Researchers have found a new way to tackle infectious mosquito-born viruses, such as dengue and Zika. A study published in the journal Cell Host and Microbe shows how viruses take control of host cells to promote their own reproduction. By understanding how viruses hijack cells, researchers can begin to develop new therapies for a range of mosquito-transmitted pathogens that currently have no known treatment or only limited options.
