Lowell man convicted of murder for shooting death of 23-year

LOWELL — It has been more than three years since 23-year-old Deija Mendez was shot to death in broad daylight in Lowell's Highlands neighborhood, and her still grieving mother continues to struggle with the question, "Why?"
