Original reporting. And all that matters. The legendary grateful dead is saying goodbye with three shows at chicagos soldier field. They changed the world. On cbs this Morning Saturday. Fourth day of july and welcome to the weekend everyone. Im Anthony Mason with vinita meyer and ben tracie has joined us. Welcome ben. Thanks for having me. Just as impressive and a lot less crowded. And front man for willco for years. And now jeffs formed a band with his teenage son. And they will perform in our saturday session. Our top story, protecting americas birthday without spoiling the party. Security officials are on alert today. Though theres been no specific threat aimed at this july fourth weekend. But there is the possibility of attacks by so called lone wolf terrorists. Mark is in our Washington Bureau with more. The fbi and the Homeland Security have issued a warning through the weekend. Leading to a visible and invisible response at key events. America will celebrate its 239th birthday today on guard. Isis has called for attacks against members of the military Law Enforcement, the u. S. Government and the american public. Yes theres been a lot of chatter. Thats something you have heard all over the country. But there is no specific threat to anywhere that we are aware of right now in the country. It is just that we have to be vigilant. In philadelphia, the birthplace of the declaration of independence the mayor says the city is relying on the joint Operation Center to oversee coordination among officers and the departments. We never let anyone dictate to us how were going to live our lives in. In new york city 7,000 extra officers will be on the streets with radiation detecters in the river and in the area. And thousands expected on the National Mall. Chicago police are working 12 hour shifts. The fbi has set up Coordination Centers around the country can special tsa teams assigned to hubs. I want to ask the people of boston to remain safe and keep your eyes open. Bostons mayor and Police Commissioner said friday the city is on the lookout for attackers who might act on their own. Obviously everyones concerns have been raised because of all the isis activity going around and because of, you know, the merritt bombing. Were just stepping it up just to make sure it can be as secure as possible. And the commissioner added that a lone wolf attack is his Worst Nightmare. Meanwhile recent attacks in france, kuwait and tunisia also highlight american risks to embassies and interests abroad. Thank you. For more on on these terrorism con serms were joined by sean henry. He is in our Washington Bureau. Good morning. Good morning. Is there a specific threat at this time . And why is it if there isnt one that we are responding in the manner that we are . The fbi is saying there is not a specific identified threat, something clearly defined, a target or a particular time. But weve got something else. And you have got to look at three things here that are creating this concern by the u. S. Government. First of all what weve seen globally, in kuwait, in france in tunisia. And even here just recently in texas and in boston where we saw terrorist acts against cartoonist and a man killed by the joint Terrorism Task force just recently. That is the first thing. Secondly what you have got to be thinking about is the proliferation of this jihadi rhetoric through social media. There is this constant barrage people are hearing about, about launching attacks. Going out and taking any action you can on behalf of the brotherhood and this environment is creating concerns. And the third is fbi said you have terrorist investigations ongoing in all 50 states today. So there are people here hearing this message. And the fbi and local Law Enforcement do not have the resources to keep i people under 24 hour surveillance. So you have this tinderbox a perfect storm, if you will. Because we know there are people there who have an interest in harming americans but there are not the resources to keep them in check. You have been in meetings like this like the one they must be having now. What do you think the conversation is sounding like . The fbi is working very closely on the joint Terrorism Task forces and coordinating with the broader intelligence community, cia, nsa, as well as foreign partners who arice icic picking up intelligence. This is all being fed and coordinated in the task forces and also the task forces are working closely with people in the Community Just to look for sign, indications that something may occur. The fbi is absolutely on highest alert. Think do this on a regular basis. They are True Professionals and they are working as closely as they can with these partners to keep america. We always hear if you see something, say something. I imagine that is very much applicable this weekend. Does that go Online Communications as well . That is true. Whether were seeing the is jihadists who are being recruit recruited and radicalized online. And when you have somebody that sees something, a student or someone they work with and sharing information and moving in a matter thats more violent. Not just making political statements. That is protected speech. But looking to make actions and weapons and the like they have to bring that to the attention of Law Enforcement. Because fatty acid ait is a fine line between making a statement and taking action. Let Law Enforcement know. This weekend is already seeing fireworks from mother nature. And some areas are on track for even more. Check out this storm cloud over folly beach in north carolinas outer banks. People e immediately started leaving the florida. And in florida last night lightning over sinnedcinderellas castle. Good morning. Quite a site there in central florida. Along the stationary boundary weve had active weather for parts of arkansas. Were seeing the hail signature show up as those storms track east into the northern parts of mississippi and alabama. The Storm Prediction Center today expects a marginal risk of Severe Weather in the deep south. Otherwise a slight risk perhaps for the dakotas and into nebraska so it t could be a stormy fourth here. Super hot in the western states. Scattered showers in the four corners. And scattered thunderstorms all along the eastern sea board and the gulf coast. Temperatures in the mid 70s for the big cities in the northeast. Otherwise 98 in billings. 90 in seattle. And 94 in orlando. Campaigns for and against the bail out referendum in greece have stopped today as people there prepare for tomorrows vote on the countrys future in europe. 10s of thousands of people rallied across greece on friday. On both sides of the issue polls show a dead heat. The votes decide whether the greek government will accept the strict terms of europes financial bail out for the countrys collapsing of the economy. Jonathan is there with the latest. The greeks are at a major cross rods. If they vote yes they will likely face more taxes and pension cuts. If they vote know and demand a better deal there is possibility the country could exit from the euro. Picking up Campaign Posters from last nights string of rallies. People at last nights yes rallies worry voting no will lead to an exit for the euro. Im here because im european. Where else aim supposed to go . And Alexy Tsipras is against the bail out because it offers no debt relief for the country that owes 268 billion. He told last night that greece wants to stay in the euro zone. We are not only decided simply to stay in europe. We are decided to live with dignity in europe. Dignity has been hard to find for many since greece allowed the terms of its old bail out package to expire and fail to agree on a new bail out on tuesday. As a result the condition country missed a key debt payment. Long lines continue outside atms where withdraws are rationed. Many pensioners still cant cash checks. And in image of a distressed elderly man has become a symbol in greece of pain. Tsipras called for the vote last weekend while distill in the middle of negotiating a better bail out package. And negotiations pretty much came to a halt after the vote was called. On the eve of tomorrows referendum, the rhetoric as you can imagine has been dialed up. Greeces finance minister has accused cred edd creditors of terrorism. There is growing controversy this morning over the murder of a young woman at the busy San Francisco tourist demonstration one that is sparking debate over immigration. Kate was shot and killed while walking with her father and a friend. A man suspected in the murder Francisco Sanchez has 7 felony convictions and has been deported five times, most recently in 2009. He had served his town but immigration officials wanted him back in their custody so he could be deported. They asked them to notify if he got out of jail. But the city did not do it. The city does not help unless required by a warrant. And a crash of a medical helicopter in the rockies. Taken off from the town of frisco, about 70 miles west of denver on friday, when it crashed in a parking lot and burst into planes. The pilot was killed. A legal fight under way over fracking in oklahoma. The States Supreme Court ruled home owners can now sue oil and Gas Companies for damages caused by tremors. In 2008 the state just averaged one magnitude cake per decade. But in the past six years it has risen sharply. Cbs news legal analyst rickie is here with more. Good morning. Is this a game changer . No question about it. I do think so. And i think so really passionately. Because whats happened here is most of these cases if they ever got filed would go before a commission. And in oklahoma it was called the Oklahoma Corporation commission. The commission could not compensate someone for damages, either for injury or for property. What they could do was regulate oil and gas. And when this case originally went to court, the District Court said as many other District Courts have said, case dismissed. You are in the wrong place. Dont come to the courthouse. Why is this a game changer . This case opened the courthouse doors not only when looking at this plaintiff sandra ladra but potentially for other states. They have a big task ahead of them. It is daunting. And i do think that what you are dealing with is a very smart lawyer who has also set the bar very high. So hes saying this isnt a slam dunk. It may see that way. However it is in the olded a adage of where there is smoke there is fire. Were not looking at fracking. I want to make that clear. What were saying is it is the High Pressure water disposal wells. And what happens here is what he has to do as her attorney is show this company, in this case two companies. It is these companies and their wells. The science is becoming abundantly clear. It is growing and youing. Growing. And what we look at with science is when something seemed to be just a supposition at one time over time gets proven. So what here he is saying is there is enough proof and the scientists will say, he claims that the Waste Disposal is what causes these earthquakes. It is manmade. However how do you pinpoint it to a specific well . That is the real crux of the problem. How hard is it going to be able to find impartial juries. In oklahoma a lot of people work in the oil and gas industry. It is fascinating to me. At first blush when i really studied this i said these jurors are going to give these plaintiffs and by the way the second chase which it opens up to could be a class action case worth tens of millions of dollars. That the jurors are going to say well of course. If we even look at the oklahoma website, the government website it talks about seismic activity earthquake activity being caused by this problem. However you hit the nail on the head. One in five people in oklahoma has employment from oil and gas. So there is a thing about the balance in the mind of a juror. Am i looking at the economy of my state . Am i looking at my welfare . Or do i just want damages . The moral of this story is this. Settle settle settle. Yeah. If they had done that in the beginning it would have been 75,000 worth of injury damage. 110,000 worth of personal damage. And now look at what were doing. Weve really added that word to our vocabulary settle settle settle. Thank you very much. And happy fourth. Now in world cup soccer.
