Police taped off the courtyard to the Centennial Gardens apartments after a man was arrested with a gun, according to scanner reports.

Syracuse, N.Y. — A man was standing next to his 12-year-old son when he fired a gun at a Syracuse apartment complex Thursday evening, police said.
Randell D. Myricks opened fire around 6:40 p.m. in the courtyard of the Centennial Gardens apartment complex, police said in records filed in Syracuse City Court. The 46-year-old Syracuse man targeted an apartment at 13 Centennial Drive, police said.
