WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) â Marathon County residents are encouraged to provide input on what the countyâs share of the American Rescue Plan funding should be used for over the next three years.
County leaders will hold three listening sessions in early August while also taking online comments on what the money could be used for, as long as the project ideas fit into the allowable criteria.
According to the American Rescue Plan guidelines, which were passed last spring, the $26.3 million that Marathon County has received can be used for certain water, sewer, or broadband internet infrastructure projects. It could also be used to replace certain revenues lost due to public health emergencies that stemmed from the pandemic or to cover other expenses brought on by the pandemic.
