Mayors push for US Senate to consider gun background check b

150+ mayors urge US Senate action on gun background check bills, College Station's Mayor Mooney on the list
The bipartisan group of mayors from around the country is pushing for senators to pass two bills that would strengthen gun background checks.

A bipartisan group of mayors are calling on members of the U.S. Senate to take action on two pieces of gun violence prevention legislation.
In a letter sent from 152 mayors Wednesday, U.S. Senators are urged to consider H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and H.R. 1446, the Enhanced Background Checks Act. Both bills are meant to strengthen gun background checks.
