Morgan County mother charged with murdering 7-year-old son A Morgan County woman remained in jail Wednesday without bond after she was charged with murdering her 7-year-old son and attempting to shoot her husband early Monday morning. Morgan County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Keith Howard said Wednesday that Alison Jones, 36, is charged with the murder of her, son Maddox Jones, who died of a gunshot wound in his bedroom. She is also charged with using the handgun to shoot at her husband, Douglas Jones, who was not wounded. The Jones family lived in Riverwalk on the Apalachee, an upscale subdivision bordering the Apalachee River off Price Mill Road on the Morgan and Oconee County line. The subdivision has a Bishop mailing address.
