very uncomfortable but hey it is early july, typical for the delaware vale. some clouds over us, actually keeping the temperatures down little bit. things are somewhat quiet on storm scan3 check it out. not seeing whole lot of activity. we have some clouds, few peaks every sunday, spotty showers a lot of this not even reaching the ground. may run into few sprinkles over the next fewer hours, but later in the afternoon evening, we see our best shot to see some scattered showers and thunderstorms, the good news is the severe threat is pretty low today. so that's something to be thankful for. here is what to expect. still steamy conditions throughout your wednesday watch out for the late afternoon, early evening showers, storms, things should calm down after 8:00. but still watch out for heavy downpours, because, there is so much humidity around, you can feel a lot of moisture in the air, can dump heavy rain. eighty-seven in philadelphia, lower 80s up in berks county right now in allentown reading, the suburb, similar numbers, 83 willow grove, 87 in palmyra, new jersey, factor in the humidity, feels whole lot warmer, low 90s right now the current heat index through today, watch out for late day showers storms, highs near 90 for philadelphia, upper 80s at the shore, upper 70s in the poconos, we'll have the seven day forecast coming up in a few minutes, ukee, back to you. >> justin, see you in a bit, thank you. more breaking news this noon, police have man in custody after bank robbery in a normally quiet montgomery county town. it happened about 10:30 this morning on the south york road in hatboro. cbs-3 "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria live in hatboro more on how citizen took matters into his own hands. >> reporter: here off warminster road, the conclusion site of this morning's ordeal began about 1 mile before that, at the td bank on york road here in hatboro. now, police tell me, just after 10:15 they were alerted to holdup alarm. >> this yes given description of confirm bank robber. at that point they were told choice had gun between a citizen witness and that suspect. a chase that ended about 15 minute later here in this parking lot. leaving one person injured now, the unique part about this is that police confirmed to me that it was another citizen, and not the suspect that fired that shot. and actually, we have a truck right behind me right now but actually some first aid equipment on the ground behind that we've been told, one person has been taken to the hospital presumably that suspect, now police are telling me, they are still trying to figure out little bit more about this citizen who may have fired this shot. they are also -- it is also unclear at this point if the suspect, in all of this, was armed. reporting live in hatboro ukee, we send it back to you for now. >> thank you. developing this noon, united airlines flights are back up and running after computer glitch grounded all its flyings nationwide this morning, although service restored travelers being told to expect residual delays. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo over at philadelphia international airport, to tell you more about it jan? >> reporter: ukee, good afternoon, i just spoke to officials here at philadelphia international airport. they tell me that because united airlines footprint here at phl is relatively small that passengers shouldn't expect widespread delays across the board from here on out. however, it was most certainly a frustrating morning for passengers who fly united airlines. >> standing room or sitting room only, at the check in counter for united airlines wednesday morning. flights nationwide and here at philadelphia international airport were put on ground stop for roughly two hours after a problem with united's computer system. >> we didn't understand what was going on at first because they weren't really explaining it to us. i guess the internet server was down, so no one could check in. >> instead, they got error message trying to check in. please try again left many passengers frustrated and confused. >> just fantastic. all i want to do is stand another 15 minute in this line. >> by 9:30 a.m. the system was back on line, united apologized for the inconvenience, posted this statement to its twitter account. we are recovering from network connective at this issue restoring flight apps, will have a waiver on united. com to change flights. telling "eyewitness news" some passengers experienced three hour delays and there still could be residual delays throughout the day. >> we have connecting in houston, so, hopefully that will get pushed back too. >> united operates 20 flights in and out of philly every day. these folks just hope that their flight takes off sometime soon. >> finally making my way home to my beautiful wife and lovely kids. >> the sooner the better. >> you got it, yes nothing but a great delay to just keep me in philly. >> and again phl is urging travelers to call on their flight ahead to see if it is indeed leaving on time. united warning its passengers that they are still again could be those residual delays. recording liver at philadelphia international airport. jan carabeo, cbs 3 "eyewitness news". >> jan, there has been ripple effect. grounds stop impacted travelers at los angeles international airport. united terminal filled quickly. decline of delayed travelers stretched right out of the door. travelers encounter long lines during the outage at chicago o'hare airport. ground stop reportedly delayed more than 100 flights there. similar scene at nashville airport this morning travelers waited at the united terminal until the computer problem was resolved. >> more fall out from entertainer bill cosby bombshell under mission under oath. disney removed his statue at the television arts, several on line petition called to have disney remover the statue. cosby yet to comment on newly-released court documents, he admitted to obtaining drugs to give it to women with whom he wanted to have sex. ebola fears sparked hawes mate situation. responded to east kennedy boulevard last night after man fell ill. health department officials confirmed the man was admitted to monmouth medical center in lakewood, after being diagnosed with mal air a ya. man recently returned from after, a but not country on the ebola watch list. women's world cup champion team member, carli lloyd arrived in philadelphia overnight in the we hours of the morning delran new jersey native scored three goals in the first 60 -- 16 minutes of the game against japan received bill weeing come home from her boyfriends early this morning. >> the weather is -- there is a chance of rain throughout the whole entire day and it is partly cloudy and the temperature is about 78 degrees. >> that's perfect 78 degrees, kind of muggy out here right now. i head down to my friend, alley. how old are you? >> six. >> you're six years old. where are you from? >> philadelphia. >> philadelphia, and you came all the way up here to be a kid caster, right? >> yes. >> and why do you want to be a kid caster? >> because i'll be famous on tv. >> you want to be famous on tv? >> yes. >> i love it. you definitely have the look for t these kids will all stands in front of this weather map. weather icons are over here. what they will do, they will come over to the table they'll pick out what they think the weather is, maybe 90s, do we think 90's guys, today? no not 90's? >> okay, we'll. >> with 80s today the chance what this afternoon? >> thunderstorms? >> no. >> no? no thunderstormsment maybe later this afternoon, but we may escape without the thunderstorms today. so we have our numbers, we have our board. these guys are going to really knock it out of the park today. i'm seeing a lot of talent herement how many of you want to be meteorologists when you grow up? >> yes. >> all right this is so much fun. after we get these auditions you have to look on "eyewitness news" we cut them down we will pick -- back to you. >> all right kate, we're having some technical issues here, we can't hear you but it look like it was a great time. >> oh, they love the meteorologist, my man devlin said he want your gig. he sent me a note before you went on tv. >> i will bring my a game on this weather cast, get the forecast right then. tracking some showers, some storms later this afternoon and you can just feel that humidity outside. that's what will help bring some heavy rainfall possibly later this afternoon. but, looking okay outside right now. we take you down to the shore good place to hang out stay cool. live look at ocean city on the boardwalk right now, people hanging out there still it is warm, temperatures there in the lower 80s along the coastline, nice breeze coming up out of the south off the atlantic ocean. we talk about what's what to expect as far as the headlines go over the next couple of days. again, tracking the chance for scattered showers storms, today, and again tomorrow afternoon, and evening. but big changes by friday. you will notice the difference, as far as the humidity goes, looks like right now we set up to see decent weekends, hopefully get through the entire weekends on the dry side. here's what's happening on storm scan3 not whole lot. great news. headed out the next few hours may run into light sprinkle, that's about it, but not seeing any storms fire up to the west as yet. that could change later this afternoon, however, the good news is the severe threat is going to be low this afternoon. so if we do get some showers and storms, most likely just going to get little lightning and potential for heavy rainfall. eighty-seven at the airport right now lock at the difference when you get to the other side of the cold front 67 in pittsburgh at this hour, 68 buffalo. front comes through tonight, really not going to bring cool down for the temperatures. but at lows start noticing the difference in the humidity levels by friday. dew point temperature measures how much humidity is in the air. currently 68 degrees, how does it guage us? pretty much oppressive. that's what we are dealing with through the day today and once again on thursday. soap here's the set up. cold front slowly moves eastward later today chance for scattered showers storms, mainly from about 3:00 to 8:00 this evening. the front clears us a bit for thursday, but then another warmfront moves back northward. that will will just bring new round of some showers storms, later tomorrow afternoon. finally on friday, we clear things out nicely, back to full sunshine. temperatures still warm, at least humidity levels do drop. here is 4:00 in the afternoon see scattered showers potential thunderstorm breaking out specially west of the city. by 8:00, things do start to quiet down. nice dry start to the thursday. but, late in the day here go, another line of some stronger showers and storms, coming in, thursday evening. so i think thursday is the better chance to see some severe storms around the delaware valley, then friday, back to mostly sunny conditions. here's your shore forecast today. i think mainly stay dry. enjoy the beach day 87 degrees, ocean water nice, 74 breeze out of the southwest 10 miles per hour. here we go, the forecast today, clouds will start to increase through the afternoon, few showers maybe thunderstorm, tonight, it is muggy, shower storm early low of around 73 degrees. here we go extended forecast, hot, humid upper zero's today, mid 80s tomorrow, still shower or storm chance, but friday we clear out a lot of sun but stays hot through the weekends. up around 90 degrees, but at least humidity levels not quite as bad as what they are now. >> thank you sir. remember the name, devlin. >> got an eye out for him. >> let's check the sports page phillies have tough task ahead of them in los angeles tonight. they face cy young award winner clay shaw, they have to buckle down and get that guy. but, before we get to the highlight, let's check in with jill schlessinger with your philadelphia job market report. she explains how you can turn a hobby into a career. >> we're celebrating video game day this week. and gamers take note. there may be an opportunity for you to get paid to play. instead of spending pointless hours on your favorite console or device, why not take the interest to the next level and consider a career in the booming video game industry? >> well, obviously jim, this is something that does not happen every day, so there is some concern about what's happening first off, two the new york stock exchange. i talked to a law enforcement source who tells me law enforcement at this time is monitoring the situation but as far as they can tell right now, there were no threats made against the new york stock exchange. so this is a position where they are watching what's happening there, but they have no indication that there was any cyber attack or anything like that right now. of course, we know, with the new york stock exchange is saying, they have released a statement via twitter that they are doing their utmost to produce a swift resolution and going to be providing further updates as soon as they can. they are calling this a technical issue. that's what they are calling it. so, again, no indication right now, according to the law enforcement sources we've spoken with that this is any type of cyber attack. but, obviously, in this day and age where these kinds of attacks happen every day constantly and to some big companies, there is obviously concern and law enforcement is monitoring the situation jim. >> now, let's talk about the grounding of all united flights. the associated press right now is saying the grounding of all united flights is coming to an end. what can you tell us about united? >> well, united told us this is a router issue that they have been dealing with this morning and, as a result of that, there have been hundreds of delays related to what they are calling a router issue and it's throughout the system across the country. so many of these united air lines planes have been grounded passengers have been stuck in airports, and now the situation is sort of working itself out as united gets their computer system up and running once again. but what passengers can expect throughout the rest of the day are these delays as the system gets back to normal. >> jeff, thank you. once again to summarize, all trading on the new york stock exchange has been halted since at 11:30 a.m. eastern time. there is, at this point in indication of any hack, but, of course, a great deal of concern that the stock trading has stopped. however, trades and new york stock exchange issues are being traded on the nasdaq and other exchanges. obviously, this is a story we will be watching all day. we'll bring you the latest as we get it. there will be much more about all of this on your local news and this cbs station and our digital news network cbsn and all devices on cbs news.com and "cbs evening news" with scott pelley. for now, i'm ji >> sharon: hi, sweet girl! oh, mommy missed you so much. >> nick: i know it's short notice. >> sharon: no, that's okay. we're thrilled to get whatever extra time we can. look at you. do you have a meeting?
