A Fort Myers woman was arrested after the Lee County Sheriff's Office said she intentionally struck a deputy who was assisting with traffic control at 2 a.m. Monday for an event at the Fort Myers Event Center on Park Meadows Drive in Fort Myers. A deputy signaled for a tan GMC Denali being driven by Allaunah Williams, 27, to stop. Instead Williams ignored the command, revved the engine and struck the deputy, LCSO said. The deputy, who was later transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, radioed for help as the vehicle fled the scene. “I am outraged and will not tolerate acts of violence toward our deputies,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a release. “I am so thankful our deputy is going to be okay.”
