Some of it is also, i think its important to say i think a lot of progressives are going towards things that dont actually make a difference. Masks outdoors dont seem to do anything to combat covid, wearing a mask after youre vaccinated doesnt seem to matter and so its messy but its becoming a lot less messy because what is happening is that more progressive people are getting the point of vaccination. They really are just crushing disease. I mean, you look at communities where theyve got Vaccination Rates on the seventies, eighties, and even nineties. And covid is just going away. And then you look at rural counties like arkansas and missouri where Vaccination Rates are like 25 . You combine it with this highly contagious variant, and we see the surge of covid and so you look at the nationwide one on other cases and its flat. But with that hides that covid is plummeting in metropolitan america and is on the rise in small towns and in rural areas. And its scary. That point about the messiness is important. I remember we did a segment early on about how West Virginia was doing a really good job ahead of their states. Theres lots of ways in which the data doesnt sort in this kind of red blue way. But one of the things that i find so hard to get my head around here is when you have the locked down and you have this argument, and i disagree with the people on the other side about it. Low hospitalization, almost no deaths. We have no vaccination, here have higher levels of infection, higher risk of hospitalization. It is not complicated, chris. You said it passionately, i agree with you. This is not complicated. We are not asking anybody to make any political statement one way or another. We are saying, try and save your life, and that of your family, and that of the community. We have so many things, as you said, so many diseases, that idea with, that dont have solution. You dont have a treatment, you dont have a vaccine, and here we have a vaccine that is highly effective in preventing diseases, certainly in preventing severe disease and hospitalization. All this does is anger the community that the police need cooperation from, to deal with the violence in most communities. Where does were, there are a lot of community based interventions, things like youre violence, credible messengers, they can step in and deal with the violence. Weve also seen things like Job Programs for young man in intercity and after school programs. All these things are demonstrate to bring down the violence, thats the direction we need to be looking.
