Meghan Markle sued the publishers of The Mail on Sunday and the MailOnline, Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), over a series of articles which reproduced parts of a letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle. She claimed the five articles published in February 2019 involved a misuse of her private information, breached her copyright and breached the Data Protection Act. The Duchess of Sussex emerged victorious last month when she was granted a summary judgment for her privacy claim and she has now set a number of demands in a virtual hearing on Tuesday.
