It was reported at the daily COVID-19 press briefing by the Ministry of Health for April 4, Sunday, Mongolia has hit the highest daily number of new COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, recording a total of 620 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. Some 12,235 COVID-19 tests were carried out at PCR laboratories in health clinics of Ulaanbaatar city and rural aimags. Among them, 503 newly confirmed cases were detected in Ulaanbaatar city and 117 in rural regions, including Akhangai, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Darkhan-Uul, Khovd, Orkhon, Selenge, Uvurkhangai, Sukhbaatar, Tuv, Khentii and Khuvsgul aimags. As a result, the nationwide infection tally is now 10,218, with the cases registered in the capital city reached 8,392.
