KU Nursing Students Conduct Temperature Checks to Support Pediatric Patients
Several Keiser University Daytona Beach campus Nursing Program students recently volunteered to do temperature checks and ticket scanning at the Daytona 500 ‘Speedweek’ events to benefit pediatric patients.
Director of Student Services Lynne Carr and Nursing Instructor Marilene Lacson, the group was thankful for the opportunity to donate their wages to support The Betty Jane France Pediatric Center at Halifax Health which is also known as ‘Speediatrics.’
Designed with the idea of caring for the whole family, Speediatrics rooms are brightly decorated with a NASCAR racing them, and create a cheerful and reassuring environment for pediatric patients and their family members. Speediatrics cares for more than 2,000 children each year, including those in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
