Medical City Healthcare’s new chief medical officer will be Dr. Joseph Parra, who will lead the local division of HCA Healthcare. He will provide senior clinical direction and work to improve patient care throughout the Medical City Healthcare network in North Texas.
Parra was originally trained as a hospitalist, and arrives from within the HCA network having perviously been CMO at HCA Healthcare’s North Florida Regional Medical Center since 2019 in Gainesville, Florida. While there, the hospital increased quality scores and physician satisfaction. He helped guide the hospital through the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing guidance from HCA as well as the CDC. He was also CMO of Orange Park Medical Center in Florida, where he helped the hospital earn a Level II Trauma status.
