The ruling BJP in Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) council presented a surplus budget of Rs 157.4 crore for 2024-25. A property survey has begun to identify properties which are left out of the tax net. MCC is expecting revenue from property tax, water bill, trade licence, SWM cess, road cutting and restoration, UGD cess, market/stalls' rent, khata change, building licence and premium FAR, and advertisements.
