What is the danger here for democrats . There is that economic message which is critical. Biden has made some good steps forward as far as immediate relief for people but the idea of the democratic party being socialist which we know is not true but it was well branded by republicans. They didnt talk about sanctions or anything like that, but when a Secretary Of State, any Secretary Of State, any administration uses language like that, holding someone accountable, that matters. And the final point, and i think ill keep this brief, it matters so much, right . And this is core to how the biden administration thinks about the pandemic. They dont necessarily think this is going to be the last pandemic. The stakes are high, the consequences are real, and this appears to be a whole of government, coordinated effort that theyre doing, trying to figure out what happened . Hans, axios has also got some reporting on Big Tech and their influence in politics. Or frankly, lack thereof, because theyve got problems on both sides of the aisle. Oh, this is something you have been picking up on The Hill for several weeks now, several months, several years. Theres conservative and theres liberal frustration with Big Tech. Now, what were reporting new, my colleague, kim hart, is the idea that the american principles project, this is a new organization, is really pressuring conservatives not to take Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/tech-money'>Tech Money. And yes, weve had a big conversation, not just since Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/january-6th'>January 6th about corporations not giving to republicans and shutting out republicans, this is a version of that. Its polluted. And thats a different front on this fight. Its upstream from the fight thats going to be downstream, which is going to be a really wonky conversation about what to do about section 230 and how you regulate antitrust. It seems as though some conservatives are trying to play the long game and trying to make sure that intellectually, theyre not polluted or corrupted and they dont take any of Big Techs money. Well see, though, because its nice to say youre not going to take big Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/tech-money'>Tech Money if youre starting up a new group and Big Tech is offering you a lot of money, you might be tempted to take it. Case kasie . And of course, and a lot of reporting about Third Party groups who may be willing to take money and where thats coming from. Hans, something you focus on quite a bit, the most recent jobs from friday, heading into a week where biden will continue these infrastructure talks. Were talking about whether unemployment should continue to be extended, et cetera. What does that report tell you about bidens policies so far on the economy . Reporter unfortunately, it doesnt tell us a lot, right . This is a split decision. It didnt give this Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/jobs-report'>Jobs Report didnt give a strong argument to either side on whether or not the additional money coursing tHrough the economy is working. The biden administration have an excuse, a reason, an argument for saying why the economy needs more money. Conservatives and republicans can say, heres why the money thats out there, the 1. 9 trillion actually isnt working.
