Remember, mike said he was home in florida when she went missing, which detectives needed to confirm. What are you looking for in florida . He said he was housesitting for his dad that saturDay. His dad was out of town. He fed the horses and he was hanging out with different guys, so we located those people, interviewed them. We got video of him at a Convenience Store in his hometown, so he was there. What time was that video taken . Around noon on saturDay. So that doesnt necessarily mean he wasnt in fayetteville . His father put him there, his friends put him there. You didnt feel like anybody was covering for him, or we went to the point of saying, okay, if He Premeditatedly did this, he could leave his phone in florida, bought another phone. We even checked into that. He was there. Mike bordeaux was eliminated as a suspect. So now detectives and District Attorney Billy West zeroed in on the last person seen with kelli. Everything kept coming back to Nicholas Holbert as the Prime Suspect. So investigators dug into Holberts Background and discovered something rather disturbing. He was a registered Sex Offender and served time in a penitentiary for that. It certainly was a red flag, the fact that he had a prior Sex Offense and he is the last person thats seen with kelli. We told him to go for it. He had common sense. We were okay with him trying to befriend him. Marshburn is a private eye, not a police officer. He had his Wife Pose as a Paralegal And Drop phony Indictment Papers charging holbert with kellis murder. I took one of his old charges, changed who the detective was, changed the charges. He was being indicted and i got cc, my Paralegal Person on the phone who is your wife . Yeah, who is helping me. The plan was working good and he was worried. Holbert took one look at the Indictment Papers and went into a panic. Sensing nick was near his Breaking Point Marshburn reminded him about the Sweetheart Plea Deal if he confessed so they took a ride to Froggy Bottoms back to where it all began. I said, look, nick, youre fixing to be indicted on this. They evidently got evidence. You need to tell me what happened. The middle youre probably not sure, its fuzzy, you got tunnel vision. And i took cass and me and Cass Marshburn and cass spent the next several hours combing through the thick woods, trying to get a scent of Kellis Grave. This morning, detectives with the fayetteville Police Department Homicide Unit recovered what we believe to be the remains of private First Class Kelli Bordeaux. By now, Kellis Family had gotten the news. She was at work. He called me and was like, you need to come to moms now. They found kelli. And i remember dropping the phone to the floor, like ill be right there. And then its a sense of relief. Instead of wondering, what if, what if, what if, what if. Olivia called Kellis Boyfriend, Justin Thompson. As soon as she called, i just knew they found her. I was just so grateful. Honestly, i was just so happy that she was found. I cant say happy relieved . Yeah, i guess i was relieved. I was like sad again all over again. Now were going to have to do the funeral thing. Two weeks later, they paid their final respects.
