Of all the befuddling detail surrounding Gina Coladangelo’s former role as a non-executive director at the Department of Health, perhaps the least beguiling is that the high-flying Oxford graduate is said to have offered sartorial advice to the former Secretary of State for Health, Matt Hancock.
According to a friend (and who doesn’t require the heartfelt feedback of friends when one’s personal and professional life has been upended by an errant security camera?), Ms Coladangelo helped “sharpen up” the Heath Secretary’s image by imparting the timeless suggestion that he stick to white shirts with his work uniform of blameless (if uninteresting) blue suits and equally uninspiring ties.
