Like many, I tuned in to the opening ceremonies of the Olympics in Tokyo. Like some, I had the DVR record it so I could watch while skipping the commercials. I love watching the parade of athletes, the grandeur of some costumes, the occasional man without a shirt, greased up to show off each muscle, and checking out the reaction of the athletes. Usually, they enter a stadium full of spectators, taking their seats among the throngs of people. Due to COVID, there were mostly empty seats, just a few VIPs like the emperor of Japan and the first lady of the United States.
