Tristate area. Storm scan3 shows that the region isnt clear, not just yet, but the storm is finally beginning to move out. Snow has been falling in some part of our area since friday afternoon. Good afternoon, and good evening, everyone, im natasha brown. Good evening, and were tracking the storm as it moves out of the region tonight. Eyewitness News Reporter alicia live in haddonfield, new jersey, we begin with lauren casey live on the cbs3 skydeck with what we can expect. Im still trying to figure out if it is evening or afternoon. Its been snowing all day. Whats happening . Now just dealing with some light flurries, might be authorities see, look like little tiny ice crystals, small in nature, but quite a bit of snow here on the skydeck, i got out my handy ruler. We have about 5 inches here on the cbs3 skydeck. And snowfall accumulations across the area, two to 5 inches, but some totals as high as seven and a half inches. The snow is starting to now taper off, pretty dramatically specially in the last two hours, really just dealing with flurries in and around center city philadelphia, down into wilmington, that snow that was very uniform and even heavy at times down the shore, is now tapering off, still do have the Winter Weather advisory in effect, but that will expire for the area, as we head into the 1 00 hour. So, now just focusing on some slippery icy roadways potentially headed into the overnight period, and second bitter blast, this isnt the colder he is air yet, when to expect High Temperatures only in the 20s, and if you want to know the answer, ill have it for you in the full eyewitness Weather Forecast coming up in just a few. Reporter well, first of all, it is pretty cold out here, shaking few seconds ago, but there is barely any snow coming down. I will say though from about 7 00 tonight to about 9 00 we did see at least three different snow bands kind of pass through here, heavy snow coming down when the bands were over us, and ill show you what all of the snow today left behind in this area, about two and a half inches or so, here, in haddonfield, thats my average for the region. But people we poke to today, they say the snow that came down, first snowfall of the season washings not enough it ruined anyones plans, but it was just enough to enjoy. The first snowfall of the season has hit our region. And it is the surprising for some to see these flakes in the area so soon. Normally like 60 or zero seven in the first two weeks of december. It may be the last week of december going in january it might hit like 19 degrees, 30 degrees, but now it is like full pledge early in december. Yes, it has been a while since weve seen snow this early in december. But this snowfall kept people like chris james busy as he worked in the outdoor christmas shops near the identification ring in front of city hall. Pick up pretty fast. It helped business. Because it kind of adds effect to the winter, to the Winter Wonder land kind of thing. This snow it seems is a welcome site for many. Im super excited, like one to ten, 50,000, because it is to gets you in the holiday spirit. But not all are as excited. Not really. But you got to take what you get, right . Almost all of our region saw snow today, a thick blanket of it covered all parts of south jersey from ocean city to haddonfield. And many parts of pennsylvania , from center city philly. Whether a fan of the snow or not, just remember, if you are going to drive out in it, be careful. It is kind of slick out there right now. The snow isnt sticking but about, you know, getting ready to pile up. So it is not going to be very good for the cars. And that last reminder real important, even with the snow now tapering off, remember, even though the snow mall may not be coming down in your area, the roads can have black ice, can have the sludge i snow, that can be dangerous, half inch, easy moves 2ton car right off the road. I came with my wentz jersey everyone is like go birds, go eagles, thats all, seeing fly eagles fly. Amazing. I dont know if you heard, it is kind of snowing back home. We heard. We saw the pictures. We saw the videos, everything. Are you feeling bad for people . Not at all. 08 degrees and beautiful here. Not many true rams fans here. I think there is a lot of people that jumped on the bandwagon two years ago, but not diehard like we see home. Moses, if i have to part the sea to make us win, ill. I feel like eagles fans will take over that stadium. Already have, already have. Angelo is here, already have. The black nights midshipmen here in philly, tailgating fans, talking little trash before the game at lincoln financial field. Players got pumped up for the 118th match up between armynavy at lincoln financial field. They stepped in to 30 degrees temperatures and onto a field blanketed by snow, still the teams and fans seemed unphased by this dose of winter. Snow blowers worked over time to keep the fields clear as the storied rivalry played out on the gridiron. Midshipmen versus cadets, each side bringing their own legions of loyal fans. Im a College Football fan anyway, i know im biased, but i dont think anything as special as the army navy match up. The Party Started long before the action on the field the uniforms, the military fly overs, signals philadelphia this was no ordinary game, no ordinary players, as both sides in the end, win or lose, played for the same team, team usa. These folks are not going to go play for the most part pro athletics when they get out of school, will go brother and sisters altogether, but to be able to match up on this field, especially in philadelphia, where i think it is where the game belongs, and it is just a great match up. Very exciting. Well you know the linc did look like the frozen tundra with all of the snow covering the field today. Fans were treated to a very entertaining game in the end, army took the prize, leslie. Un believable. It really was a great game. And big deal for a. M. Why police say they had to use deadly force during a routine traffic stop. In other news, tonight, a traffic stop turns into a shootout in camden, delaware, leading to the death of a 16 year old boy. Police say a state trooper pulled this car over on field stone court, around 3 00 this morning. Investigators say, as the trooper approached the car, the teenager sitting in the front passenger seat pulled out a gun. At which time gunfire was exchanged, between the trooper and the suspect. The trooper ends up shooting the suspect, he was eventually transported to an area hospital where he succombed to his injuries. Police say the 18 year old driver was shot in the leg during this shootout. The trooper err and 15 year old in the back seat of the car were not injured. Also tonight, the search is on for the gunman who shot 22 year old man in kensington, he was struck in the stomach outside after corner store, at e and westmoreland. This happened just before 7 00. Right now the victim is in Critical Condition at Temple University hospital. Authority meantime now say that the wild fires burning in Southern California have destroyed more than 800 houses , and other buildings. Firefighters work to quickly quench the flames by air today , six fires driven by gusty santa ana winds have torched Rural Communities from Ventura County north of los angeles, all the way south to san diego county. One person was killed since the fire started a week ago. Whenever they let people back in, i dont know, i think i would rather not see their reaction to whats happened to their places. Just looks like a war zone. And just so sad for the neighborhood. Officials say four of the wild fires are now at least 50 contained. Its been a snowy day across the region here locally flakes fell all across the tristate area. Laurens been very busy tracking everything. Street slick little bit right about now, temperatures falling, lauren, but great day it get out if you could get out and hang out on this ice skating rink maybe . But, you know, i was into it, i was excited as many of us were for our first snowfall of the season. Those people at dilworth park look happy. Visibility has greatly improved right now. See the entire skyline, live look at center city philadelphia. The snow has tapered off, just seeing few flurries passing on by, see decreasing clouds as we head into the next several hours. Thats going to allow temperatures to drop down into the 20s, at 31 degrees right now, west winds at nine, making it feel more like 23 degrees. But our snowfall totals, the winner, allentown, seven and a half inches respect kutztown, 7 inches, coat ville, Chester County over five, new total out of cherry hill 5 inches, mt. Laurel, four and a half inches of snow. So, not too bad for our first snowfall of the season. In philadelphia, our total, about 7 00 p. M. , three and a half inches, our average, first snowfall, actually december 10th. So were like right on time with this snowfall. But, again, it is coming to answer now, snow tapering off specially the next hour or two , little additional accumulation, but the focus now going to be on the potential for ice forming on the roadways, slippery conditions, especially due to the wet nature of the snowfall that we had throughout the day getting a live look at Rehoboth Beach during the 10 00 news, flakes were flying in the scene, now really hard to catch a flake, but certainly snow on the board, kind of cool looking scene there. The snow even in the last hour , tapering off pretty dramatically, specially along the coats, delaware beaches, seeing few passing flurries, the trends over the next couple of hours for few flakes passing on by, main moisture, main energy working up to the north and east with the snow falling across portions of new england, so future weather confirming for us the snow moving out as we head into the midnight hour, 1 00 overnight tonight, clouds decreasing then for our sunday a lot of sunshine in store, but really not going to help warm our temperatures up, we will be running below average, once again, and temperatures right now, chilly, 27 degrees, allentown, dropped off quite a bit in the last couple of hours, with that decrease in cloud cover. Chilly feels like temperatures right now in the teens. Feels like temperature of 8 degrees, in lancaster, and the trend is going for chilly weather headed into that next week, big dip in the jet stream, we get another reinforcing shot of cold air as we head into mid week. Thats going to allow for some of the coldest air of the season to fill in across the delaware valley. But overnight tonight, snow ending, decreasing clouds, mostly sunny, brisk, High Temperature only at 40. And our most mild day of the upcoming week, is tuesday, with a high only of 44 degrees , passing rain or snow shower, is a possibility, then as we head into wednesday , there is that arctic air, and it is going to be windy to add insult to injury, high of 29, specked wind chills in the teens. Welcome back, tonight egypt celebrating discovery of two painted tombs, they showed off skulls, bones, mummies and other artifact in the southern city. The two small tombs date back some 3500 years, located on the west bank of the river nile, in the cemetery, and thats where noble men and top officials are burried. One of them has very nice wool, and found number of object, big number. Very nice statute and figurine cover inch, mummy, some of them are gold guilded.
