Michigan Totaled More Coronavirus Cases in Past Two Weeks Than Texas, California Combined On 4/26/21 at 11:40 AM EDT Michigan has become the country's coronavirus hot spot, with 91,000 new infections in the past two weeks, more than the cases in Texas and California combined, according to the Associated Press. This makes Michigan's infection rates the highest in the country as 4,698 new cases were reported on Saturday, adding to the state's total of more than 800,000 COVID-19 cases to date. "The numbers are going up. We know wearing a mask is our best strategy for keeping infection rates down for COVID-19. So help end this pandemic and mask up until more people are vaccinated," Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services tweeted Monday morning.
