Greene is trying to prop himself up, and turn over. We then see officers crowding greene, and holding up his limp body. Later, you see greene receiving medical help, after being tased by troopers, dragged facefirst, choked and left without medical assistance for about nine minutes. A major reversal from Louisiana State police, after they had been saying all week that they were not going to release this footage, because this investigation was still ongoigs. But what we heard from officials late yesterday is that because the a. P. Had dropped a second batch of this video, and officials felt that it was not being released in its entirety, and showing the complete context of that evidence, they decided to release all of the Body Cam Footage for the public to see, and as colonel lamar davis, the police superintendent, prepared to release that footage, he promised accountability, saying, quote, there may or may not be administrative violations related to the incident. Regardless, you have my commitment that we will follow the facts and hold our personnel accountable. Misconduct in any form in our agency will not be tolerated. I will not accept it for my staff or any member of our agency, as investigations are completed, i assure you that we will administer Swift Disciplinary action and that is important to a lot of people, especially many of those who are watching this Body Cam Footage. His fellow officers saying is your Body Camera on at which point the officer who was speaking turns off his Body Camera, and that officer was chris hollandsworth, he has been terminated for his role in this case and has since died, and there are two other officers who have been disciplined related to their actions on this day, but the family and the attorneys say that that is not enough. As it stands today, the State Police are still investigating this case. They have been doing so since 2019, theres also a federal civil Rights Investigation under way, that started, that began last fall. Kendis, lindsey . What do you make of the circumstances, and the newlyreleased videos themselves . Its extremely disturbing. The Video Images truly disturbing. Its not every day that you get a chance to witness a Lynching And Video of a lynching, i call this at this point, a lot of police porn, its vulgar and raw and not appropriate for all ages to view that is coming out following the death of mr. Greene, and unfortunately what we have by the administration of louisiana is a continuation of a troubling pattern of coverup, of deflection, and it doesnt really bode well for proving or instilling confidence in any investigation that may proceed from this point. The Family Attorney had this to say about the disturbing footages that we saw last night on Chris Hayes show. This tells me, because this is the supervisor approving these actions, that this is the policy. When someone runs in louisiana, officers feel like they get a free opportunity to be as violent and as cruel as possible. And so we Cant Blame this on Bad Apples anymore. This is their policy. This is the defacto policy for the Louisiana State police. And thats what we really need to drive home in terms of what were demanding come from this, is a revamp of that entire department. Yes, he says the entire department needs a revamp. You know, Police Departments all across the country, im sure you have some knowledge of the Police Department, do you agree with that, what the hell is going on in monroe . Also the accident that killed one of the officers on the same day that he was being disciplined . What is going on . That cant occur without there being, in that particular department, beyond toxicity, which is, you know, a common issue in Police Departments, and the policing, that toxic Police Culture that we often talk about. What occurred there cant happen without complicity, a total breakdown of professional standards, and decency, and respect for the sanctity of human life. So that tells you, what occurred there, with a group of officers involved, all directly involved, tells you that the problems there in that Police Department are beyond repair or reproach. Its important that there be a swift, complete, holistic comprehensive application of law, and whatever administrative processes to dismantle that agency. The Police Department also refused to release the Body Cam Footage for two years, and the family says they were initially told greene had died in a Car Crash. A state Police Officer did not open an administrative investigation until 474 days after greenes death. We can pop up their statement again about how theyre calling for transparency, and that Behavior Isnt tolerated in a department, but do those words match up with those actions . Not at all. Lindsey, this is really a situation where you have on full display not only a lynching, but usually what follows the lynching is the coverup, and the obfuscation of responsibility. Its quite clear, and its more disturbing, as more information comes out, and i suspect that over the next several days or weeks, there will be even more information that comes out, that will trouble us. But its absolutely unacceptable, and its absolutely screaming for immediate federal intervention and an independent investigation. Mark, i got to be really quick here. The second he said he was opposed, it opened flood gates. Every republican that we talked to in these hall, i chased almost all a with our team here, they said i dont know, we will follow the lead of the Minority Leader over here, the republican leader and were not so open to it anymore. Now this was supposed to be something that could have had bipartisan support and actually passed the senate. It requires 60 votes over here to pass. Ten republicans need to support it. And they are looking to what will happen that day and some say on the democratic side that is not enough and there needs to be an individual commission specifically looking at the problems that happened that day, and one interesting thing to look for here, this could potentially be the first actual filibuster of this year. Again, brought under control, fairly quickly. Calm so far here today. However, we are getting a snapshot of just what israelis think about all of this, about this ceasefire. Take a look at this poll. Its really quite stunning. Most israelis dont support the ceasefire. 72 believe the operation against hamas In Gaza should continue. And guys, it shows just how delicate this situation is. And just how much pressure israeli prime Minister Netanyahu is under right now. And it shows why he was emboldened to continue the effort on the israeli military side. Quite a contrast by the way, kelly, seeing that scene, compared to what we saw just about a week ago in this hour with those sirens over Tel Aviv. Lourn, to you in washington. The White House dubbed their response quiet diplomacy. What do they mean by that . Thats right, we know that President Biden spoke netanyahu six times over the course of the 11 days of conflict that we saw and we know u. S. Officials engained in more than 80 different meetings with the counter parts and allies in the region to help reach this Ceasefire Agreement. President biden never once publicly demanded that israel agree to the ceasefire, and officials have told Nbc News, that was intentional. Biden specifically did not want to take a very public approach to the Ceasefire Agreement. Officials tell us that biden learned from his experience in 2014, of course he was Vice President then, and in 2014, we saw another massive flareup of violence in the region. And that lasted more than 50 days then. More than 2,000 people died, and officials tell us that biden really learned from that experience, and felt that it would only inflame tensions more if the u. S. Put a lot of public and intense pressure on netanyahu. Of course, this is very different from the approach that many americans may be used to coming from the Trump Administration when as you may remember, a lot of diplomacy was conducted quite publicly including sometimes on twitter. And generally when you have a company looked at to be prosecuted, you have individual officers, senior officers, who are really at risk for being prosecuted. Either you have trump, you have his family and you have weisselberg, so the number of people are very small in this organization and so those are the people that should be really subjects or targets of the investigation. We just heard cori really name all of the different investigations that the former president is facing right now. How concerned should he be . Well, hes facing battles on a number of fronts and i think he should be very concerned. You have here an expresident , who has been involved in a number of litigations, in his life, and he seems to always get out of it, and so somehow, hes settled, but in the criminal context, its a lot more difficult to settle a case, because generally, a prosecutor will want a plea of guilty. And possibly jail time. Okay. I want to switch gears here to matt gaetz. Citing people familiar with the investigation, cnn is reporting his exgirlfriend who is a former Capitol Hill staffer is set to cooperate with federal authorities in that sex trafficking probe.
