MPs Oppose Plan to Print Ahmady’s Signature on Banknotes
Some MPs said that Ajmal Ahmady, the acting governor of the Central Bank, is planning to register his signature for a contract of the bank on new banknotes that are planned to replace used ones.
Lawmakers also said that Ahmady is planning to travel to Warsaw this week where he will monitor a previous contract of the bank. Ahmady said in a tweet on Saturday that he did not sign the new banknotes under their current contract “because they were signed by the former governor of the bank.”
TOLOnews attempted could not get the comments of the Central Bank’s spokesman on the matter despite multiple attempts.
