Im also honored to have a chance to stand the incredible team of people who brought our vision for washingtons historic old Post Office to life. With a notable exception of 1600 pennsylvania avenue, this is the most coveted piece of Real Estate in washington d. C. The best location. Trump international reality, this will be one of the great hotels, anywhere in the world. Is it . Was it . Well the Real Estate is not the issue right now. It was whether there were crimes committed in dealing with it, selling it, lying about it to regulators. The government. All of this under a microscope. Only Donald Trump knows what he and the company did. Its not just the washington hotel. Pulled prosecutors are digging into different property. Trumps Los Angeles Golf course. Taken together we are starting to get a wider Picture Or Map of this investigation sprawling Coast To coast. Trumps upstate New York, also known as seven springs. Trump tower in chicago being reviewed. Trump national Golf Course in los angeles. And now, the washington hotel. And what you see on your screen, which may give pause to anyone involved in any deal our marketing, or other Government Description of these properties, that may have been inaccurate or illegal is just the pieces that have leaked into the public realm. We dont know, that we do not believe that this is all there is. Clouds hanging over Trump World. The Grand Jury convened. The prospect of prison time raised for anyone that is looking found the barrel of this legal, Criminal Probe. Prosecutors surging as they examined whether the Trump Organization cheated and lied about evaluations. Defrauded the government or the taxpayers. Or could committed any other assortment of criminal conspiracies. To dig into a story that has moved in many directions. Were joined by danya perry, former prosecutor with the fdny. Rebecca roiphe, former District Attorney for manhattan. And joan walsh, for the journalistic perspective from the nation. Good to All Of You have All Of You. Here before we dig deep. This is the first time joan, i believe ive been able to catch up with you before the first story broke. Im curious, big picture, well get to our seem counselors here but big picture of what do you see here . And the prospect of a type of accountability for potential misconduct, alleged misconduct, according to some of the witnesses weve heard from on this very program, that donald Trump Ctv for so long . P ctv for so long . I think All Of Us reading today, watching television today, looking at all these emerging facts are feeling a little bit better about the prospects for justice. Because we know that this man, regardless of how he became president , leslie that side we know that he has been Scamming A Public Sector for a long time. We know that he has been we have evidence that he has been not truthful about the evaluations of various properties. He says he lists something as high when that makes sense. Its valued less when that helps him on the other hand. I think there is something really symbolic and important about the d. C. Property coming into this probe as well. Because that just always was a sore. Watching foreign people, our allies, our enemies, who ever, wealthy people, come to d. C. And spend their money there. It was legal bribery. Except it wasnt legal. I think we are starting to get a sense of how large this investigation is. How much he is liable for. And i look forward to a continuing. And i look forward to learning more. And i look forward to listening to the learned lawyers we have with us, because they are the ones who can tell us what is really going on. Me too, that takes us right to rebecca. You know what most of us dont. Which is how these types of probes are actually operated inside of a Das Office. From the publicly available information, what we just saw on the map, what do you think is happening here . I agree that this looks really shady. One thing to be cautious about is that there are a lot of shady things that are not crimes. And then there are a lot of crimes that are really hard to prove. Right now, the Das Office is trying to put together this evidence and put it before the Grand Jury in such a way that establishes whatever crimes they are looking for. And it is really hard to know at this point what those are. By agree, especially that d. C. Property has become symbolic of the kind of populists and grift for trump critics. And whether that is criminal or not, it just remains to be seen. Just remains appreciate the Md Approach here taking. Thats part of why we talk to folks who know what the high bar is to do this. Danya, i want to read from some of the other reporting and your analysis. The Manhattan Da could pursue a kind of Racketeering Charge. Quote, new Yorks Enterprise Corruption statue, which carries the potential for severe penalties, can be a plight of moneymaking businesses alleged to be have repeatedly engage in criminal activity as a way to boost their bottom line. Danya as the state and brought to local level, a larger conspiracy or racketeering. Danya i never make assumptions, i dont know if you listen to Jay Gray can meet mail, but they have that great song rico, where they said everyone is home for the summer, lets not do something illegal. We might just get hit with the rico. Im curious whether you think any of that is relevant here . When you put at that map it does Paint A Picture and certainly the prosecutors from at least two offices are looking to connect got their. Look, there are different prosecutorial philosophies. They may very well want to make a sprawling Racketeering Charge that will encompass all of these properties, perhaps more. Perhaps also, Tax Fraud of various types. Perhaps insurance fraud, Mortgage Fraud, bank fraud. There are any number of possible charges that are in the books that reporting would suggest could be coming. But prosecutors also very well might do that or they might separate out into separate charges each of these properties. Yes, and when going to jump in for two reasons. One, weve got frozen on your camera but we can still hear your voice. So will work on that. And to, i want to come back to danya, but also play a little bit of what we heard from a former Trump Executive about these things. Cooking. Numbers take a listen. I actually went through a situation where i was asked to literally build false financials for my business. And then it went to Donalds Office and donald said, did Robert Harvey talk to you about the numbers . I said, yes they, did. But let me explain why i cant redo the numbers because they wont be true. And he just said, we need new numbers. Rebecca, give us the legal view on that. Everyone who wants to be as charitable as possible was a sure, theres all sorts of tough, hard pushing on Wall Street with companies to get the best possible look. And then there is still a line, right . There is a Line Pass which it can become criminal. Explain what prosecutors would look at here . The thing is, it is really hard to prove when that happens. But if you have people on the inside as danya was just saying, to connect the dots, thats the way you do it. And the other thing that is important to realize here is that on the state level, you actually have far fewer tools that you do on the federal level to bring these sorts of cases. And part of the appeal of the Rico Case is that it comes with a very high sentence. As opposed to New Yorks other statutes that tend to be the lower Level Felony that could only face maybe four years. As opposed to that rico, which would be a maximum of 25 years. So, we just dont have a Tax Fraud a statute on the state level. We have grand larceny. But that is a War Work alone. Because your intended paid back. So the tools are different. The prosecutors in this case are working with different tools and they have to be creative. One of the things about the manhattan Das Office is it is just known for prosecuting these sorts of cases. But it really has to be creative, because it just doesnt have the same tools that federal prosecutors have. So has to do things like this. So i think that is probably why youre seeing that speculation come out about the Rico Case, because there is a charge where whoever is charged would ultimately be facing a large prison term, as opposed to a shorter one. Based on the public evidence, do you see the potential rocketing here . Or do you think that is a stretch . I see it. I think it is hard. I think it would be hard to prove in certain ways, and it has certain challenges. But it also has certain benefits. One, obviously that benefit of the sentence. But it also allows the prosecutor to bring in all sorts of evidence that might be harder to bring in otherwise. Because it is such some you could bring in past wrongdoing, things that stretch back further than the statute of limitations in these other cases. And all of that evidence will help you convince a jury of the particular crimes that you are focusing on. So it really is useful, but you also want to be careful. Because if you overcharge, you could lose a Try Credibility of the jury. You want the jury to be looking you at you thinking, and nodding along. Feeling as if the prosecutor is leading them properly towards a resolution. And if you start to bring charges that seem excessive, you can lose them. That might be something that they are considering and considering which charges to bring. You just made a great point that i want to underscore. And i think our viewers who follow different types of cases may remember what youre talking about. Generally, the calendar in court is fairly narrow. Thats why you have these deadlines, statutes of limitations. Then there are these reasons, you just named one. The way that you charge a conspiracy, they allow you to bring in older stuff. We just played a Cant Clip of someone described in something that may be a pattern of criminality, or literally a new crime. Will you have a pattern of practice we get so when someone says oh, that apple, one body, one mistake. No, actually here is this other evidence that for ten years, allegedly, or some witnesses say, this is how this plays ran. A pack of lies, to put it in on legal terms as Miss Jones alluded to earlier. Joan, i also want to lead a little bit about these prosecutors who are on the case. Gary fish, i dont think is a Household Name around the country, gary fisherman i should say. Former manhattan prosecutor, veteran financial crimes investigator. Known for tenacity in legal circles. Prosecuted 100 Million dollars in Mortgage Fraud in 2000. Dont, that line really jumped out. We are credited what the journal is reminding us is that in a case like this, it is not just oh, the numbers dont match and you are done. Theres a whole cadres people. Some path with trump. Some like weisselberg are trying to find ways to be loyal to him. And a good prosecutor, to win a case like this, let alone charge it, is going to have to deal with all those people. Right, and know how to bring them along, even if they dont want to be brought along. I also think, if im not mistaken, weisselberg works this is a very unusual collaboration as weve talked about before. It is not normal for these two officers to get together. So, it strikes me that it is also good to have somebody who knows both cultures. Because some of these things have come down to cultural differences, so to speak. It is really important that they be in sync. So that was a good sign to me. But it is also a very good sign that he knows what to do with both friendly and not so friendly witnesses, because there will be a lot of both. Right, i love both. And if you go that far, you have to put it all out there in front of the jury. And show why youre here with this cast of characters, to say the least. I also want to see my apologies on the tech front. We lost danya perrys entire video when it froze. Joe knows though, i will take responsibility. We have that Tech Problem that froze right after a highly strained drake reference. And i Cant Help but wonder whether some thing awkward just froze the technology. We may never know. Good to have everybody here. Joan, go ahead. You could consider that. We consider all options. All factual possibilities. Thanks to all of our guests and kicking us off tonight. We have a short break now, just 30 seconds. But tonight, we have a report by Mitch Mcconnell may be falling into a biden trap. We also have something a very excited about. Our exclusive interview with award winning Actress And Songwriter Sharon Stone. She is here tonight. But first, a judge denies rudy Giulianis Bid to get back those 18 different devices seized by the feds. Were back in 30 seconds. Seconds my Car Insurance so i only pay for what i need. cause i do things a bit differently. Wet Teddy Bears wet Teddy Bears here only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. A major development in a whole different case. The shoe has appeared to drop in the other part of the giuliani saga. You may recall, he has been facing a criminal investigation from the very office used to run, sdny. One of the issues is whether he failed to Wear Adjuster as a foreign agent. Now the New York times reports the Justice Department Altschul also launching a Criminal Probe of the other side of that, the foreign handlers, who are allegedly were quote using giuliani to spread misleading claims about biden and trying to chill the election in trumps favor. The probe focusing on the man in the photo here, Ukrainian Lawmaker at the u. S. Government said has been a russian agent for years. Giuliani worked with him on the infamous trip to ukraine. We reported this at the time as we said it looked dodgy. We didnt say whether will be a crime. But he went there on this rightwing trip with this network oan, and it was an effort to work with those very people who look like foreign adversaries, to get involved in the u. S. Elections, to dirty up the bidens. That same person was hit with sanctions last year. Giuliani denied that he ever knew he was a russian agent. How could you not know that this person you were talking to was a known russian agent . Who graduated from kgb school. Jonathan, calm down. I dont know whats in the treasury department investigation. Nor have i ever seen any evidence that he is or is not a russian agent. So, i dont know anything about that. Hes entitled to make his defense. The evidence though will test whether that was true. What did he know and when did he know it. We all know that question before. While the doj is now doing is spurred suing to international probes that are focused on opposing ends of will always was a bizarre giuliani ukraine plot, that spelled out in so many nights on Hannity And Fox news and oan. That he publicly said yes, i am working with them and i am going after the bidens. We will let boomerang legally . Well thats under investigation. Were joined now by former fertile prosecutor john finery. We should know he did work with giuliani long before that stage of giulianis career. You can see the two men there and what i believe john was an Sdny Reunion . No, actually i had i was in a film and his wife was sponsoring It Reception in east hampton. And the guy who was the director of the movie didnt want to take a picture of me with him. Because he was so opposed to rudy giuliani. I havent talked to him since. So, it was a reunion of the two of us. It was very friendly then. Yes, at offsite reunion. The picture reminds us that and i say this in all fairness, giuliani was at one time known as a tough, sdny prosecutor. New all these are the people. Hes on the other end of this now. When you see there probing the ukrainian side, what does that tell you . Ukrainia the thing that It Tee is one of the miscast stories we get all of the time, is somehow they manipulated him and he was unwitting to what was going on. And i dont believe that. Did he lose all of his judgment . There is evidence of that in some of these public interviews. But he has gone for the Hail Mary passes. It seems to me, he has no defense for everything. So he puts it out there to annex the ties us to the significance of the admission he makes. From the beginning, he happens to be, after the 2016 election, with a russian agent in ukraine at a time when the russians are spreading the story that the ukrainians were responsible for what happened in the inference in 2016. And then, we read, at least in the press, that there were members of the Ukraine Parliament that wanted rudy to get rid of yovanovitch. We also read that as the ambassador to ukraine, because she was in the way, because regular procedures, of their notion of getting an investigation, a Bogus Investigation Of Biden and his son. This investigation drives money from ukraine through a company that rudy claims he had nothing to do with, and others say he did. Two candidates in a mega america. Four congressman in california, including by the way, the Minority Leader mccarthy. That the more important one is some funds went to pete sessions, who then were a letter to get rid of yovanovitch, to pompeo. And after that, they did. There were meetings with rudys to sidekicks, Lev Parnas and igor foreman. The app that meant that legs out that against Lev And Igor and two other people, what is their motivation to do this except to satisfy rudys objective . And the member of parliaments objectives. We see Campaign Finance charges and we see fara complaints as well. John, let me play you a new giuliani, as you expertly give us the storyline which sounds incriminating. By do want to play a little bit of giuliani talking. This is a vendetta. It should be illegal for a prosecutor to conduct a witch hunt investigation, trying to find a crime on you. Just pick somebody. Steve bannon, rudy giuliani, Donald Trump. Im going to look at his low light whole life and see if i can pin a crime on him. Thats what theyre doing to Donald Trump. Hat thats pretty funny. Lets get the whole band together again. I mean, each and every one of those people looks like a bunch of wiseguys given what we know now, and what we knew even when he was saying that. Rudy giuliani has become a big liar. Ive said this about trump and i think its become true about rudy. Except, when he admits something that is helpful to the case, you cant rely on anything else he says. I wonder if when bourbon left office, forced out of office in the southern district, after the indictment in the southern district that lightens the scheme we are talking about, that they didnt have an agreement like a Project Manager who offloaded the investigation of York Radiance to the Eastern District. Because they couldnt trust mean justice. Now, it is possible. I dont know. It could be an impact independent investigation. But ask yourself, why is the Eastern District involved in an investigation of ukrainians . How did it start the Eastern District . An informant . The parallel is, we have at the state level, the dea and the a. G. And they are cooperating. So there is a combination of resources. I think they probably drew a line between the state and the federal investigation, for a variety of reasons. But it strikes me that everybody is getting up to ramming speed. The federal havent been doing anything. Also, realize this, in 2019, when rudy is having these conversations and so forth, some are saying he was manipulated. Well, law enforcement, back then in 2019, went up into the Eye Cloud to see what was going on in his accounts, and also his emails. And they had a Filter Team check it so they could give it to the prosecutors. And then from 2019 to 2021, that Search Warrant that they got is based on that discovery, and im sure other things. And that is how they made the search of his apartment and they made the search of his office and of his home. So, this is a circle that is closing on him. And he can go out there and do his dance in the street. But this is pretty serious stuff and he would be wise to keep his mouth such. And he is losing motions. And the Judge Today basically said, until you are charged, you dont really have any rights to any of these things that you want. To any right, and that is tg picture. A lot of this noise but he keeps losing in court, out of court. We are getting a bigger view of what is going on. And this interesting question about the Eastern District. We do know trump repeatedly meddled in the office. And we do know the sdny was looking at rudy. We know they still. Our john flattery, Thank You. The day where everything goes right. Or the one where nothing does. With Comcast Business you get the network that can deliver Gig Speeds to the most businesses and advanced cybersecurity to protect every device on it all backed by a dedicated team, 24 7. Every day in business is a big day. Well keep you ready for whats next. How does Mitch Caudle begin Comcast Business powering possibilities. Playing himself . Six criticizing mcconnell for crook eating what would be a commission to investigate the attacks of january six. The deadly insurrection. Mcconnell, admitting his focus is not on fighting the truth, but on politics. If we set up this commission, i think the basic goal of our democratic friends is to keep relitigating in public what happened back on january six. Rather than getting to a quick solution through arrest of those who did it. And security adjustments, to make sure never happens again. Fact checked, you cant relate to get something that has not been litigated yet. This would be congress says first investigation, if they want to do one. Now mcconnell is talking about the politics. It was also earlier this month that mcconnell said, he is 100 percent focused on obstruction. On stopping Anything Biden does. Then he walked it back within days, claiming that it was more complicated. Now mcconnell is slow Walking Talks on the jobs bill. Offering less than one seventh proposal in the biden plan. When you have Mitch Mcconnell obstructing this much and delaying this much, and it all happening in the open, the question becomes when, if ever, does it backfire and encourage the democrats to do everything they can without him . And right now we go to one of our deep dive political conversations here on the deep beat. Its a special day. You know what it is. It is che de. You see him right there, thats his cartoon version. Bullet enough, we have more than the cartoon. We have jake in the flesh. Political strategists whos worked on several president ial campaigns. Good to have you back, sir. Good to be back. How are you, ari . Im good, jay. Sometimes we get into the weeds we get into history. It can get a little bit complicated. This is really simple. Im curious what you think of the politics. But i do know that a lot of people around the democratic party and liberals, think enough is enough. If they are going to filibuster a fact finding commission. If mcconnell is going to repeatedly admit, whether he walks it back or not, that everything is political for him, then when does biden go bigger . When does manchin get more fortified . When do you really say, if not no, when . Yes, i mean the reality is, democrats have every right to be concerned. Because quite frankly, for a lot of democrats, progressives, they are seeing a sequel to a movie where they didnt really like the first one. And this reminded me a lot of what happened with President Obama in 2009, when he really did try to negotiate in bipartisan fashion with republicans first on the stimulus, and then secondly on the affordable care act. And what happened there was that the gop did not act like negotiating partners. They were interested in a discussion. They were really bank robbers. And what they were trying to do was trying to steal time. And they successfully got obama to concede the one thing they really wanted, which was time. As time went on, obama became less popular, his plans became less popular in making easier for the gop to kill the legislation. That is precisely what theyre trying to do here. They are trying to slow walk this so that biden, who is extremely popular, becomes less popular. The proposals attached to his very popular presidency, then also become less popular. And its easier for them to kill this. You made such an important break it could get lost in washington. Theres nothing neutral but negotiating for months. You put it starkly, stealing time. Could be wasting time, could be delivered strategy or not, but with mcconnell, hes got political strategies going. Thats the thing hes good at. Joe biden may not be riding the same wave, or external events may be changing. Weve got Manchin Today sounding more frustrated with mcconnell. Take a look. Mitch mcconnell makes it extremely difficult and theres no excuse. Theres no excuses. Its purell politics, and its really just so disheartening. Politics and i never thought i would see it up close and personal, the politics would trump our country. And im going to fight to save this country. Jay . To be honest, Joe Manchin is not in the congress of 2000. Nine anybody who was would not be surprised. This is the same playbook the gop is running again. The one thing i will say, that should give liberals and democrats pause before they criticize biden is how biden handled the stimulus. He did the smart thing, brought in republicans, met with, them and he decided on a partisan Party Line Vote to pass the stimulus. Thats how he did it. Part of it has to go to a study i remember seeing axios are done. Theres a Think Tank named populist. What they pointed out was something every person in politics knows, which is voters dont care about bipartisanship. What they do care about is respect. They want Joe Biden to show respect to republicans, which is what he did. He met with them, talked with them, hes doing that right now. He showing them respect, and you have to doesnt make any difference. [inaudible] what matters is you engaged in it. Hes probably one of the most shy people ive ever met in my life. Many of the characters seem extroverted, right . Yes, because ive played about a lot of antisocial characters who are without regard for others. Did you find the career to you to certain characters because thats where opportunities were . Or you like doing that . I really did want the part of basic instinct. I really wanted that part because i was so fascinated by playing this person who was so complicated, but appeared so simple. Smooth, some rain. Did a lot of people just have a problem separating your character in that film from you . Dont we know your whole job, as an actor, is to become a different character, and yet they thought it was you, to some degree . You have to form a public publicity persona. I thought that was a fun good idea for me. So that i wasnt going to cry when people interviewed me. So, i got kind of sassy and funny. It was easier because what happened is people would see the film and immediately come in a room and be like this, in an interview with me, and they were scared of me because they saw the movie. You did kill a lot of people. Of course, i Ice Pick them left and right. So, that came in and look at me, i was like, oh, they are scared of me. That was kind of funny to me. I want to read from something we dug up. This is the New York times in 1994. Sharon stone as one of the top two female stars in hollywood, along with julia roberts, who plays victims in need of rescued by men. While miss stone, by contrast, is at her best for trying strong, capable women. Do you remember what that article is headlined . I dont. The ultimate question, can Sharon Stone act . Why do you think in a time when you are recognized for playing strong characters in contrast with what hollywood wanted, there is this enduring public or critical questioning of your talent . Because i think misogyny is strong and is still incredibly strong. I think if you portray strength, its easier to say that there is something wrong with you. If you are strong, and if you are smart, and if you have boundaries there must be something wrong with you. It couldnt possibly be that you are just self possessed female who has both feet on the ground. How digging that plays out in the way we deal with women in power, in government, in reality . I think we see this very strongly he even and i have to say with Liz Cheney who, lets say, i dont agree with all of her views. But i certainly agree with her Right And Ability to have them. I think she had them quite well. We are trying to i dont know how to explain it. Its almost like mccarthyism all over again. There is such an insistence that we have a common opinion about this, and a common opinion about that. And if you dont, see you later i feel that every time we do that. Its against what this country is about. Thats not democracy. You write about the difference between the critical reception of the times, which in many case just doesnt and were very well. It doesnt look all that great in the rearview. Doesnt look good in the rearview, or right out the window. You have this great line i want to read, you say a critic sees movies for free, and tells you what they think. An audience tells you how It Movie makes them feel. Yes. I have to tell you, when i was reading this, we looked to the wisdom of lyrics sometimes around here, and you write songs yourself. Oh what do you got . Youve got something . Well, i know how much you like wrap. [laughs] if you can give me a little beat box, i have a little wrapped here for you ill tell you what, because i dont know how to beat, box i wouldnt claim to. But this is like. Im On The Air with ari, Heart Beating like a ferrari. I could have been a zoo man, but i wanted to be in the room. Who would want to miss that . How can i say this in the most professional way possible . There are many people who dream to have this experience with, you so im happy you are sharing it with us. [laughs] you know. [laughs] how many songs have you written . Me . Like a couple hundred songs. The line i was thinking of that echoes from your book, if you know Method Man from wutang, he says with regard to critics, i say with it from your time, he says rap critic, he talk about it while i love it. Thats it. People say to me, you know, when was the last time you watched whatever . Im like, i dont really watch them. I love them. You know . I was there. I dont really need to go back and look at it. I was actually on the inside of it. In your world and ours, prestigious still matters to most people. Its still factored in. And the critics and the Words Figure in somehow. It seemed meaningful to you by many accounts a well deserved Golden Globe for casino. I was so shocked you looked a little surprised. [laughs] i want to relive that with you. When was the last time you saw the awards . I never did. The winner is, Sharon Stone for casino. No one is more surprised than me. Okay, its a miracle. [laughs] Thank You to the foreign Press Association for your support to me tonight and for the 19 years ive been waiting for this moment. I have to think Martin Scorsese for touching me with this incredible genius, and making room for the breadth and annoying moments of my uncontrollable passion for this part. What did it mean to you . [laughs] a lot. [laughs] its so touching to see that. It meant everything to me. I mean, i. Thought so touching. Oh, my god. Its so funny. He asked me what makes you tearful about it now . Look, i am a kid from nowhere, you know . I grew up in a farming community. I mean, there are 87 kids in my school, class, you know what i mean . It was like, really, one stock flight town. I had a very big dream that grew up from watching Black And White movies on a tv that had three channels on good days. You know . Bunny ears on top. Im not the person people pick, you know . Im like the dark of darkest horses. You know . So, i went and i told there are wang, my friend, Thank You, ari. I told, her make me address that makes me look like i jumped out of a swimming pool, please . And came over. I dont want to look like a big loser in a big puffy dress, you know . You are projecting ahead, and the industry makes you dress what you think is going to happen. You are projecting ahead to the moment when you would be the dignified loser in the background. And i wouldnt have to go through that horrible feeling. Ldnt have to go so, when i won, i was like, oh, my god . I was already a beat behind. I got up and i started up the stairs, and i didnt know what was going on. Tom hanks grabbed me by the arms and he went, you deserve this and they want a good show dont cry. I went, oh wait why . They want a good show. You deserve this, go get it i was like, oh Okay. He still took the shot once you are up there and said it was overdue . Yeah, because it was funny, you know . Just a funny. Like, it was funny i remember Steve Martin was sitting in the front and he was really laughing. I thought, oh, thats good. At least people are laughing. People were laughing, a lot of us are laughing along. This was my indepth interview with the great Sharon Stone. I want to tell you, Thats Part of our highlights. Now we begin with republican voting against the facts and the policy common sense. There is in a Race Egg of Extremism And Conspiracy theories. And also the fear of. Trump but this is playing out on a significant national security issue, live on the floor of the united states senate. Republicans using the filibuster for the first time in the biden era to block what had already been negotiated as a fully bipartisan commission, with republicans in on it. To try to get to the bottom of the January 6th right. 54 Senators Voting for it. That includes six republicans, which means a Ripple Majority in both the House And Senate want this. Back this. But in our democracy right now, that is not enough. Not enough to overcome Mitch Mcconnells obstruction. Out of fear, or fealty, to Donald Trump, the republican already prevented the american people from getting the full truth about january six. This vote has made it official. Donald trumps Big Lie has now fully enveloped the republican party. Trumps Big Lie is now the defining principle of what was once a party of lincoln. Shame on the republican party for trying to swing the horrors of that day under the rope, because theyre afraid of Donald Trump. There are plenty of areas for reasonable debate in american life and politics. This isnt one of them. We are talking about lies. We are talking about violence perpetrated on the very floor of that body. And we are talking about a foothold in the republican party that is getting worse. Nearly 75 of republicans now say they believe trumps supporters were not really to blame for the capitol attack. That is false. We witnessed the insurrection in realtime. It was an angry mob, they broke down the walls, they waved trump flags. They got there via a speech by Donald Trump on the mall. And a tweet summoning them there. And they chanted trumps slogans while also agitating for the execution of his vice president. Paul ryan, the republicans parties former speaker says this about the state of the party. We conservatives find ourselves at a crossroads. If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality, a war of secondary imitations, then we are not going anywhere. Voters looking for republican leaders want to see independence. They will not be passed by yes men flocking to maralago. This is a big deal. It is how washington ends the week. Were joined by Washington Post Columnist eugene robinson. Laura bass it and political strategist jay. Msnbc viewers were rockwall chai dropping phil knowledge. Eugene i start with you because this is serious. It is documented. On the one hand, we have a nondemocratic senate where i can report, as im doing the anchor thing, 54 senators voted for. But it didnt become law. Because they were voting on that procedural motion that Mitch Mcconnell is insist on. What do you see in where the republican party is heading . In where the republ i can see exactly whatu see whatever body else sees, ari. The republican party is some warped, smaller, twisted, distorted version of its former self. So you listen to people like paul ryan, who is a conservative, trying to speak to the republican party and, its like a complete waste of breath. The republican party is not conservative party. Right now, it doesnt believe in conserved conservative principles. Law and order is a conservative Principle And Idea of that is the party would would block an investigation into an attack on our democracy, on the citadel of our democracy, in order to stop the congress from certifying the election. In order to stop an official act of our government. That is the definition of an attack on law in order. Yet, the republican party does a care at this point. It is not it is a maga cult. It is a trump cult. And it is going to be like that for the foreseeable future. I think until it suffers one or two, or a more, crushing defeats at the polls. And that is when parties change and come to their senses. But generally not before that. So we are in for a long, sad period of this kind of behavior, i think, from the republican party. Fair. Laura, i want to look at the 9 11 example. Im not one of those people who says, remember everything used to be better awhile back. If you really make a list, a lot of things were in better. But i will say some things are getting worse. So you can chart that however you want. Because we have a very simple comparison. 9 11 was also attack on america. When it came to the Core Fact finding question of did you want a commission to look into it, it was so overwhelmingly unanimous, it is what viewers who follow politics and know as a voice vote. Nobody wanted to go on record against. Say it was unanimous voice vote. You see this today blocked with the way the senate is hijack. But even if you put aside the filibuster, laura, you have, as eugene just documented, the bulk of the republican party against finding the facts about this attack that killed officers and endangered them. I mean, youre right, about some of this. 140 people were injured in this attack. It was an attack on the senators actual, literal workplace. It was an attack on the legislative branch of this country. And you think that if anything could be bipartisan, it would be a commission, just a fact finding about this attack. At the same time, one major difference, i think the most important difference between 9 11 obviously the scale of deaths and whatever, was a huge difference. But it was easy for both republicans and democrats to pin 9 11 on another country. Whereas, when were talking about the January 6th insurrection, pretty much straight up implicates the republican party. These were followers of trump. And there were republican senators and congressman, there still are, who support the insurrection and egged on the insurrectionists. So, as opposed to 9 11, if they were sir to support a Fact Finding Mission into this particular event, they would be implicating themselves. And i think that is why they are being cowards about it. I think you communal that. We have some evidence to that point. I did know youre gonna say, but we have evidence that. Point chai, whos been a student of political movements in this country and abroad, america is not immune to any of the problems in other countries were systems that are partly democratic give way to authoritarianism. Or give way to what is called political violence. This is serious stuff. Here is Matt Gates who has a host apartments. But is the republican Progress Man most closely tied to trump. And here is the kind of thing hes saying to people in broad daylight. And we need to see this so people understand what is coming at us. Take a look, chai. We have a Second Amendment in this country and i think we have an obligation to use it . [applause] the Second Amendment is not about hunting. It is not about recreation. It is not about sports. The Second Amendment is about maintaining within the citizenry the ability to maintain an armed rebellion against the government, if that becomes necessary. [applause] i hope it never does. Chai . Yeah, i mean thats actually a stunning piece of video there. Matt gaetz, who is basically looking at a terrible Criminal Probe in which he is very clearly culpable of things that are deeply, deeply unethical. Is now trying to stoke a second Amendment Gun rights fears in this country, to distract from his own problems. Which by the way, is a metaphor for the whole larger gop. Which is they are constantly trying to stoke these cultural fires, talking about cancel culture. Weve talked endlessly about how obsess they are with dr. Seuss and mr. Pate Potato Head and other sorts of things. To really just distract from their lack of policies. Their lack of solutions for the future of the country. And i think that that is really what a lot of this discussion is about. The gop has a political calculation, five how seats, by just getting up the maga base. But theyre also looking to move forward in a policy free direction, that for them is quite a lot of fun. And it is very enjoyable. Because it is a require them to do the hard work and the hard thinking that democrats Joe Biden, and even some republicans used to do. Looking at economics, history, things like that, in this country. Laura . I agree. I dont have much to add on that. I agree. You agree with that. You are almost miley like, yeah, this is ridiculous. I guess, laura, the question then is how much did this event i think today is a kind of an Inflection Point, even if we say that low. But this was a forced time for the republicans to go on record and say no, they dont want to find the facts. How much of that becomes an Inflection Point of showing that the six, which initially, some established republicans including mccarthy, just assumed it was so bad that it would not be palatable and acceptable. Even politically. And by that narrow standard. How much of this today becomes them saying im going to go more towards trump and gates. Which is openly fanning the flames of violence. Which is ultimately benefiting from it. Youre right, there is no point there is no showing fealty to trump. Its clearly moving in that direction. We saw that with a demotion of Liz Cheney and the promotion of elise stefanik. They are clearly picking a lane. Here i think what is really important about what happened today is that, we have a couple of democratic holdouts, Cinema And Mansion on ending the filibuster because they believe the filibuster was this tool for forcing compromise. Bipartisan compromise. And today was a perfect example of how were not talking a vote on the green new deal. This was in an abc policy they were voting on. This was a bipartisan, equal amount of republicans and democrats, to investigate the violence on the six. So if they Cant Compromise on that, theyre Gonna Compromise on nothing. So i hope, id like to see, that if this is Inflection Point, it is happening in the democratic party and they realize that in order for democracy to move forward. Eugene . Yeah, the democratic party now has to basically represent the entire Scene Spectrum of political fall in this country. Because republicans have decided to marginalize themselves and put themselves into some fantasy camp. So, youve got Bernie Sanders and aoc on the left. And youve Got Manchin and he sinema and a few others on the right. Thats the negotiation that is taking place in seen politics in this country right now. And republicans just dont want to participate. They simply dont want to participate. The outrageous thing to me is that, Mitch Mcconnell whipped this vote. He made this vote go down the way it did. He did not give republican senators the option of voting with their conscience. He essentially said, i am the leader and we are going for this. And we are not participating in normal democracy. We are not going to do that. Yeah. Were just going to say no. And we think that is our route to regaining power. I just want to add that were talking about a 19 Vote Margin. It was 54 democrats to 35 republicans. And in on the other democracy, any other reasonable country, a 19 Vote Margin for the majority means that there is a consensus and the thing passes. Theres something deeply wrong when you can say republicans won this vote with negative 19 votes. That is insane. Yeah. All very fair points. All i wanted to underscore is that i hope people are hearing what eugene said. There are times where we cant can debate will a politician takes, and it may be annoying because we do know Math Carnal thought this was an insurrection. We do know he thought it was a high crime. Because he made it clear in the New York times when he was whipping for anti trump sentiment in the senate. He thought it should be impeachable. He thought that and publicly said, which it makes it obvious all the more obviously hypocritical and despicable why he second. Up the final point i want to bring to chai. I dont know if youve ever heard when people say keep it 100 . Youve heard of . I have. Heard yes, im very familiar. That keep it 100 but. It could mean being 100 percent as something or keeping it real north authentic. Mitch mcconnell actually blew it and had to start backtracking when he said the thing that everyone knows. Which is when it comes to obstruction. Take solace take a listen, he keeps it one. Hundred 100 of my focus is on stopping this new administration. 100 of my focus is on standing up to this administration. Chai . Well, its not surprising that he was blocking the January 6th commission. I mean, criminals really want commissions investigating their own criminal enterprises. And if you want to look at the comparison of 9 11 and january six, there was no Gop Culpability on 9 11. There was quite a lot of Gop Culpability on gender six with the former gop president. There was no episode of sopranos for example, where Tony Soprano is asking for an investigation into Waste Management services in New York. That would be exactly what the republicans are doing. [laughs] do you have any wire references before we go . [laughs] i do not, actually. The wire a ends a badly for everyone. So, that would be perhaps be a cautionary tale for the gop. It doesnt end well for anyone. He had it in their. He just had to reach. I want to thank our excellent panel. We covered a lot of ground. Here eugene, Laura And Chai we. Have the shortest break right now. 30 seconds. Coming back. Trump insiders weighing in on why there is a Criminal Probe and who should be nervous. Also, were learning more about the theories of the origins of covid19. Why we need to keep an open mind and what it could mean for the world, for our safety. Even for biden foreign policy. Were back in 30 seconds. Ck in 30 seconds [sfx bikes passing] [sfx fire truck siren] onstar, we see them. Okay. Mother and child in vehicle. Mother is unable to exit the vehicle. Injuries are unknown. Thank you, onstar. My son, is he Okay . Your sons fine. Thank you. There was something in the road. Its Okay. Youre safe now. Turning to the ongoing Investigation And Intelligence regarding something that we still dont have a full picture of. Where exactly did covid19 come from . What are its origins . There is scrutiny about whether it possibly came from a Lab Leak in wuhan, china. The times reporting u. S. Officials are looking at previously an examine evidence that could help resolve this. President Biden Making Waves by giving some credibility to this possibility, and ordering a better, the poor Intelligence Report within 90 days. Top health experts, including doctor fauci, who had publicly downplayed the idea that it did come from potentially from this Lab Leak, this theory, now says everything, informational, has got to be on the table. We feel strongly, All Of Us, that we should continue with the investigation and go to the next phase of the investigation that the w. H. O. Has done. So, because we dont 100 know why the origin is, it is imperative that we look and do an investigation. And that is how we feel right now. This is about science. This is about intelligence. Its also about foreign policy, and the tories adversarial nation. Because biden officials say they are partly concerned the chinese government has been stonewalling investigations. Which raises questions about why. Theres also research that fit three will hand researchers went to hospital as far back as to november 2019. So lets get into the facts, this is a big one. Im joined by Washington Post reporter shane harris. Hes been covering the investigation into the origins of the pandemic. Thanks for being here. You bet, sorry. Good to be here, thanks. Lets fast forward to right now. Based on the available public evidence, will are the most likely theories about where covid came from . There are two. President biden said the Intelligence Community has coalesced around too. One, which i think is the safe to say most scientists would agree with, is that a pandemic develop naturally. When an infected animal carrying the Sarscov2 Virus infected a human, and that Human Affected other people. Weve seen Pandemic Spread like that before. Thats how the Sars Operation Outbreak in china began in 2002. The other possibility is that it came from this lab in the wuhan institute of virology. Its important to note here that the theory is not that the chinese deliberately engineered some kind of Bio Weapon and then purposely put it out to infect people. Rather that, the kinds of research that was going on in that lap for many years, principally on coronaviruses, with an aim towards trying to prevent future outbreaks, there may have been slippery or reckless research. That inadvertently developed the Sarscov2 Virus. Or perhaps the lab had even collected it in a sample from an animal, maybe didnt realize they had a. A Lap Worker get sick, he takes it home, he takes it a restaurant, and the Pandemic Spreads that we. That is the Lab Leak. And that is the new piece of this that the president now wants to go back and look at the intelligence and say, does it tell us anything about whether that scenario is more likely than the natural scenario. So dont Number One is bats. Door number two is a lab. And bats, as you say is president did, and everyone likes president in. Because they say well, its happened before. With regard to that Door Number one, bats, heres a headline that no one can find the animal. That gave people covid19. You mentioned sars. Their researchers tested Cage Market animals and found an identical virus. This time, mit note, no animal has been identified. Where does that fit into pulling on the threat for Door Number one . It doesnt necessarily tell us much of anything. Because these viruses can take years to trace back to a Host Animal or reservoir. I think it took upwards of 15 years for the Sars Outbreak to be traced back. We still dont know the original host of ebola. So you can take a long time before for this to happen. One thing though that the chinese Government Hasnt exactly been open and transparent in allowing an investigation into china that would actually help us to say where is the original bat . Or the animal that went from bat to human . And that kind of obfuscation am obstruction has led people to be suspicious. And youre just our reporter on this. Youre not gunning for one theory or the other, right . Thats correct. I keep an open mind. We dont have this one way or the other. And yet, you know youre reporting in this area where there has been a ton of political heat. People have various outcomes they want. Theres been international intrigue. As an observer of this, do you think that the political conversation, or the quieter dynamics contributed to underplaying, or not taking as seriously, Door Number two, lab . For various reasons. Or do you just think the evidence has moved along quickly . I do think that the political environment had a lot to do with this in the early stages. Talking to former officials who are working on this issue, who are also keeping an open mine. Lets be clear, were suspicious of the lab. So they were maybe a little bit predisposed thinking it could be the source. What they said is that in april of 2020, when President Trump first started talking about the possibility of a Lab Leak, and talking about things like the china virus, or when Trade Advisor Peter navarro suggested china may have deliberately engineer this virus, thats when it became a political weapon. And i think is safe to say that many in the scientific community, it was almost a kind of allergic reaction to the suggestion of a Lab Leak. Because it sounded more like something that Donald Trump was trying to deploy as a political deflection, to take attention off his own administrations faulty responses to the pandemic. So, Lab Leak, really the biggest proponent of it became Donald Trump. And this is somebody with a history of lying on certain things. Racist language, certainly it was supercharged when it came to the covid pandemic. Which was sometimes called the kung flu. So that colored everything. And i think it has taken time for a scientist perhaps, to come around to this idea that says wait, there have been Lab Accidents before. Not that it caused a pandemic. But there have been viruses that have escape from labs. That does happened. Even in very safe labs. Even in the united states. I think clearly, President Biden has been persuaded, i dont think that one theory is true versus the other, but that there is enough information that bears going back over it with fresh ice and saying, take the politics out of it. Take what Donald Trump said out of it. What does the information tell us . And what can we conclude from . And we may never get to an answer. But there should be a credible investigation. He is saying. I think you broke that down so well. And its really important. Because on the one hand, if the Chief And Lotus advocate for something is a race baiting liar, who lies all the time and has done things to contribute to for example, the rise of hate crimes, you can understand why people dont want to get near that. A yet, we all, the whole world has invested interest and getting all of the possible facts about where this came from. Which informs what happened and what may be, if anything to do about it. So it is really important stuff. Shane harris, Thank You for your objective reporting, sir. Thanks for having me on, ari. Appreciate it. Absolutely. Coming up, there is data evidence, facts, that the Surgeon Blogger in florida is not finding anyone who wants to read his blog. Who am i talking about . Well, well get to that later. The Washington Post reports that Donald Trumps blog is a matter of metrics, audience, readers everywhere the managed a has lower traffic right now than sites like delicious, pet finder, square space and your favorite, eat this, not that. Trump writing that this is a temporary way of getting my thoughts and ideas out to the public. Kind of a backtracking. Republican leaders are openly terrified of the blogger. But do they know whether he still has the same perceived influence . Is it real . Meanwhile, Donald Trump is claiming that, in some acknowledgment of this reality, there will be a bigger, different online platform at some point in the future. Were joined now by someone who knows a lot about politics and the internet. Erin ryan, who is the host of the podcast to syria. Thanks for coming on. Thanks for having me, sorry. We mentioned this story at The End of the week, not just to know that they blew it. That the blog is unpopular. That it is not a hot ticket. That trails many other sites. That complaining about the treatment of your blog on a blog that no one reads is not a very effective communication strategy. Thats not our only point. Im curious what you think about the wider point that matters when we look at issues like voting rights, walking to work with biden on jobs, does this actually suggest that even among trumps fans, his current influence may be overstated in the minds of republican politicians . I would love that if that were the case. By thing right now we are simply talking about just trumps blog and. I think a blog is not really a way for him to reach his fans. If you took a look at the blogs there are some that are just 900 blocks of tax. With absolutely no paragraph interruptions. Youre trying to get people to read long blocks of tax on websites that dont have pictures of the grandchildren loaded on them . Feel like part of what trump loves is having a approving comments. As somebody who started their career as a blogger and who worked as a comment moderator, i have to say there are ways to make sure that the Comments Section just feeds you want you want to hear. He can filter out troubling words like President Biden or Grand Jury, if he wanted to. And just have all of the comments at the top be something that is going to make him feel good. I feel like his followers also appreciate feeling like they have a personal connection to President Trump. And jim just blocks of text on the page dont give them that. Im not this sure if they decided they dont need that anymore. Im not sure that they have coalesced around somebody else. But for now, i think just a blog is what the Tiktok Generation would call for, we will you to find that for us . It is a word if you are New York times subscriber, you might have read Taylor Lawrence is story on it, it means oft trend. Following a trend that no longer exist. And belonging i think reached its heyday around 2006 to 2011. So hes about ten years lee on that. Youre saying the medium is out of style. The politician is out of style, recently rebuffed. Why do you think they blew this this badly, when the one thing hes allegedly spoke to be good at his pr . Yeah, this kind of pr is a little bit more complicated than the pr he was gonna. Which is getting on a Phone At and yelling things at journalist, typing a few sentences down, and have mainstream Journalist Report about it. A lot of things he would do is call out individual Media Outlets and then all of the Media Outlets circled the wagons and try and thats been a reliable way for him to get headlines. So i feel like another thing is, this kind of demonstrates building a Blogging Following takes a lot of work. It is hard. Donald trump is not a very hard worker. When he was president , he spent a lot of time golfing. Most of the buildings that say trump on them were not built by him. Hes better at branding things and actually doing the work. And i think this is a reflection of the fact that Anytime Trump is actually trying to do the work himself, he is going to cut corners. And this is a really agree demonstration of that. Agree all Fear Points about something that is one of his only current ways that he is trying to reach people. Erin ryan, Thank You. Have a good holiday weekend. We have a break. But up ahead, the Trump Org the Criminal Probe is in full swing. While key witnesses are saying. Later, is biden in some ways the new bernie . The Big Question as biden unveils new spending today. All of this started when we discovered the benefits of local, raw honey for our family. And then we said hey, you know what . This is a business right here. We went out and started to sell it. To help us get going, we got the Chase Business complete banking ℠ account. Its more than a bank account. It comes with quickaccept, which lets us take card payments anytime, anywhere, and get sameday deposits at no extra cost. Its more than honey. Its about building something for our family that will endure. Hi, im lori melbourne, in for joy reid. One of the biggest developments this week is the Manhattan Da convening a Grand Jury in the Criminal Probe of Donald Trump. That is expected to decide whether to indict people in Donald Trumps organization. Which could include Donald Trump. And we have the speaking with a number of the witnesses and insiders were basically the Building Block of the things. People like Trump Cfo Allen weisselberg, jennifer was still bergh. She spoken to the investigators here. She says she thinks will eventually flip. And Donald Trumps famous former lawyer Michael Cohen agrees. Allen himself admitted to me that he will never show those. Oh no, hes just been the character on the apartment, my lease. When i was getting divorce, i cant show my Tax Flip semi piece. Lots and i thought why not . Basically he was saying that they are legal. And im not releasing. Them it was during the cohen investigation. Pretty telling. This family is going to pretend that it all had to do with allen. And that was allen in charge of everything. And they are all going to flip against allen. I think if you Take A Look at the panel that is here in front of you, ari, you have what i would term to be the trifecta of trouble for trump. If you Take A Look, you have of course stephanie, who has the millennia and the president ial inaugural committee. You have jennifer who deals directly with the cfo. And myself who sort of encompasses trump and family. As well as the organization. But allen is a very interesting guy, because allen was the gatekeeper for every and any thing that came in and went out of the Trump Organization. But it wasnt just the Trump Organization. It was also donalds personal accounts. It was the Kids Business accounts. It was the president ial inaugural committee. It was the campaign. Any penny that had anything to do with Donald Trump, went through Allen Weisselberg thems desk. Now that they have allen under investigation, i remember once i bumped into him and the family at a restaurant here in the city, and when i went over to say hello them, he said oh you can talk to me. You can talk to me. Youre under investigation. I really do hope that as soon as i get off from confinement and i hopefully bump into him again, i can turn around and say to him, the exact thing thing. But i do believe that he has significant exposure. And i think his exposure is not one that you can just hide. Because the beautiful thing about numbers is numbers dont lie. People do. And as we know, donald lies about anything everything. Donald lies and allen swears for. So its a question of whether or not allen once to now serve time in his golden years. Or he wants to provide the information to the multitude of different organizations. Law enforcement organizations that are currently investigating him. My suspicion is that he is going to provide the information they want. T. A lot of people may talk about Donald Trump or any other politician. These are people talking to investigators about Donald Trump. Thank louisa former executives there. She worked for him for over a decade. She says weisselberg is scared. Trump has always been sort of teflon. So them closing in on him is wonderful. Answer. Price weisselberg i think he must be shaking in his boots. He has to thanks to think of, his kids. Its a big deal for weisselberg. Hes an ordinary guy. Hes not like a cohen, or any of them that do things. Hes just an ordinary guy. The he rose up and changed his standing and everything. But i can imagine that hes just besides himself. Weisselberg it is one of those that doesnt breathe or do anything without Trumps Permission or knowledge. So, i think that appears to me trying to lay it on weisselberg and how he responds. And i think it will be effective. And then there is the casinos. Jack odonnell was the president of the Plaza Hotel Casino in atlantic city, for trump. And we went through what he knows about weisselberg and the money. And he said something quite newsworthy, and i want to make sure you see it. Because investigators might want to say. He alleges he was axed by Donald Trump himself to falsify financial records. The very issue at the current probe is looking at. Take a listen. Its all about money with don. Everything centers around money with donald. And the organization. And there are two forms of money. Theres cash, and then theres whats on the piece of paper. Okay . And they dont necessarily have to look the same. Or they dont have to total up the same. The numbers can mean something different. That was very clear. And i actually went through a situation where i was asked to literally build, falls financials for my business. So, i know the numbers dont have to equal each other. Who requested that . Very specifically, three people were involved in asking me to redo the numbers. Robert trump, his brother. Harvey freeman, who is his attorney at the time. And Donald Trump also. So he was end on that kind of direct requests . Well, the direct requests came, i submit that the process then was that every entity in the organization submitted their budgets to New York. And in this case, this was the year that the Taj Mahal was going to open. So there was really a lot of scrutiny and we all knew the numbers were going to decrease. When i submitted my numbers, i was summoned to New York. And i was first put any room with Robert And Harvey, and they said these numbers wont work. We cant go backwards, the numbers have to go up. I said, well were opening at 20 increase in capacity. Everybodys numbers are going to go down. They said, cant have it. Allen will accept it, donald will accept. They have to redo the numbers. After that meeting i then went into Donalds Office and donald said, did Robert And Harvey talked to him about the numbers . And i said, yes they did. But let me explain why i cant redo the numbers because they wont be true. And he just said, we need new numbers. We need new numbers. Perhaps coming to a grand Jury Room there you. Now we have a lot more in our hour here. Up next, how does President Biden consolidate all of the democratic party to put Mitch Mcconnell in a bind. When we come back. Did you know that every single flush flings odors onto your soft surfaces . Then they get release back into the air, so you smell them later. Ew right . Thats why febreze created small spaces. Press firmly and watch it get to work. Unlike the leading cone, small spaces continuously eliminates odors in the air and on surfaces. So they dont come back for 45 days. Just imagine what it can do with other odors. [ ] looking to repair dry, damaged hair without weighing it down . Try pantene daily moisture renewal conditioner. Gotcha and for our floors, sweepers textured cloths lock all kinds of dirt, Dust And Pet hair. Unlike my vacuum, it sneaks under and around places. Look at that dust free and hassle free. Stop cleaning and start swiffering. Is President Biden the new bernie . Hes unveiled a six trillion dollar set a Budget Proposal lifting the middle class, expanding social safety next. We also dont want to raise funds by hitting corporations it and the super wealthy. They sweeping plans would bring spending to basically the highest levels in over the past 50 years. This shows Bidens Transformation and how he is governing. Many see here progress in an attempt to consolidate the democratic party, while on domestically going full bernie. After coming into office with a reputation as a moderate. More cops, more prisons, more physical protection for the people. We have predators on our streets. You must take back the streets. Congress gives President Bush in what he wants in this showdown with sudan posing. Bible of 77 to 23. We see when i argued if we should freeze federal spending, i spent so i meant social security as well. I met medicare and medicaid. He met medicare and medicaid. He met iraq. He met clean up the streets with that tough controversial crime bill. And that was. It in Joe Bidens longstanding career. And then we know recently that the party that he is in seems to sort of split. Two president ial cycles in a row. Between the more establishment, centrist rice. And a progressive one. First it was clinton versus sanders, and then it is biden versus sanders. At this time, a year ago, sanders had not yet endorsed biden. And they have been engaging in months of respectful but vigorous policy debate. Joe has voted for terrible Trade Agreements. I dont know that there is any Trade Agreement that the senator would think made any sense. So you and i have a fundamental disagreement. In case you havent noticed. [laughs] obviously the Paris Accord is useful, but it doesnt go anywhere, then joe youre missing the point. This is an existential crisis. About a year later, biden is governing from the Core And Base of the democratic party. A crazy aggressive base. Pushing the liberal plans i just mentioned. Spending that outstrips anything from the early days of the obama biden administration. Pushing higher taxes on wealthy and corporations. And Joe Biden taken sides with labor more than he did in past decades, more than past him a Credit President S. Hes pushing a new multi trillion Dollar Plan with major plans for jobs, racial justice and addressing climate change. Now whether its correlation or causation, biden at times can sound a bit like the new bernie. We need a lot more in the 49 states. Trying to is building high Speed Rail all over the place. We are. Not we have to build infrastructure. China has eaten our lunch. Is biden simply revealing his own values now that he has this power . Or is he channeling sanders . The Obama Campaign Veteran jake shows the new era of progressive politics is much closer to Bernie Sanders Vision of radically distributing Americas Wealth downwards. And that is a mean biden has gone full democratic socialist. Sanders himself once more direct climate action in that new biden bill. And biden has not been with liberals on a larger plan to wipe a Student Debt up to 50 grand. Or go to the mat fully for a minimum wage in the senate. But as jake argues, as a and as some have been arguing for years, the democratic Partys Base is fundamentally progressive on economic justice. And that base, with his coalition, is larger than the maga movement. And the mood new movement and the new President Biden increasingly sounds like he gets. That which means he sounds more like the parties progressive then say, Joe Biden from the nineties. Ceos make millions and millions of dollars but dont ask us to pay more in taxes. Multinational corporations that builds a factory abroad brings it home and pays nothing at all. If elected president of the united states, we are going to do everything that we can to rebuild the infrastructure. I support unions, the middle class, its about time they started to get piece of the action. And that is some food for thought as we see it all coming together. I also want to share programming note.
