Republicans are trying to spend more money by paying for it with money that democrats have already voted to appropriate. This offer raises the Spending Level to 928 billion. It is close to the 1 Trillion we thought it would be. The way the republicans have decided to fund this is by going back through bills, mainly the american Rescue Plan passed earlier on only democratic votes and take money appropriated, but not spent and redirect it towards infrastructure project. It is the equivalent of Looking for money in couch cushions. I dont know how it will go over. It will be interesting how the president views this. I dont know what its going to show. Thats okay. Thats why we want the commission. We want to understand what happened and why did this happen in this country. People Look to the world Look to the united states and we are imperfect but they Look to us as one true democracy. We can self correct. We have 27 amendments to the constitution because we didnt do it all right the first time. I am sure they are politically concerned, but their obligation is not to a Party Or President but to the country and the people they represent. January 6, if thats not important to form an independent commission comprised of republicans and democrats, then i dont know what is. One thing unfolding. She repeated the question. He said we havent explored. And pointed to arizona. How can we get to what you are talking about if we have senators who are meeting with grieving mothers who come out and say that they are not willing to say that President Biden is actually the president. Unfortunately, thats an ignorant statement not backed up by any fact. President trumps own Justice Department said it was a fair, free, clean election. Republican secretaries of state, republican governors in states like georgia, arizona, other states have said it was a fair, free, nonfraudulent election. Why some of these guys hang on to this myth, fabrication continues to rip apart our country with no facts. Just the opposite. I think it is about as irresponsible a Thing A Public Servant can do. I am sorry people are saying these things and still under the spell of our former president. It is wrong. They have to put the interest of our country first. It was included when he won in 2016. He didnt win the popular vote so he claimed the popular Vote Wasnt Right and wanted a commission to investigate that. As far at other things he said they were witchhunts, fraudulent, baseless. So it started well before January 6 and has continued after. As the party continues to grapple with Everything Ashley laid out. Former Speaker Ryan will be giving a Speech And Nbc obtained that speech. Here is part of what it says first of all it was a big struggle to get Paul Ryan to say that kind of thing when he was speaker of the house. But it is something that people will acknowledge in private, but in public they refuse to do it. Paul ryan takes a step in that direction. Does it get him or your party anywhere . It is a tiny step. He sounds like he is leaning towards taking a definitive stand but is not willing to do it. Its disappointing. I am tired of being disappointed by Paul Ryan. He is talking about the future of the Conservative Movement but he is not addressing the cancer of the Big Lie or the January 6 commission, not talking about the purges in the house of representatives, not talking about the crazy theories. The old Paul Ryan talked about poverty and race. Doesnt seem to be talking about that at all. I dont know if he will address that or not. But he gives Trump Credit for much of the economic growth. I am not sure what difference its going to make. I can assure you this is going to be a speech that will satisfy No One and will disappoint pretty much everyone. As one last point, i dont think he is likely to address the role of fox news, which is interesting because Paul Ryan sits on the Board Of Directors of the fox corporation. One thing for ryan and others who talk about conservative Movement And Policy ideas, most of those came from The Hill and they were happy to have President Trump sign them when he was in office. But the reality is that a lot of the Things Trump was in favor of arent in those conservative lines you layout. When you put it altogether, gop, that there is so much unhappiness, Majorie Taylor Greene is making comments about the holocaust. Its so toxic, how do they continue to govern any any positive way. It is toxic. We will see if the infrastructure becomes a bridge to that. But given the absolute reluctance of senate republicans to even pass the January 6 Commission Bill and we will see that tonight it says to me that not only are republicans unwilling to Look at January 6 and the underpinnings of it, but part of it is because it exposes a part of them they dont want the public to see.
