It was a sunny spring day - as well as the first Saturday since pubs and restaurants were able to begin serving customers al fresco since lockdown eased - yet the event was still watched by 13.6 million viewers. The coverage of the funeral was spread across three TV channels, with the BBC (fronted by Huw Edwards, Sophie Raworth and JJ Chalmers) coming up top trumps with 11 million of the viewers, followed by ITV (hosted by Prince Harry's friend, Tom Bradby) with 2.1 million. A further 450,000 followed the proceedings on Sky.
