A teacher fired from the main line Catholic School and tonight many are questioning if the decision was based on her sexual orientation. Reporter jessica, this teacher, who was let go has been working here at wall done Mercer Academy for eight years. Her name is marge i winter. She has been working here since last friday when parents received an email confirm that winters had been let go. That is a picture of the teach. There are wording of the email led parents to believe she had been let go due to the fact that she is in a same sex marriage. He has been married to her partner since 2007. The principal mel sent out an email last week and it made waves this this community this school, while catholic, is not under the purview of the archdiocese of philadelphia, which means any personnel decisions are made only by the school itself. In that email to parents the principal would not give us a specific reason for the firing but mentioned that the school must comply with the churchs teaching, if it is to remain catholic. The Catholic Church as you know opposes same sex marriage. Today a rally in love park led by state senator daylen leach denounced the firing. Everyone is doing a fantastic job she never had a problem with the school or with the students. This is the only issue that is in anyway, impact the Catholic School message. He has been identified as 30 yearold kevin way from right here in hatboro. 10 18 a a. M. , panic button at td bank on south york road is push. A robbery was in progress. He went into the bank. He gave a note to the bank teller that indicated that they didnt get money he would shoot up the place.
