Staff Writer MARTINS FERRY — Students in Martins Ferry City Schools will have the opportunity to catch up this summer if their educations have suffered due to COVID-19 disruptions. Superintendent Jim Fogle said programs will be offered in compliance with requests from the state that all school districts devise a plan to help students who have fallen behind due to lack of in-person instruction and missed classes. “Our administrative team has met, and we drafted a survey that we sent out to our teachers,” Fogle said during Tuesday’s board meeting. “We are proposing a summer tutoring program. We’re looking at doing that the month of June.”
