A call with Mike Rizzo.The Fish are not frightening. That was the case when they were screaming into second place in the NL East, and it remains true now that they’ve slid out of the wild-card picture. Their lineup, behind Luis Arraez and Jorge Soler, is weak. It’s time to call Rizzo. The Nationals have a number of useful bats that aren’t necessary for a rebuilding team. The two I’m calling for: Jeimer Candelario and Lane Thomas. Candelario is a rental third baseman who would strengthen the Marlins’ infield, and Thomas is an outfielder good enough to find an everyday spot even if Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Avisaíl García are ever back together in the outfield.See where the Marlins fit in our latest MLB Power Rankings.
