Plants for gardening are plentiful at the Lewes market. RON MACARTHUR PHOTO May 5, 2021 This Saturday, May 8, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market opens at 8 a.m., at George H.P. Smith Park (Johnson and DuPont avenues) with lots of potted plants, wreaths and flowers to help celebrate moms on their special day. In addition to flowers and plants, the farmers/producers will be bringing freshly cut asparagus, lettuces and greens, including mini-romaines, baby kale, arugula, Swiss chard, spinach, salad and stir-fry mixes. Customers will also find salad turnips, radishes, and perhaps, the first strawberries of the season. There is also a great selection of eggs, milk, butter, pork, chicken, mushrooms, honey, herbs, jams, heavenly baked goods, and more.
