You know, thats really the truth of whats happening here. On wednesday the fbi released new footage from the insurrection. Now stick around and take a look at this video because when they call this a peaceful protest its tantamount to spitting in the face of The American people and trying to convince us its rain. Just stop it. [ bleep ]. Now next week the Commission Bill heads to the senate where it will join other house approved bills like the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and the for the people act, the bill to protect Voting Rights, but because Mitch Mcconnell is opposed to the commission it will likely just be the latest in a long list of nonstarters in the legislative graveyard known as the u. S. Senate. Joining me now is Joe Negose. Very happy to have you with me this morning to break down all the things that are happening on the capitol. I want you first to take a listen to this Sound Bite from Senate Minority leader Mitch Mcconnell and the reverse he does when talking about what happened on January 6th. Take a listen. Theres no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. No question about it. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president. After careful consideration, ive made the decision to oppose the house democrats slanted and unbalanced proposal for another commission to study the events of january the 6th. Its not at all clear what new facts or additional investigation yet another commission could actually lay on top of existing efforts by Law Enforcement and congress. The facts have come out and theyll continue to come out. I mean, congressman, these folks have more flipflops than the cast of bay watch. Im baffled how he could look The American people in the face just months after five people died. What is the purpose of this commission . Well, first, let me say, tiffany, i think what you just saw is really a party thats been subsumed by fielty to one man. There are many of us who have long believed that the cultive personality for President Trump was dangerous for our country. Certainly youre seeing that on full display. The commission is a bipartisan effort to try to get to the truth as to what happened on January 6th and to make sure that it never happens again, which means making recommendations to the full congress on steps that we can take from a Security Perspective to ensure that we have appropriate guardrails and safeguards to guard our constitutional republic. That is what the commission is about. It is modeled after the 9 11 commission which was a bipartisan commission that did tremendous work after the 9 11 attack. As you know, as you just played it, ultimately attracted 35 House Republicans in support of the legislation last week. I think americans should be deeply concerned by the actions of House Republicans in particular this past week because they really had a clear Binary Choice between them as to whether or not they chose truth and ultimately creating this bipartisan commission to investigate the events of January 6th or choosing President Trump and they clearly chose the latter and i think its going to have disastrous consequences for us as a country. Its going to be important for every american of good faith to Stand Up and Push Back against the whitewashing of the events of January 6th that so many in the Republican Party have been engaged in over the course of the last few months. Yeah. Thats really what it is, right . This is whitewashing of recent american history. I have to say that i dont know the fielty is to Donald Trump because this was a problematic problem for the Republican Party long before trump got here. Listen to congressman mccarthy. He is claiming the commission is not necessary but its so obvious its bs in politics. Take a listen to the bs and about face he makes. I dont think so. Any communication with any of the people who stormed Capitol Hill. Thank you for the question. Everybody have a nice day. Can i ask you in the senate you dont wear a mask. In the house you have to wear a mask. The only difference is the speaker. She doesnt want to abide by the cdc rules. Let me just explain what happened there. He was taking questions. He did not like the questions. He walked away. When someone asked about masks, then he turns back and all of a sudden he found extra time. Its ridiculous. Hes claiming that the commission is not necessary because there are already other investigations happening. Could his opposition be because he might be subpoenaed given that he was in conversation with Donald Trump while all of this was happening . Thats certainly a possibility. Obviously the Commissions Investigation is will be complimentary to all of the other investigations that are currently being performed but i would just say, look, Kevin Mccarthy knows that the reasons he is offering in regards to his opposition to the commission are nonsensical. There are no cogent reasons for not supporting the commission. He knows it and whats most surprising is that he and others are not even trying to kind of present a veneer of responsibility and i think its symptomatic of the real challenges that exist within the house Republican Caucus and Republican Party more broadly. I also would just say, look, if the senate republicans intend to filibuster this bill as seems to be the case, i can think of no better signal that the united States Senate is fundamentally broken as an institution if the first filibuster is into investigating the events of January 6th. If that is the case, i think ultimately the Senate Democratic Caucus is going to have to step forward and eliminate the filibuster once and for all so we can finally deliver for The American people and do the important work that The American people expect us to do, including investigating literally an attack on our republic. The first breach of the Capitol Wall since the war of 1812. I echo those sentiments. Thats holding up a lot including the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and Hr 1 which would protect Voting Rights as they are under attack all across the country. Im curious about something, congressman. Weve seen Congresswoman Qanon Marjorie Taylor Greene going up against people. Working on the Capitol Hill every day, do you feel safe . And as a former impeachment manager, do you suspect that maybe some of your colleagues maybe did help some of these insurrectionists . With respect to the latter question, tiffany, look, im not going to speculate. I think thats precisely why we hope to have a bipartisan commission that can seek the truth on an impartial and objective basis and will certainly determine the complicity of any individuals regarding the events of January 6th. In terms of a Security Posture of the capitol, we took a big step this week in ensuring that our capitol remains secure bypassing an Emergency Security supplemental, roughly 1. 9 billion in funding to respond to the January 6th attack to protect the u. S. Capitol complex and all who work and serve within it including the allegiance of staff and employees who work in our capitol each and every day, public servants serving the country. That supplemental responds to the recommendations that were made by general honore, which youll recall he was commissioned by Speaker Pelosi to study some of the security issues within the united states capital complex. I think we made a big step forward. That bill still has to get through the senate and ultimately the president s desk. We have a lot more work to do. I want to hone in on this. Do you feel safe working on Capitol Hill given that some of the members you serve alongside Support And Share some of the believes of the insurrectionists from January 6th . I do feel safe. Im grateful to the Capitol Police who take incredible steps each and every day to protect members of congress, to protect our staff, to protect all of those who work in the capitol complex. Again, i think we need to do more and its clear given the supplemental that we just passed on thursday that theres a lot more to be done to ensure that the safety of everyone who works in the capitol complex, including by The Way citizens as they come into the capitol complex, is secure for years to come. Yeah. I want to point out to viewers the 1. 9 billion spending bill, the largest portion was almost 700 Million which paid for costs from security and damages that were already done. Thank you so much, congressman Joe Negose for coming on. Well talk about infrastructure next time. Thanks for making time this morning. Dont go anywhere at home, up next, your right to an abortion is now in the hands of Brett Kavanaugh and amy coney barrett. Well discuss that after the break. Recognizing that the impact you make comes from the energy you create. Introducing the allelectric lyriq. Lighting The Way. We learned late in my second trimester that my child had a terrible sickness. Ultimately i made the decision and i made the choice not to terminate the pregnancy. She didnt make it. I had all the resources, health insurance, supportive husband, supportive family and still who knows five years later if i would have made a different choice. I could have easily made a different choice. Before we judge, walk a mile in her shoes. And the jurisdiction of the laws of texas should not enter my body, should not enter any womans body, should not enter any persons body. The laws of texas or anywhere one would argue. Gina inahosa offered that against a bill that bans abortion as early as six weeks. It was just signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in a room filled mostly with men. Since january nearly 550 abortion restrictions have been introduced across 47 states. Ironically while many conservatives have declared agency over their own bodies when it comes to masks and vaccines. With the Supreme Court announcing it will hear a challenge to mississippis Abortion Law which would impact the states only Abortion Clinic Roe v. Wade could be on the line. Joining me, alexis mcgill johnson. And fatima goss graves. President and ceo of the national womens law center. Thank you, ladies, for being here. Fatima, i have to start with you here. I think some people protect particularly in the younger generation think, you know, this is a right that we have. I fear that roe could be overturned. We could be looking at our choice being taken away. Am i overreacting or is this a legitimate fear . Your fear is totally rational. The case that is going to the Supreme Court goes directly at roe, goes directly at the legal right to abortion in this country. It is a direct challenge and, frankly, there really isnt a real path for the Supreme Court to uphold the Mississippi Law without overturning the Core Holding in roe, which was essentially that you cannot ban abortion before viability. It would either have to overturn it entirely or weaken it so thoroughly that it might be entirely meaningless. I dont mean to, you know, sound an alarm, but we have to sound an alarm. No, i think we should be sounding the alarm. We should be screaming it from the mountain tops because this really isnt just about taking away a womans choice. There are Health Disparities here. Ill come to you on this, alexis. Youre not going to force a woman to carry a pregnancy to term. If abortion safe abortion clinics are taken away, well go back to awful, you know, back seedy abortion places in tawdry hotels. I understand Planned Parenthood is suing the city of lubbock, texas over this law. Its just ironic that were here fighting some of the same battles from 20 years ago. Wheres Planned Parenthood on these egregious laws across the country . Oh, look, were here. Were outraged like everyone else. We talked to one of our providers in texas at one of the Health Centers where 85 of patients who come in for abortion come in after 6 weeks. If you are trying at best if you are trying to get pregnant you might know at 4 weeks because you are waiting and you are thinking about it. If this is unintended and you arent, that obviously youre not going to find out at best until five or six weeks. So it is incredibly egregious. We are not going to let this go unchallenged. We understand that this is this becomes a national fight because there are 536 restrictions to abortion that weve seen just in the last four months and its critical that we really awaken what is happening in State Legislatures across the country all The Way up to the Supreme Court. Its interesting because Theres Polling out that a majority of u. S. Adults say abortion should be legal. 59 say it should be legal in all or most cases while 39 think it should be illegal in all or more cases. Fatima, aisle ask you. The real question is, who cares what any of these people think if they are not the woman carrying the child. I wonder if some of this is about language. If this is a campaign that we need to sell in this society thats still predominantly run by men, should we not adopt their language . People are called Pro Choice or pro life when pro life we know is a misnomer. Its an antichoice position. What is the Messaging Campaign around protecting a womans right to choose. The first thing i have to say is your ability to determine whether you parent and when, whether you grow your family or not, and even how you parent, that should not be up for debate by radical politicians. The fact that it is and the fact that we have to keep convincing people of our Humanity And Dignity goes at the core of what we are talking about here. We are at the point that an almost 50year attempt to control our lives, our bodies, our futures has come to fruition. So we have to sort of do the work to explain to people what is at stake. To actually explain to people that its a problem that the same states that are trying to ban abortion are also the same states that have high maternal mortality rate, that do nothing or very little for the lowest income people in this country. It is all a part of a single story. We cant separate it out. I think thats such a great point. I think mississippi ranks 50th in education so dont Tell Me you care so much about children. Focus on those issues. Alexis ill kick it back to you. This debate has come up in the black Lives Matter protests, right . You have extremely conservative people oh, black Lives Matter but black women get abortions which is such a warped, ridiculous, uninformed argument. There is some disparity here. Black women account for more abortions than other race or ethnicities. Perhaps that could be because the disparities black people face. Is there a possibility to say, hey, address these other disparities and perhaps we would see people make different choices . Or am i misreading the situation . I think youre absolutely reading the situation well and what i would add to that is i trust black women to make decisions about their own bodies. To your point about lalanguage, yes, they can spin an argument that this isnt about control, but ultimately it is, as fatima said, about controlling our bodies and believing with the hubris that they actually have the ability to make better decisions about our lives and our futures than we do. So i fundamentally trust black women to understand what we need to do in terms of taking care of our bodies and making decisions and i also recognize that these laws are completely designed to impact people of color largely, low income folks, trans, nonbinary folks. What i would add to fatimas point, these states are the same states trying to ban our access to the polls, right . Thats right. The same states that have the voting restrictions. You can definitely see a pattern here. Once again, asking black women to make sure that they understand whats at stake right now. Yeah. Absolutely. For people who are more concerned about a fetus than they are about black people getting shot in the street or about kids being in cages at the u. S. Boarder, they can kind of miss me with their opinion on anything but you ladies are fabulous. Thank you so much. Youll both have to come back because unfortunately im sure there will be more reason to have this conversation again. Up next ill talk to two progressive prosecutors about how they plan to fight Mass Incarceration even as Crime Rates rise. Thank you. Feeling stressed in your skin . But if youre experiencing irregular heartbeat, heart racing, chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue or lightheadedness, dont wait to contact your doctor. Because these symptoms could be signs of a serious condition like atrial fibrillation. Which could make you about five times more likely to have a stroke. Com promo for over a year we came out and said were not going to prosecute low level offenses. Violent crime went down 20 and Property Crime went down 39 . What that data suggests to me was that these lowlevel offenses, crime didnt go up. Low level offenses never had anything to do with Public Safety and so we made those policies permanent going forward. The District Attorney is one of the most important people in the criminal Justice System and one we pay way too little attention. It is the District Attorney also called the prosecutor who decides which charges to bring against alleged criminals including Police Officers who brutalize The Public. A wave of prosecutors have taken office vowing to fight over criminal lieization and to hold police accountable but as Crime Rates rise, can they hold true to those values. The two may not have anything to do with each other. Joining me to discuss this are two such prosecutors. Larry krazner and marilyn mosby, states attorney for baltimore. Larry, im going to come to you first because you just won your reelection and i know that one of the things your opponent tried to do to unseat you was say because you supported these Progressive Approaches as we rethink criminal safety that that was the reason why crime went up. Im curious how you counter that argument. Well, i think the real first of all, Thank You for letting me be here with my good buddy marilyn mosby. I think the lesson coming out of the election is simple. We know Progressive Prosecution is going to survive. Im not sure about traditional prosecution. This is typical Fear Mongering from another era. We have two votes for every one of my opponents and, you know, perhaps even more importantly in two consecutive election cycles we have seen this outpouring of results by people who are enthusiastic about Progressive Prosecution. I think the answer was given to my opponent by the voters. I think youre right given that you won reelection. Marilyn, i talked about your approach on this show before and, look, according to the washington post, 80 of all prosecutions are misdemeanors so you think about how that clogs the courts and what that does to people, particularly when folks who look like us feel like theres two Justice Systems. How has not prosecuting these lowlevel offenses impacted your office in baltimore . So the one thing i can say, Thank You, tiffany, for having me on, is its impacted it a lot. We looked at the data as youve already indicated. Violent crime. Property crime went down significantly. There was an 80 decrease in drug arrests. We partnered with Community Behavioral Health Experts that can respond to the behavioral health needs of these individuals. Why this is so important is because were coming out of a global pandemic where we have a backlog of cases, we have to prioritize our resources. Homicides and nonfatal shootings are slightly up. We need to put our time, attention on these violent offenses. As youve already indicated so eloquently, these low level offenses that have nothing to do with Public Safety for black people can lead to a death sentence. Freddie gray made Eye Contact with police and he ended up dead. George floyd is alleged to have passed a 20 bill during a global pandemic. Duante wright, we dont know if it was the Air Fresheners or expired tags but these low level offenses, we have to rethink and reimagine Public Safety and policing. I completely agree. I think theres this campaign on the right, larry, when people say, oh, well look the left wants to defund the police and people who get so caught up in a hashtag instead of being bold enough to rethink how we look at Public Safety impacts that. Criminologists say there is no evidence to support that not prosecuting these crimes lead to a higher crime so how do you navigate that terrain . You just won reelection but theres still a national narrative that suggests this is going to be a problem in the future. So that national narrative will not go away. It is The Way weve thought about Criminal Justice for at least 40 years. The truth is its a fearbased politics and the media in many cases has been complicit. They have supported candidates who were able to carry on and rant about terrible people who need to be locked up forever as opposed to being scientific about it. Its a major failing in our system. Medicine actually moved towards Science And Prevention a long time ago. They had some very good results. Criminal justice, no. We have just pretty much been subject to a complete lack of science, lack of data and people who are willing to repeat the same phrases over and over. You know, in many ways what marilyn is talking about and Rachel Rollins as well in boston with these policies of not going after lowlevel offenses, policies we have copied in some instances and pursued as well, were talking about Rudy Giuliani. Were talking about the idiocy of broken windows. The idiocy of lets stop every black Man And Search him for no reason and no constitutional justification. Something Rudy Giuliani and his crew trumpeted into the Bill Barr era. This is a complete repudiation of that and we need to go another direction. Im so happy you brought that up. Rudy giuliani was never americas mayor for a large sect. They gave Larrys Opponent 25,000. We spent time together in baltimore. I certainly recall some of the attitude they had towards you and your husband nick, my friend. So what do we do about that . Why are Police Unions so eager to arrest and jail at this time where were rethinking Public Safety . So i think as my friend larry, so proud of you, congratulations, as hes already indicated, we are pushing against a narrative for decades of these failed policies and the Police Unions are giving Labor Unions a bad name. They dont come out when the officers have committed some sort of misconduct but they push Tooth And Nail against any sort of reform when it comes to policing and that is unacceptable. The personal attacks against us as prosecutors, i can tell you just being the biggest sort of Push Back that ive received as a woman, particularly as a woman of color in implementing these policies, is that im personally attacked, right . Mocked, ridiculed. My competency is the first. Competency and credibility is the first that is always called into question by the Police Unions, by my governor, by Fox News affiliates who have gone and done 248 stories on me. Its like this personal sort of attack. Larry has experienced it too. Its not even based off of evidence, but its based off of this political sort of ideology where they want to continue the Status Quo that has not worked. Yeah. Anyone whos questioning your competency has clearly not spent a lot of time with you. Id advise against that. Thank you, larry krazner, marilyn mosby, Youll Boldt have to come back. Were celebrating the Aapi Community this year. Ill talk to Richard Lui right after this break. G . For sure. Seriously . One up the power of liquid, one up the toughest stains. Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum Yum Yuuum yum yum yum yum yum Yum Yuuum yum yum yum clap, clap yum yum clap yum yum asianamericans have the right to be recognized as american, not as the other, no, sir as them but as us. This Week President biden signed the Covid19 Hate crimes Act Legislation that seeks to address a surge in violence against asianamericans since the start of the pandemic, but the lived experience of the Aapi Community in this country is so much more than victims of hate and violence. Joining me now is my Friend And Colleague fellow msnbc anchor Richard Lui. Hes the author of enough about me. Richard, its never enough about you. Im so happy youre joining me this morning to talk about Aapi Heritage Month. I didnt want to focus just on the recent acts of violence because like i said, theres so much more to the Aapi Communitys lived experience in this country yet theres so little representation to help share these stories. Im curious your thoughts on the lived experience here and what needs to change to make sure we have more representation across the landscape. Intellectual curiosity about our fellow country men. Tiffany, first of all, good morning. Thank you for having me. You understand better than All Of Us in the room right now, the two of us, what this is all about. You have reported on the Aapi Community over the years youve been in the business. The idea that we dont have representation. We dont have representation in media, in culture. We need more people that look like this. We also need more people leading in organizations and Corner Offices that are in board rooms, in politics and we just dont have good representation. Representation is super, super important. When you look at those people who dont know necessarily what aapi means, that certainly is, its not an easy asianamerican pacific islander. Thats more than 50 countries, and dialects. 2 3 of this particular community speaks english as a second language yet they have been here for 200 years. Theres all of these layers to this community that arent easy to know necessarily, even for me being aapi. As we celebrate the heritage month, its an important time. And different than any other heritage month, as you know, tiffany, that weve ever seen. The Hate Crimes. The Hate Crimes act, antiasian Hate Crimes act. All of this in just one month. Yeah. Look. I think we are the rising majority of america. You know, this will be a country that has more people of color and our collective strength works in our favor. I have to tell you, i do hear from some people, you know, why did the Aapi Hate crimes Act Pass . You know, theres still antilynching law that hasnt passed. That kind of horizontal competition doesnt serve us well, particularly as the fight for voting right impact these communities. Take a listen to Vice President Kamala Harris Address that very issue. Since the start of 2021 more than 360 bills to restrict the right to vote have been introduced in nearly every state in the united states of america. Many of these bills specifically Target Vote by mail and, lets be clear about this, specifically Target Vote by mail while 64 of Asianamericans Vote by mail. This is the fastest growing demographic in this country. I think prior to 2016 we this was a Voting Block that was routinely overlooked. Asianamerican pacific islanders didnt identify with either party. I think that has changed drastically in this population. This population has been cemented as democratic voters. Given that i think those days are over, what do you think about harnessing the collective power of the Aapi Community given all of the challenges were facing in american democracy . Its a young Voting Block not by age, right . Just in terms of solidity and centricity. It was said by Jeb Bush not too long ago, the aapi Voting Block was the canary in the coal mine. Which way was politics going . Which way might outcomes be influenced. States like virginia, georgia, texas where aapi voters are now showing up and their populations are showing up as well. The new Great Melting Pots of our country are those states. Something that youve talked about in many different ways. As we look at those states and how the different people communities of Color Vote and when we were just listening to the Vice President and how she was commenting when we see these restrictions around voting access, it does affect this community greatly. And, you know, some of the numbers that came out recently in the last week that was looked at by aapi data, the aapi Voting Block has increased in terms of their activity by 25 . Thats double or triple some of the other groups. By The Way, you know this, tiffany, its because the base, the foundation is so low. We have not been showing up historically for voting. Well, i think that has changed and its certainly, like you said, aapi pointed out that Voting Block increased in 2020. I want to say, you know, the Aapi Community, there are 23 Million asianamericans and i think, richard, its time to disaggregate the data and acknowledge that various lived experience even under the umbrella of Aapi Community. Youll have to come back and talk about this more. You dont just represent the Aapi Community, you have a lot of things you can talk about, including alzheimers which is something i know is very near and dear to you. Thank you, my friend, for joining me and check out richards new documentary, sky blossom. This brings families of different backgrounds together and thats next saturday. Can you explain to me how Census Reapportionment works and why some stains gained representation and some states lost and whether that will affect future elections at the state and local level . Thanks. Thank you, dawn, for that excellent question. All right. Lets get to it. So its all the talk about the Census And Voting districts in the news, i can promise youre not the only person wondering wth is going on. So the number of college votes a state has and the number of seats in the House Of Representatives are both based on the states population, and thats counted every ten years in the census. The most recent census was last year, so its time to redistribute some of that political power. Before i get into the nittygritty, remember the first primary of 2022 is less than a year away, you guys, and on top of that, its in texas, which is suppressing the vote like the Rap Song says at the same damn time it just got awarded two more house seats because of that census. So heres how it works. Census appointment is the process of dividing up the 435 seats in the House Of Representatives across our current 50 states. Every state gets one automatically. The other 385 are based on population. Side note, that does not include washington, d. C. , so even though we have a bigger population than vermont and wyoming, we have zero representation in the house, but i digress. The Census Bureau tries to count up Everyone Residing in the united states, children and adult, whether or not theyre citizens. Even undocumented immigrants are supposed to be counted although your boy Donald Trump fought like hell not to. He even tried to include a question about citizenship and even though that was ultimately defeated, the debate may still have discouraged many immigrants from being counted. It uses the method of equal to proportions. This year texas gained two seats and North Carolina, florida, oregon any others also picked up one each while new york, illinois and california among others all lose a seat. Thats a trend thats been going on since 1940. The northeast and midwest have lost a net of 84 seats to south and west since then. As far as how this all might affect elections, well, that brings us to redistricting. The census will send more data to the states in the coming months about who lives where and the states will use that to redraw their legislative maps. In each state each district is supposed to represent the same number of residents, but how those boundaries are drawn can determine which party will win that seat for the next decade. So you guys, this is a knockdown, Drag Out Fight and it happens in every state. By The Way, republicans control a lot more of the statehouses that will be drawing these new maps. So this is a reminder to make sure you fill out your sense us in 2030. This is nine years away, but seriously, everyone counts. Literally. If new York State had counted 89 more people last year it would have kept that house seat. So, dawn, it will be a while before we know exactly how this will all shake out, but keep it right here because we wont be taking our eyes off this story at all. Welcome back to the Cross Connection, everybody. This is the part of the show where my panel and i discuss the hottest topics of the week including Conspiracy Queen Marjorie taylorgreenes wild Floor Speech on tuesday opposing a January 6th commission and defending the insurrectionists. While its Catch And Release for domestic terrorist for blm, the people who breached the capitol on January 6th are being abused and some even being held for 23 hours a day in solitary confinement. So, if Congresswoman Qanon wants to talk about victims. Lets start with Ronald Green of louisiana. In 2019 police told his family he died in a Car Crash after driving past a traffic stop, but new Body Camera Footage released last night by the Louisiana State Police tells a completely different story. Please be warned that these images are very difficult and painful to watch. You can see one of the officers kicking and stepping on the 49yearold. A handcuffed green tries to roll over, but officers order him to remain face down on his stomach. We then hear officers holding up his limp body. It took nine minutes for green to receive medical help, that is after he was tased by white troopers, choked and dragged by his shackled ankles. Louisiana police released footage of the deadly encounter after the Associated Press obtained and edited several clips this week. The department is taking disciplinary action against three of the officers involved including terminating one officer, but this all comes two years after greens brutal death. Joining me now, eli mystal, host of the Nation And Dean Obadala And Cohost of black women, own the conversation alongside Oprah Winfrey and Adrian Bankard premiering on own this coming tuesday. Ellie, i have to start with you because i am outraged, exhausted and angry. That video is practically unwatchable, and i think about that mans family and his mother and what they must be going through, and i just wonder, this is clearly not a system that can be reformed, and i just what can we do to stop this . Because it feels like its just time to burn it down, you know . We ask, please stop killing us. It hasnt happened. At this point its a demand and its still happening. What do we do . First of all, i just want to validate your emotion in your voice. Youre emotional because you just showed viewers a lynching. Thats what they did to that man. The video doesnt show the beating that that man got before he got out of the car because the cop admitted to it. Admitted to it on the radio to his supervisor that he just beat that man that led to his death. Thats on the video. If we cant get that cop in for questioning, why . Because the cop died later in a car accident. This is what happens when you Cover Up the lynching. The witnesses go away. They go into away and we cant always find them. This was a lynching that the Louisiana Police covered up for two years knowing full well what they did. What can we do about this lynching . Well, as always, it starts withholding these people accountable for their actions. That sounds so simple and so kind of, unsatisfying, in a way, given what we all just saw, but its the first step and its the first step that this country refuses to try. Hold these people accountable for what they admitted to doing on tape and for what we saw them doing on video as a first step. As a second step, there are a ton of laws and i saw you do it earlier with such an important passage of the antiasianamerican Hate Crimes bill. It took them six weeks. The George Floyd Justice and Policing Act has been on the floor of congress for almost a year now. Why cant i get the justice for Police And Bill passed. Whats wrong, congress . Why arent you doing this thing that will ban chokeholds and will Pierce The Veil of qualified immunity for Police Officers so that they cant so easily cover it up when they do this kind of dirt. Why arent you doing that . And the last thing i say and i dont want to dominate all your time, but the media has a role to play. As my Boy Kratzert said in your earlier segment, when they pass the Media Reports without independently verifying they are promulgating because police lie all of the time and this is just the latest examel. Ellie, i am so grateful to you for putting this in the right context. I dont even know the word to describe the level of outrage i feel thinking about what this mans his mother had to watch that tape. Youve organized all over the country. I am so ready for this fight. I am so ready for this fight because i dont want to see another person go through that. How do we organize ourselves out of this quagmire . Theyre attacking our Voting Rights and theyre attacking our lives and livelihoods and theyre killing us if theyre not overcriminalizing us and putting us in jail. As a longtime organizer, i have to say, as a people, for my people i am up for the most radical of things to make sure that we live. Yes, tiffany, and the emotion is raw because we continue to see this over and over and over again, and it is traumatizing want only to just our mental capacities to our emotional wellbeings and also to us physically and what we have to do is the first thing we have to understand that we as an individuals, we all have a role to play. First of all, we can show up in our local communities and demand accountability, demand justice. We have to look at the laws that are in our local city councils, that are in our local states and begin to advocate for the change. We have to gather people at our communities, come together and lift our voices up, but also we have to send a strong message to congress. You mentioned the George Floyd reform and Policing Act that still has yet to move. We have to be calling right now everyone watching. They need pick up their phone and call a member of congress, and we demand that we have Legislation Move that will protect us. It is also important for us to demand that we continue, that we continue to hold these Police Officers accountable. Its outrageous that this Gentlemans Family was lied to. Pointblank, period. That he died in a Car Crash and its a Cover Up and what we find out years later is that this man was brutally beaten, that this man was begging for his life. He was pleading for humanity and it is hard to continue to watch. It is traumatizing. It is absolutely and studies show that this is having a toll on our entire nation and it is particularly having a toll on Black Americans. There was a study in 2021 when you ask Black Americans about their mental State Of Mind that they have on average point to more bad mental days than other americans in this country because we constantly see ourselves at the hands of police violence, but we also see where there is no justice. There is no justice, but what we can do is work and demand justice. We can organize for it and we can never deny the fact that we can actually make a difference because it has happened. It will take time, but we can never, ever stop fighting for the justice. Yeah. Because justice will come. Dean, i know as a muslimamerican, that you have experienced discrimination and you know, your own encounters with White Supremacy. When i hear this crazy, asinine, slowwitted fool of a Woman Marjorie Taylorgreene make this comparison. Shes insignificant what really pisses me off is that there are people across this country who believe what she is saying and this stems from a long line of White Supremacy and institutional racism in this country. Im just curious, your thoughts on this situation as we just try to survive this 400year nightmare of being under attack of violent white rule. First of all, tiffany, your emotion is moving to me and everyone watching, and the pain you are articulating is something that listeners to my show who are black who called in, i cant tell you how many conversations i have on my show over and over again like a twisted, grotesque Groundhog Day with we see black people killed by the police, unarmed and as elie said its a lynching and a coverup and Marjorie Taylor Greene and it was lynching there and with the killing in louisiana it was white terrorism and a Cover Up going on. One of the worst parts is Marjorie Taylor Greene and other republicans are literally defending terrorists, but when it was Marjorie Taylor Greene last month called black Lives Matter the strongest Terrorist Threat in america. She used those word, strongest Terrorist Threat in america, when tlaib, she defended them as peaceful protesters and patriots. This is insane. Republicans demonized muslims during the time of obama left and right and now defends these terrorists. George bush said 20 years ago you are either with us or with the terrorists and flash forward, you are either defending the terrorists or youre out of the gop. Thats where they are. This is the party, theyre fascist, and thats hyperbolic and the last thing i will say around January 6th, i want them to stop using insurrection, call it what it was, terrorism. And lets put the onus to watch them Downplay And Whitewash terrorism and if they do that in my view, they are with the terrorists. Its that clear. It has to be black and white. No moral ambiguity. After 9 11, we need the same after 1 6. Dean makes such a good point. Even our former first Lady Michelle Obama endured this level of racism. She revealed that she endured racist slurs or her secret Service Agent revealed she endured racist slurs during her time in washington and her agent was saying that they had no protocol to defend against these kinds of verbal attacks and at the same time this came out when obama, when a new book alleges that obama called trump an fing idiot, i believe, and a lot of other things that a lot of us said. He used to have an Anger Translator and michael keegan, i dont know where to begin with this because it means something to have a president that acknowledges how whit supremely impacted our lives and to hear that obama echoes the sentiments and to hear what we all know that Americanel Obama endured all types of racist attacks that we can testify to, as well. I wonder, will there ever be a time when racism is not an issue. We celebrated this cultural shift in america. Im well past the time to celebrate a Power Shift where we are now at the whims at this type of violence. Your thoughts on all of that, elie . Look, we will never know. There will never be a full accounting on what the obamas went through and what they endured for the crime of being the black first family. They they had to deal with a level of pushback that i can scarcely imagine, much less understand. So i always just thank the obamas for their service. Politically the question is whether or not obama calling trump these words out in public during the campaign would have changed anything. I dont think it would have. I think he probably made the right call to try to stay back and tried to stay above the fray of all this. I dont think him telling Tell Me what you really think. I dont think that would have changed the outcome in the 2016 election because the outcome of the 2016 election was the revenge and the return of White Supremacy. Thats what that was. What you were talking about earlier, thats all 2016 was. We had a black president and white people got super pissed off with that and they found the lowest qualified, lowest account, trashiest white person they could find to hold him up as their god and thats what theyre doing with Marjorie Taylor Greene. I wrote a column about this, and its the same dynamic using Marjorie Taylor Greene to oppose aoc and white people will always find their trashiest citizens to Stand Up against our best citizens. Thats just kind of how they be. Kind of how they be. We kind of be a little tired of it. Im a mess and emotional this morning and im irritated and ticked, but do i want to acknowledge that we lost a comedy legend, Paul Mooney, the Fearless Luminary whose work spans the Richard Pryor Show and the Dave Chappelle Show and he died at 79 and his comedic genius that took an unflinching look at politics and racism will continue to live on. Dean, youre the Resident Comedian and he was Richard Pryors behind the Scenes Guy and his work on the Dave Chappelle Show introduced him to a younger crowd and his Character Negrodamus i will love forever, but your thoughts on Paul Mooney . People say about Paul Mooney, other people told jokes, Paul Mooney told the truth. Paul mooney was funny, as well. I encourage people go to itunes and listen to his album from 1993, race, grammy nominated. It resonates today. He talks about white sensitivity which we call now white fragility. He challenged people sitting in the audience over and over on racism, on systemic injustice in our society and he made people uncomfortable and by people i mean white people and thats why i admire him so much. As a muslimamerican who was a fulltime comic after 9 11 he inspired many in my community to challenge people and to challenge people and make them laugh. He has a great joke about double standards and thank God Paul revere was white because if he was black they would have shot him and we wouldnt have a country right now. Two things about white fragility that white people will laugh at mexicans and black people and we tell a joke about white people they get tense. Nothing was ahead of its time, so to speak. There werent a lot of black faces in the media, tiffany, you, joy, and others the story has been told and its been going on for decades, injufises. And thats because diversity a black woman who runs this network, rashida jones, and Caesar Conde and people in positions of power matter. Thank you so much for having such an important conversation. Elie mystal will stick around for another discussion later in the hour. Ill watch your special with oprah this Week And Dean obadala, Thank You both. Ive always been a republican, but ive never been a politician. God came knocking on my door last summer disguised as an angry mob, and it did wake me up what i learn side there are people in the country of sick and tired of cancel culture and the poison of critical Race Theory and the Big Lie of systemic racism all backed up by the threat of mob violence. We can try to blame Donald Trump, but the truth is bottom feeders have long had a home in the gop, but the new crop is better at saying the quiet part out loud like you just heard. Mark mclusky, the man who waved a gun that Waved A Gun At Black Lives Matter is now running for senate. Andrew giuliani later held a vague sportsrelated job in the trump white house. Hes now running for governor of new york and this Clown Vernon jones is running along kemp, and it is yet another audit of the 2020 election results. As many a great philosopher has said, what the i dont even want to say the next word. I dont know if we have the Bleep Button ready. Joining me now is rachel vinman, the cohost of the suburban Podcast And Lucy caldwell for the Joe Walsh 2020 campaign making her return on Cross Connection qwest , happy to have both of you ladies here. Lucy, youre the returning champ and ill come to you first. Look, as we look across this slate of candidates and you and i have talked about this. Theyre saying the quiet part out loud and the party has always been problematic and i know youre going through a political homeless stage right now, but i have to ask, as a conservative woman, you know, this is where i have challenges with some of the never trumpers because its fine. You didnt like trump, okay, but when you vote down ballot to support the republican candidates who enable trumpism, i mean, does that really help . So whats your advice to conservatives when it comes to voting down ballot for some of these folks running that weve seen . I think its very, very difficult because on the one hand, you want to reward some republicans who are showing vague, tiny amounts of courage. People like Liz Cheney and raffensperger, and even a Brian Kemp who is an incumbent in georgia who is being challenged by that candidate you mentioned. The problem is they all themselves are complicit in trumpism in some form or fashion, and so youre right. These forces have always been present in the party and now theyre at the front of the bus, but a lot of the lets just try to promote good republicans, the real danger in that is if theres any amount of complicit among those people and we have seen, there is, then you still have a problem and you still have the kinds of undercurrents that led to where we are now and that really imperil our democracy. Yeah. Imperil our democracy, and i will say for a long time, rachel, im really intrigued by your Podcast And Welcome to the show. I am happy to have you here this morning. I want you to take a listen to this sound like Vernon Jones who is running. Take a listen. Today i stand here along my fellow georgians to express my commitment to the integrity of our elections in the state of georgia. What happened in November Of 2020 should never have been allowed to happen and it would not happen again. Im here today to call for an immediate, forensic audit of the Georgia 2020 election. [ cheering ] i mean, let me just first say this Vernon Jones does not represent any large portion of the africanamerican population in this country, but im sure he represents things to make our conservative people comfortable. Rachel, your podcast, i think, is based in georgia. I would ask you the same question. When it comes to voting down ballot, what advice are you offering people particularly as youre talking to suburban women . Well, so actually our podcast, we do have a cohost who is a State Legislator in georgia. So maybe thats what youre thinking of and shes lovely, dr. Jasmine clark. So i would say when i watched mr. Jones speak, what i see is a performance, not politics and thats what comes to mind most. Look, we know what our problems are. Women know what the problems are. The problems are not election integrity. The problems are not trans kids and their rights or any number of things that the republicans want to distract us with. What we really need to do is the person who is going to win votes and win elections, a particularly down ballot is the person who addresses the problems that we know we have. So they can do all this, i mean, that was just theater, what you saw was just purely theater and i would suspect that mr. Jones is probably pretty happy that were talking about him right now because this is just the kind of earned media that he desires and it fine, we can do it, but its not solving any problems. What he did in that clip is he has created something that doesnt exist and he has proposed a solution. Meanwhile in georgia, Voting Rights are being taken away, people are not getting the vaccine in numbers that we would like to see, you know, theres still a problem with poverty, with education, inequality and hes not addressing any of those issues. Right. Theyre going to continue to lose voters because theyre not dealing with the issues. Yeah, and i think youre right. Look, i hear your point. He is happy that were talking about him and its always a struggle and thirsty for attention, so much so i had to block him on twitter. We wanted to acknowledge the worst of the worst and he qualifies. Oh, sure. Definitely. I hear you because i wish we could ignore him. Lucy, i would ask you, because this whole thing with mccloskey. For me to say black Lives Matter, for me to declare that my own life matters, not matters more, not matters less, just matters. His whole claim to fame was pointing guns at a protest declaring that same thing. Why in gop circles is saying black Lives Matter considered such a partisan or polarizing issue . Its a polarizing issue because the Republican Party is a race for grievance. To go to rachels point, yes, this is performance, maybe just performance, but now performance is politics. Mark mccloskey if you watch his Launch Ad its a Tour De Force On Bigotry and hate. He talks about black Lives Matter protester, who lets be clear, were walking along the sidewalk by his home last summer on The Way to peacefully protest at his neighbors house, the mayor, and i think because theyre black Lives Matter protesters he said that those people were trying to come and kill him. He talks about how in his ad theres no systemic racism, yet he refers to peaceful black protesters who are there to kill him. The guy is insane. The reason that people like Mark Mccloskey are getting a hearing is because their message is resonating, unfortunately, with republican voters more than the message of someone like Liz Cheney. There is a poll this week that shows that republican voters from january until now, Donald Trump has actually become more popular in a hypothetical Primary Matchup in 2024. Yeah. Its its insane. Were going to continue to have this conversation on this show. So Thank You, rachel vinman. Your debut was excellent. Youll have to come back. To change Voting Laws so as to favor Donald Trump and his supporters, but the assault on democracy goes beyond the ballot box. Last year, President Trump issued an Executive Order for the 1776 commission which he offered up as a rebuke to the 1619 project. Talk about one of the most decorated journalists, nikola hannahjones, it sought to expose the experiments origins in the laboratory of slavery. Trumps rebuke was not a private effort, but one that enjoyed the sponsorship of the state. Perhaps because of certain class of pundits still fails to regard trumps, and the assault of the Free Press was muted and the import of trumps actions is clear. Across the country, a wave of bills have sought to ban the 1619 project, critical Race Theory and other, quote, divisive concepts, unquote, from The Public sphere. This assault comes at a moment when many americans are realizing that they do not live in the country they were raised to believe in. The January 6th attack on the capitol, the deployment of secret police to portland and the constant broll of plaque people shot and tased by Law Enforcement has shocked the conscience of those who sincerely once thought themselves to be born into the worlds oldest democracy. The shock, along with the work of countless, writers, historian, sociologists and other academics is a broad revisiting of The American story. It is now clear that the creation of america required not only the theft of labor and land, but a national myth which we made pirates into patriots. This longheld national myth is not served by the recent reckoning. It isnt served by remembering Thomas Jefferson for instance as a man who ran up so much debt in his lifetime that those he enslaved had to be sold off at his death in order to settle his accounts, and yet, understanding that jeffersons career as a slave holder, at the bequest of a Founding Father does much to explain the actions of his project, this Understanding Cant be allowed to prosper, however, for white power can only retain its privilege in our political system if it can tell itself a story. This week the university of North Carolina chapel hill, a public institution, took the unprecedented step of rescinding an offer of tenure for hannahjones at the behest of trustees. Han najones 1619 project has enjoyed its share of critique which is as it should be, the longstanding national idea deserve to be, what they do not deserve is a Censure And Silencing of the state. I am not speaking of cancellation as culture, but as public policy. The present attacks on the 1619 project and critical Race Theory are not being waged through twitter, but through was offices of 19 State Attorney generals and the legislations of at least six states and the headquarters of 23 senators including the Senate Minority leader. The scope of this attack goes beyond journalism and history. When Donald Trump used his office to bully the nfl into depriving Colin Kaepernick of his career, that was cancellationist policy. When the legislatures of Florida And Kentucky moved to outlaw protests to make it easier to legally kill those who persist, it is cancellationist policy, twitter mobs are bad, but an actual mob, Bated By Elected Officials into attempting the violent overthrow of an election is something more. It should not surprise us that a hoard, addicted to a national myth that pitched white men as the unvarnished savior of all civilian is not prime to share the country that theyve been taught that they own. It is myth that Safrpth Phis Sanctify that action and they attack the vote to prevent us from enacting a better world. They attack the history to prevent us from ever imagining one. Number one, prosecutors typically are very protective of their own turf and want to work on their own cases and theyll join forces when they believe its in the best interest of justice to do so. So there are a number of reasons that Tish James and Sy Vance are joining forces. The other is strategically, they dont want to step on the toes of the other, if someone wants to give immunity to someone, hypothetically, weisselberg, it would not harm the others case. That kind of coordination is very important when theyre working on a case. I agree, if theyre going to civil to criminal indicates to me that there is some factual predication for criminal intent. Elie, i think the question that everybody wants to know, or at least i want to know, will we see Donald Trump arrested . Will we see this dude coming out wearing the white tank top, eating the bucket of kfc getting carted off into the Police Car and thrown in jail, what do you say . Come on, lets not go crazy, now, right . Don jr. , that will be interesting, right . One of the things thats not being talked about enough is Don Jr. And his family is implicated in a lot of the financial potential financial crimes that these people have allegedly committed in new York State. So that the Don Jr. Perp walk i still have some hope for, but heres the thing. Much as i love Tish James and much as i love my Home State of new york, these criminal investigations are into financial shenanigans committed by the Trump Organization that if we had prosecuted them in the 2010s and 2000s, might have saved us from the entire Donald Trump experience, right . This is cleanup work. I am still interested in the federal prosecutions that need to be coming for the crimes this man committed while in office. I seem to be one of the only people who can remember that the Mueller Report laid out ten instances of obstruction of justice, all of which Donald Trump can be prosecuted for now. His family and most of his administration were Walking Violations including Ivanka Trump and kellyanne conway. They can be prosecuted. Kristen nielsen and Chad Wolf and his gang of Human Rights Violators can be prosecuted for their crime against humanity and the violation of judicial orders to stop Family Separation policies. This whole administration needs to be held accountable for what it did while in office, not merely for the financial crimes that trump committed to get himself into position where he can run for office and i am still waiting on the federal prosecutions to come down the pike for that. Barbara, elie makes a good point because this does Cast A Dark Shadow over many parts of his family. He brought up jared and ivanka and the new york questioned Eric Trump. Do you think Donald Trumps family will be implicated in any of this, and if so, who might Donald Trump do . Elie is saying he might flip on all of them and might he step in front of a bullet, so to speak, to protect his children . Well, there have been indications of involvement in the very thing that Sy Vance and Letitia Vance are investigating fraud at the Trump Organization. We know Donald Trump jr. Signed some of the checks that were involved in the Hush Money Payments and Eric Trump has been questioned on taxes of properties at the Seven Springs resorts and other places. The facts are going to matter there. The beauty of a Paper Case from a Prosecutors Perspective is that its much easier to document what happened. You dont have to rely on eyewitnesses who might not have had the ability to observe or might have forgotten key details or might be impeached for bias. Documents dont lie and they dont forget. So the documents will tell the story here. So it is quite possible that some people can be charged if document, for example, show the documentation of one asset as having a lower value for one purpose and a higher value for another and comparing those two numbers will help reveal whether there was any fraudulent intent. As to whether Donald Trump himself would flip on the others, i dont know. I certainly dont think he is above putting himself before his family, but i think from a Prosecutors Perspective, typically you try to flip lower level offenders against the bigger fish and i would have to think by anyones estimation Donald Trump himself is the biggest fish here. So i would be surprised if see prosecutors make that offer. Well, we will definitely be watching, Barbara Mcquade, Thank You. Your insight here was very helpful and elie, you always bring the fire so Thank You for sticking around for this segment. Dont go anywhere because up next, stay tuned to find out whos up next. Who is up income at the helm at the outlet . None other than versha, she is the first editor in chief of Teen Vogue History and she is the Managing Director of now this and will Ox Fshlly kick off her new chapter this coming monday. Joining me now to discuss her new role is versha sharma. Very happy to have you here. My first question is, what exactly is the demographic of the readers of Teen Vogue because i am too old to read Teen Vogue and there are younger people, the Genz Generation and a lot of millennials work there, sandwiched between genz who is the demographic . Our Target Demographic is genz, millennials and people in their 20s and under, but as you said, Teen Vogue has, merged as a force in the last five to six years with astute political and cultural analysis for all Age Groups and its coming from young people. Its being written and published by young people which is our focus, which is going to be my focus certainly going forward, but thats just one reason why i am so excited to step into this role and to keep that kind of movement going forward. Yeah. Congratulations. Im excited to see you get this role and the significance of it happening Aapi Heritage Month is also amazing. A question for you from a journalistic perspective, because i think the Future And Discussion that we have of print journalism, right, moving to digital spaces, media is so interactive now. We, in this business, have to meet our audience where they are. How will you navigate this everchanging terrain as editor in chief because a lot of folks dont read papers anymore. They follow people on twitter. They get news from people on Twitter And Instagram and tiktok and what not. So what what are you going bring to that space . I would say it is all about social media still with young people and the platforms may change. Facebook have started to use facebook less and less and its all about tiktok and youtube has remained a dominant force and my seven years at now this have prepared me very well for this role because this kind of pioneered the social first Distribution Model Meeting audiences where they are on their social feeds with social video about news, trending pieces, culture and politics and Teen Vocal ready does a lot of that. Im excited to take the team to the next level to grow audiences and do more, because weve certainly seen that young audiences are very hungry for video on tiktok, youtube and also still on Twitter And Instagram. For sure. Im curious because youre all under the umbrella of conde nast. So when you find a story or when you find great content, how do you decide what goes in vogue or what goes in Teen Vogue . Is it hard to decide that or how does that Process Work . I think ana is the final say and its funny because when i was interviewing for this i wanted to put Amanda Gorman on Teen Vogue. I met her a couple of years ago, she became enough of a bonified star that she was on the cover of vogue for may and she deserves to be there completely. So i think that anna is absolutely paying attention to young women, specially who are changing the world and i am going to be excited to come in and continue to amplify some of the lesser known people who are up and coming rising stars who also deserve that attention. Speak of hypothetically, i know you mentioned amanda would be on the cover, and i think that would be fabulous because hypothetically, would a Weekend Host who might be a little older and out of the Teen Vogue demographic, is that something you might want to talk to anna about about being on the cover . We dont have to answer. You can text her while were talking, but seriously, i do want to ask you because given the space where we are in society, you know the demographics of the country are changing. People are paying a lot more attention to politics and there is this moment of racial reckoning as people call it. Your historic hire speaks to that. How will you bring that to the landscape of Teen Vogue and not only being of south asian descent yourself, but just everything happening with the rising majority of americans in the communities of color. Thank you for mentioning that, and it means a lot to me and to my parents and i am a proud indianamerican, certainly. This is a Coverage Area where Teen Vogue has been leading and putting them front and center and putting them on the cover and we will only continue that. I am coming into this role a day before its the Oneyear Anniversary of George Floyds death, and im thinking a lot about Darnella Frazier who was the young woman who was 17 when she filmed that awful, tragic video that the world has seen and shes a perfect xafrmel of how courageous young black and brown women are with the extreme injustices and society and theyre tired of it. Theyre fed up and they dont want to be a part of it anymore, and so i think the Darnella Fraziers of the world are who have been leading this racial reckoning over the last year and im looking forward to now it being a year later and taking a hard look at the followthrough. A lot of people, leaders, companies, brands, made promises in the last year and now its time to hold them to account for that, and i think that thats what well be focusing on at Teen Vogue among other topics and im looking forward to doing that. Im looking forward to your tenure there. It will be very exciting. Very quickly, do men read Teen Vogue . Do young boys read Teen Vogue . They do. Im excited to expand into that area, a very interesting trend is seeing how young people, especially younger generations are busting all sorts of gender norms and so i think that divide becomes less and less important, and its more about what issues young people care about and again, the climate change, sustainability when it comes to fashion, inclusivity and all of these things that cover every facet of our lives. Awesome. Versha, you will definitely be back. I hope you dont make a lot of plans on saturday because i would love to have you back on the show.
