According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a welfare check on a man walking in the roadway on Veach Road Friday around 9:30 p.m. Deputies say 31-year-old Josh Cliff, of Decatur, Illinois, was not cooperative with deputies. When deputies tried to detain Cliff, they say he assaulted a deputy and tried to run from the scene but was captured.
