MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are asking to speak to anyone who might know something about a shooting downtown they’re investigating as an attempted homicide.
The shooting happened near N. Pickney Street and Gorham Street, just off the Capitol Square, at about 6 p.m. on March 11th. Police say an arrest has already been made in the case, but officers are continuing to investigate and want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or knows what led up to it.

Police say a 21-year-old man arrived at a local hospital last week after being shot in the chest after a fight at someone’s home on the 300 block of North Pickney Street. Xavier J. Bandera was arrested shortly after the shooting on tentative charges of attempted first degree intentional homicide.
