The Company Hopes to produce 20 million doses by the end of this year and is aiming to make between 500 million and a billion doses by next year. The Eu Commission described the news as encouraging on twitter. They hope to begin distributing a vaccine by january. Last week, the Eu Commission there vaccine is estimated to be 90 effective. Back in august, the eu bodies had exploratory talks have an aim of complying. The vaccine i supposed to be easier to store as it can be kept at 90 degrees for six months and in a normal fridge for up to a month. This presents logistical questions for companies. We are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel, not just with the two vaccines that have preliminary data to suggest high efficacy but also the fact that we are developing better treatments, the fact that many nations have shown that you can actually control viral transmission through basic Public Health measures like testing, widespread testing, rapid testing, tracing those who have been exposed, quarantining them, controlling your border. With this range of measures, vaccines, treatments, drugs that not only treat them treat the disease but might also prevent transmission in the way that aids drugs do, Public Health measures that we know can work, we see those being very successful in eastern asia and pacific rim nations like taiwan, japan, new zealand, south korea. There are some logistical challenges. You heard from that previous news report that the Pfizer Vaccine has to be stored at very cold temperatures. The majority vaccine has an advantage. We know that they will almost certainly be vaccinated first. There will not be enough doses to vaccinate everyone at first.
