park looking at the city you can still make out buildings. it just goes to show haze humidity not in full force just yet but that will change over next few days. seventy-three at philly international. sixty-nine in trenton. sixty-seven in mount pocono and allentown. in the lower 70's in south jersey and capitol city of delaware, your suburbs upper 60's pottstown and willow grove. we have a breeze out of the south at five to 10 miles an hour, still areas that are calm but that south wind that starts to crank up heat and humidity. great news if you have outdoor plans we have been nice and dry, we will see fair weather cloud moving on through late in the day up toward lehigh valley poconos there will be a chance for isolated shower or thunderstorms. we will call it partly sunny but more humid throughout the day-to-day and around the region we will go afternoon high of 90 for philadelphia lower 80's at the shore with full sunshine in the poconos. better chance late in the day high temperatures in the the lower 80's. we are looking at mid 90's in the seven day and i'll show thaw in a few minutes. back to you. we have some breaking news out of west oak lane this morning, a mother and her one year-old daughter are stabbed during a domestic dispute overnight. both are in the hospital and police are hunting for their attacker. cherry greg from kyw nude radio is live where that little girl was taken to st. christopher's, how is she doing. >> good morning nicole, that baby girl is here at st. christopher's fighting for her life and her mother is in einstein doing the same. police say a man stabbed that baby girl, in the chest while in her mother's arms. it all happened just before 12:30 sunday morning when a man stabbed a 37 year-old mother as she held her one year-old baby in her arms. police arrived on the 19 hup block of dallas street to find the mother with multiple slash wound, and a baby girl, single stab wound to the chest. both mother and daughter were rushed to einstein hospital where the the mother remains in critical condition. one year-old girl was in transport, to st. christopher's hospital for children where she also remained critical. police are on the look out for the man man committed the stabbing, no word on whether he is the father of the child. again, nicole both the baby and mother are remaining in critical condition this morning following that domestic situation. police have not released the name of the suspect or his relationship to that mother and child as their up investigation, continues. as the the rest of the community prays for a swift recovery. in this tragic situation. back to you nicole. >> cherry, just an awful story, thank you for that update, we appreciate it. new this morning a car end up in the schuylkill river, yeah, police working to retrieve that car which ended up in the water near boat house row. currently no one was in the at the time but police are trying to figure out exactly what happened there. also in the delaware county police are investigating a brazen robbery of the cvs they said two men tied up two employees at gunpoint in the back of the store shortly after 10:00 o'clock sat take night. stores is located in aston in the 5,000 block of pennel red. >> it wasn't a hostage situation, they were tied up, they removed money and from the office, and then they fled the scene. >> we're told no employees were hurt and that the crooks escaped with an unspecified amount of money. it has been one year since a car crashed through a fruit stand in philadelphia killing a mother and three of her children. the the community gathered to remember these victims. 25th 2014 police say two men jonathan rosa and cornelius crawford carjack a woman blocks away. police say she was being sexually assaulted as suspects lost control of her suv ramming in the crowd of five, at the corner of allegheny and germantown avenue. three children, 15 year-old keira williams, ten year-old joseph reid and eight year-old terence more more were killed instantly. their mother, keisha williams died in the hospital days later. >> they need a parent to raise them so i'm taking over and trying to make the best of it. >> reporter: cher main williams now has custody of keisha's two surviving children. one year later one of the first lessons she wanted to teach them is how to learn from this. >> i will be celebrating their memory when they were here, not their death but i'm jillian johnson she and 21 year-old macy breaux were gunned down inside the movie theater, nine others were injured. as the community mourns signs like this ask for prayers for victims and their reporter: the community plans to so these flags into a large quilt, at the same time that investigators are trying to figure out why john houser chose this quiet city. a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation, tells cbs news, that police found writings in houser's room that said he wanted to target law enforcement, governmental agencies and abortion clinic and anyone else will do. he had written the the name and movie and she time he planned to attack. the authorities say the gun houser used to carry out the shooting was purchased legally last year despite his criminal history and mental illness. kenneth craig for cbs news lafayette, louisiana. meanwhile in illinois a family and friend gathered for funeral of sandra bland who was found hanging in the texas jail cell two weeks ago after she had been arrested following a controversial traffic stop. bland's death remains under investigation but prosecutors say preliminary autopsy results revealed that she committed her father who was killed by a hashing during a diving trip this happened off the the coast of australia as they divide for scallops. police say that daughter return to the boat with some of the catch. when she looked back she saw a large shark attacking him. sharks we're told are common off australia beaches but fatal attacks very, very rare. very sad story there. back here though with images of the shark caught in ocean city back here at home. fisherman paul, snagged that fish on 30th street beach. now he caught him right off the shore as you can see from those photos. lucky to perfect that shark it is a catch/release situation. so he went right back to fishing after letting that shark go. it does raise our awareness about these animals and justin, you said with the warmer weather that is why we are seeing more of that especially on the new jersey shoreline. >> yeah, waters have been above average this summer. we are seeing a lot more shark attacks as well, areas of north carolina, down south of the coast. they are out there people catch them off the coast of delaware, new jersey. they're there. if you have ever try not to think about it the in the water. live look, at the the margate right now and nice and quiet here on the beach. no one out there nice morning. you can see sunshine mixed with cloud. ocean conditions are calm but that wind will kick up out in, we have that south wind coming in right off of the atlantic ocean. here we go dew point temperatures measures moisture contend. right now 62. last week at this time we were dealing with the mid 70-degree dew point. that was a tropical air mass. yesterday we were in the 50's. so yeah, we're climbing. right now it is in the bad but it will be at a steamy level later this afternoon and will feel oppressive by middle of the week. good news is though, not much happening on storm scan three. we have cluster of showers and storms well to the north across upstate new york but if you have outdoor plans it is a go. there is a weak cold front. couple showers over ohio. it could trigger off isolated showers or storms mainly in the poconos later this afternoon. there is a front ahead have on it, it is hot humid. temperatures 90 degrees this afternoon. then the front moves over us during the day on monday. it is tomorrow our best chance, to see some scattered showers, and storms, again keyword is scattered and we do need some rain. we're down an inch or so of rain a month. so needed rain now in the forecast tuesday we're back into the sunny conditions, hot and humid. lower 90's. may feel hotter then that when we factor in the humidity. through the day-to-day and afternoon sunshine mixed with some cloud mid to late afternoon we could see isolated shower or storm northern lehigh valleys and poconos from the city south and east. it should stay dry. then tomorrow afternoon you can see a little bit more coverage in those showers and thunderstorms, but there is really in big severe threat with those storms. that is good news there inland temperatures today well in the upper 80's to 90 degrees. we will get relief down toward the new jersey shore and delaware beach west that breeze off of the water. enduring the evening, it stays pretty warm, in mid to upper 70's to around 80 degrees by 8:00 o'clock tonight. if you have dinner plans maybe around town. and then tomorrow expect more clouds, and a few showers around, at times and that may knock the temperatures down a little bit but still humidity levels on the high side. now what is ahead over the next few days? we will check out the jet stream, right now, to the north of us, and that will allow that to expand from the center of the country. watch out what happens as we hit tuesday and wednesday. that core of the hot air moves in. so wednesday and thursday is our hottest day. then jet tries to take a dive southward, knocking back the heat a little bit for next weekend. at the cher today though lots delays or problems on this portion of the 202 and 202 looks fine through the area moving the traffic cam again to the ben franklin bridge mid span, if you are heading to the shore no delays on the area bridges ben franklin or walt whitman. further up 42 freeway looks good, so does 55. no problems on the ac expressway or garden state parkway. on to i-95, this portion of the i-95 right at the blue route, i-95 and the blue route, if they are in your travel plans should encounter in delays so far. so a good drive where ever you are going this morning. if you are taking mass transit keep in she was being swindled. >> these are people who have worked so hard for their savings and now they are giving it all away to the romance scammers. >> reporter: aarp says that seniors are a prime target for on line dating scams. the scammer found janet on match.com. in a statement the company says it requires users to pledge never to send money or share financial information with other match users. and to report anyone who asks for money or financial information. to spot on line dating scammers, look for these who make frequent spelling errors, use fake photos, crime to be working overseas and especially those asking for money. despite being duped janet has in the given up her search for a companion on line but just a lot more savvy. >> i went trust anybody on it without doing and mount pocono, reading you guys are at 70 degrees. so many of the suburbs hanging out in the upper 60's. pottstown, well owe grove both in the upper 60's as well. dew point temperature starting to increase. once we hit 60's that is when we will feel uncomfortable. it is on the humid side and these numbers will continue to rise. now not as bad as last weekend. the last sunday those dew points were in the mid 70's, that is a tropical air mass. we're in the quite that hot. nice and quiet storm scan three, notice a few clouds, coming in the with the building heat and humidity. it could be an comprehend that violence. 7:33. happening today president obama wraps up a historic vice to kenya. he gave a rousing speech to kenya youth and civil leaders. later the president will fly to ethiopia before heading home. his trip was friendly but not without controversy. wendy gilette has the details. >> reporter: president obama is making history and making waves in his first presidential visit to kenya. he is the first sitting u.s. president to visit the country, his first full day in kenya brought a moment of controversy when asked about gay rights. >> when you start treating people differently that is a path whereby freedoms begin to erode. >> reporter: kenya's president says this is in the a view he shares. in kenya gay sex is punishable by up to 14 years in prison. >> this issue is in the really an issue that is in the information mess mind of kenya. >> reporter: rest of the visit has been smooth in the country where president obama is considered a native son. two leaders have discussed environmental and economic partnerships and cooperation on counter terrorism. kenya faces continued threats from the somalia based terror group al-shabob which claimed response park looking at the city you can still make out buildings. it just goes to show haze humidity not in full force just yet but that will change over next few days. seventy-three at philly international. sixty-nine in trenton. sixty-seven in mount pocono and allentown. in the lower 70's in south jersey and capitol city of delaware, your suburbs upper 60's pottstown and willow grove. we have a breeze out of the south at five to 10 miles an hour, still areas that are calm but that south wind that starts to crank up heat and humidity. great news if you have outdoor plans we have been nice and dry, we will see fair weather cloud moving on through late in the day up toward lehigh valley poconos there will be a chance for isolated shower or thunderstorms. we will call it partly sunny but more humid throughout the day-to-day and around the region we will go afternoon high of 90 for philadelphia lower 80's at the shore with full sunshine in the poconos. better chance late in the day high temperatures in the the lower 80's. we are looking at mid 90's in the seven day and i'll show thaw in a few minutes. back to you. we have some breaking news out of west oak lane this morning, a mother and her one year-old daughter are stabbed during a domestic dispute overnight. both are in the hospital and police are hunting for their attacker. cherry greg from kyw nude radio is live where that little girl was taken to st. christopher's, how is she doing. >> good morning nicole, that baby girl is here at st. christopher's fighting for her life and her mother is in einstein doing the same. police say a man stabbed that baby girl, in the chest while in her mother's arms. it all happened just before 12:30 sunday morning when a man stabbed a 37 year-old mother as she held her one year-old baby in her arms. police arrived on the 19 hup block of dallas street to find the mother with multiple slash wound, and a baby girl, single stab wound to the chest. both mother and daughter were rushed to einstein hospital where the the mother remains in critical condition. one year-old girl was in transport, to st. christopher's hospital for children where she also remained critical. police are on the look out for the man man committed the stabbing, no word on whether he is the father of the child. again, nicole both the baby and mother are remaining in critical condition this morning following that domestic situation. police have not released the name of the suspect or his relationship to that mother and child as their up investigation, continues. as the the rest of the community prays for a swift recovery. in this tragic situation. back to you nicole. >> cherry, just an awful story, thank you for that update, we appreciate it. new this morning a car end up in the schuylkill river, yeah, police working to retrieve that car which ended up in the water near boat house row. currently no one was in the at the time but police are trying to figure out exactly what happened there. also in the delaware county police are investigating a brazen robbery of the cvs they said two men tied up two employees at gunpoint in the back of the store shortly after 10:00 o'clock sat take night. stores is located in aston in the 5,000 block of pennel red. >> it wasn't a hostage situation, they were tied up, they removed money and from the office, and then they fled the scene. >> we're told no employees were hurt and that the crooks escaped with an unspecified amount of money. it has been one year since a car crashed through a fruit stand in philadelphia killing a mother and three of her children. the the community gathered to remember these victims. 25th 2014 police say two men jonathan rosa and cornelius crawford carjack a woman blocks away. police say she was being sexually assaulted as suspects lost control of her suv ramming in the crowd of five, at the corner of allegheny and germantown avenue. three children, 15 year-old keira williams, ten year-old joseph reid and eight year-old terence more more were killed instantly. their mother, keisha williams died in the hospital days later. >> they need a parent to raise them so i'm taking over and trying to make the best of it. >> reporter: cher main williams now has custody of keisha's two surviving children. one year later one of the first lessons she wanted to teach them is how to learn from this. >> i will be celebrating their memory when they were here, not their death but i'm reporter: the community plans to so these flags into a large quilt, at the same time that investigators are trying to figure out why john houser chose this quiet city. a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation, tells cbs news, that police found writings in houser's room that said he wanted to target law enforcement, governmental agencies and abortion clinic and anyone else will do. he had written the the name and movie and she time he planned to attack. the authorities say the gun houser used to carry out the shooting was purchased legally last year despite his criminal two weeks ago after she had been arrested following a controversial traffic stop. bland's death remains under investigation but prosecutors say preliminary autopsy results revealed that she committed valleys and poconos from the city south and east. it should stay dry. then tomorrow afternoon you can see a little bit more coverage in those showers and thunderstorms, but there is really in big severe threat with those storms. that is good news there inland temperatures today well in the upper 80's to 90 degrees. we will get relief down toward the new jersey shore and delaware beach west tomorrow expect more clouds, and a few showers around, at times and that may knock the temperatures down a little bit but still humidity levels on the high side. now what is ahead over the next few daughter stabbed critically. their attacker still at large. cherry greg from our sister station kyw news radio 1060 is live for us this morning outside of st. christopher's where that little girl was taken. how is she doing this morning. >> reporter: good morning, nicole. both that baby girl and her mother are in critical condition this morning. police say a man stabbed the little girl in the chest. stabbed her mother multiple times as she held the baby girl in her arms. police say it all happened just before 12:30 sunday morning, that is when a man stabbed a 37 year-old mother, as she held her one year-old baby in her arms. police arrived on the scene in the 1900 block of dallas street, to find the mother, with multiple slash wound and the baby girl a single stab wound to the chest. both mother and daughter were rushed to einstein hospital where the mother rein mains in critical condition. the one year-old girl was then transported to st. christopher's hospital for children where she remains critical. police are on the look out foreman who committed the stabbing, in word on whether he is the father of the child. again, that baby girl re mains in critical condition here at st. christopher's as police work to figure out what led to that tragic double stabbing and as they work to track down the man who did it. police have have in the yet released the
