However, Citizens Advice Northumberland can help by providing free and confidential advice and information to cancer patients and their families. The advice providing charity has a team of Macmillan-funded benefits advice workers who can help people navigate the benefits system to work out what they may be entitled to and help them access it. The advisers can also help people to apply for one off grants to help with energy, travel costs to hospital appointments and can also help appeal against decisions on benefits entitlement.
