"black panther" is here, and it's breaking records. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom here at cbs headquarters. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. in florida the survivors of last week's high school shooting are pushing for gun control. there are new questions now about missed warning signs about the alleged gunman nikolas cruz. it shows law enforcement and other services had plenty of chances to intervene. cruz's mother called the police to her home 29 times since 2011. hena doba has more. >> good morning, anne-marie. many students spent the weekend trying to make sure such a massacre doesn't happen again. they say they're pushing to do what adults so far have been unable to, convince lawmakers to tighten gun control laws. students who survived last week's florida shooting are planning more rallies today after holding demonstrations all weekend. in their sight, gun control. >> i've cried a lot. it's turned into anger. anger as in motivation to actually do something. >> two nationwide protests are now being planned. te first by a women's march which is planning to organize a national school walkout on march 14th. it will be a 17-minute event, one minute for each person killed in the attack. >> our children need more than our prayers more than our "let's see what happens." they need action. >> and students at the florida high school where the shooting occurred are pushing for a protest on march 24th to send a message to the lawmakers on capitol hill. the event will be called "the march of our lives." >> your job is to protect us, and our blood is on your hands. >> if you only look at the instrumentality and you don't look at the person who's pulling the trigger, then i think you're doing a disservice to everyone who wants to see an end to killings. >> republicans are going to have the sate's more important to protect the children of the country than to antagonize the nra. >> student activists say they plan to travel to the state capitol to deliver pe tensions to call for a ban on assault weapons. president trump has spoken primarily on mental health while steering clear of the gun control debate. funeral services are scheduled today for two of the 14-year-old high school victims. two were arrested yesterday including jamie guttenberg. her father remembers her as the life of the party. alex shatner was also laid to rest yesterday. the family who took in nikolas cruz are baffled by what happened. cruz moved in with them after his mother died. they told the "sun sentinel" he was depressed, but he followed the rules. they say cruz had a handful of guns which they locked up and thought they had the only key. everything everybody seems to know, we didn't know. it's as simple as that, added her husband. ahead on "cbs this morning," adriana diaz talks with four students who survived the florida shooting and are leading the movement for tougher gun laws. >> this weekend president trump unleashed a barrage of tweets after special counsel robert mueller indicated 13 -- or rather indict 13d russians for interfering in the 2016 election. the president attacked the fbi, president obama, other democrats, and even his own national security adviser who said the case against moscow is clear. about the only group he didn't come down on, russians. errol barnett has our report. >> reporter: in the series of tweets president trump has sent, not a single one is critical of the kremlin. if it was the goal of russia to create discord, they have succeeded, he wrote. they're laughing their expletives off in moscow. the president was also critical of his national security adviser as he weighed in. >> as you can see with the fbi indictment, the evidence is now incontrovertible and available in the public domain. >> reporter: mr. trump respond, quote, general mcmaster forgot to say the results were impacted, not changed. >> reporter: republican congressman trey gowdy. >> i know all along russia tried to avert our 2016 election and they're going to do it in 2020 and every election thereafter. >> the evidence is unee kiv kca. >>. >> we couldn't get the obama administration to acknowledge the russian interference. they were very wary of appearing to put their hand on the scale, but none of that is an excuse for this president to sit on his hands. >> reporter: errol barnett, cbs news, west palm beach, florida. it appears that gates is going enter a plea this week. gates and manafort were indicted for money laundering and conspiracy. this would make gates the third trump campaign official to cooperate with the mueller investigation. and coming up on the "morning news," a facebook's ad crackdown. that i go old school to fight election propaganda on its site. and laced with meaning. lebron james sends a message with his sneakers. this is the "cbs morning news." yeah. yes i do. okay so you diet, you exercise, you manage your a1c? gun control measures. they'll visit the capitol this week and are calling for an anti-gun demonstration on march 24th. and in a string of tweets, president trump blasted them. the president attacked everyone but the russians. he attacked the fbi, democrats, and even his national security adviser h.r. mcmaster who called the evidence incontrovertible. the flu outbreak in the u.s. is taking its toll. the cdc says 84 children have dialed. older americans are also at risk. dr. jon lapook has more on that. >> reporter: it's bowling hour where flu is the common worry for the assisted living
