property values are lining up in droves to get around paying more next year. i'm wanting to prepay my real estate taxes. >>h, sure. >> reporter: right now, you can deduct certain state and local taxes, like xes, on your federal tax return. >> and i will be giving you a ceipt. >> reporter: but as of january 1, that deduction gets capped at $10,000. so if you own an expensive home or live near a big city like atlanta or dallas, or in a high-tax state like california, massachusetts, or new york, some taxpayers are scrambling to see if it makes sense to prepay their 2018 property taxes or even if you're allowed to. >> there is no one ansovar, an accountant outside of san francisco, said some stand to lose thousands. >> if it's confusing to the tax professional community, it's doubly confusing for general >> reporter: in new york, governor andrew cuomo signed an executive order making it easier to prepay property taxes. but in westchester county, a suburb just north of manhattan, reporter: president trump has repeatedly condemned the investigation of his campaign's contacts with russia. in a tweet yesterday he once again attacked the f.b.i. for its role, call the agency "tainted." but even before the investigation began, the u.s. intelligence community concluded that russia did attempt tofluenl election in president trump's favor. the question for special counsel robert mueller is whether the trump campaign, or even the candidate himself, worked with or colluded with effort. >> there is absolutely no collusion. >> reporter: trump's lawyers predict the division. >> i saw tears today, you know, from east of jeniles and it alwa detention hearing. so i downe actually, how upset hettorney, stated was and how sorry he was for the victim. >> reporter: last week, 22-year-old marquise bird was riding with his friend on on an interstate in toledo, when a sandbag launched from this overpass crashed through the passenger side wiiendsh, severely wounding byrd. >> reporter: byrd died over the weekend. the case is similato one in october where five teens near flint, michigan, are facing second-degree murder charges after allegedly throwing a six-pound rock off of an overpass that killed 32-year-old kenneth white. those teens have beened as adults but plded not guilty. as for the teens in ohio, the harshest punishment they could e detention until age 21. now, none of the teens involved has a criminal record. they were ages 13 to 14 at the time of the incident and, elaine, all four deny any charges. >> quijano: jericka, thank you. now a look at
