pretty mortifying. I do not pushing on, and over tell them to get vaccinated, im not a doctor that tells you what to do, im there to provide. But seeing how happy i am, how healthy we all are, fully vaccinated. And they ask about it. I do not push it on them. More often than not, despite, i guess by example, they kind of want to join this little exclusive club without having to tell anybody about it. I wonder if maybe doctors like you are a key to getting more people vaccinated, the cover of the orlando sentinel, the Editorial Board put in an editorial over the masthead that is just called, police florida get vaccinated this weekend. The editorial begins, we were so close, florida. So close to kicking covids ass. Clearly they are upset that florida has back slit on this. Do they think the doctors of the key. Doctors like you who can just say, go get vaccinated and nobody has to . No doesnt hope that a new York City can get vaccinated in an Emergency Room. If there are we just had it they did not demand for covid related or Non Covid related to come and see and get vaccinated, and the key i think is, we can only help the people that want to be helped. We Cant Force it on them. Because of anything thats happening, those people get vaccinated, chances are that one bad outcome, to better outcomes, that is just how life is. Then, they are going to blame it on you. You can push in on them. But if they are curious, they want to help, and they have questions, and by example, i do not push in on them, i just cannot get them to a place. Then they are ready to own this decision to get vaccinated. That way they own the decisions and i know that it comes from, them in that way they will not resent you if you know, anything bad happened. Especially when people get infected, you know people have been fully vaccinated and then they are upset that they get infected. And i tell them, just because you see someone get injured in a Car Accident where you see paul, doesnt mean that i stop wearing seatbelts. Just because somebody wears helmets when it falls on the head, doesnt mean that i stop wearing helmets. Just because i see someone get sick, while being fully vaccinated does not mean that it will stop being fully vaccinated. So, by explaining to them like that, you are getting them their purpose, or the only decision on wanting to get vaccinated without having to control people. You give them you know their choice. And i guess, contain your privacy. It also might be safe to be vaccinated. And again, misinformation is predominant. All right, before we go lets read some emails. Yesterday, we asked how the recent space flights by Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos have affected you. Judy writes, i have heard the criticism from many about the last three spaceflight by civilian billionaires. But the one thing i took from this History Making Venture is that its the beginning of possible civilian Space Mining for cheaper fuel sources, other manufacturing orders. As well as civilian space travel. Its what the Human Animal has always done. Explored, expanded, and reached up for future experiences. Everything start somewhere and i have witnessed the beginning of future space travel. I just wish i could be around to see how far it goes. I will have to, however, leave that for the very young generation. Happy trails. John writes, i must say that while watching the floyd some selves may be entertaining and amazed that they work so it was fruitlessly, im dismayed by what appears to be the callousness and Cavalier Attitude displayed by Masters Branson and bezos towards those who funded these messages. Even as mr. Bezos went so far as to say thank you to all who paid for his. All of this while lavishly spending huge sums of money on what is essentially a new toy for those who can afford this level of spending, at the same time avoiding the payment of taxes that average working people must pay under penalty of low. The takeaway here is simply how far out of touch the wealthy have become with the working class, single parents, those who most were two or more jobs just to put food on their table, those who must rely on public assistance and more. In short, its a disgrace and shame. Donna from washington writes, how do i feel about the space flights . They are so cool i am sorry for the people who have lost their ability to feel sheer joy at space exploration. And bezos thanking the for helping get him into space . I say you are welcome i feel excited that we, as amazon customers, shared in this dream and i do feel a part of it. I am claiming my part in it and No One can take that excitement away for me. Finally, matthew from california writes, the day that Jeff Bezos returned from his trip to space funded by his amazon billions, i received this check in the i have no choice to use my music on amazon in 2020. The check is for two cents. So i want to give bezos my two cents. You need to do a lot more than thank Amazon Users and employees for paying for your trip. You need to make reparations for all of the damage you have done to culture, small bookstores, musicians, employees, and the environment. Instead of going to space, concentrate on making life on earth sustainable by combatting Climate Change and reducing inequality. Amazon needs to reverse course in so many ways and you need to make amends for what you have done. Thank you for sharing your stories and thank you as always for making time for us.
