The president of Sonoma State University has been placed on administrative leave after sending an unapproved campus wide message saying the school had reached an agreement with propalestinian protesters. In that letter, president mike lee wrote that sonoma state would participate in an academic boycott with israeli universities, including reassessing study abroad programs in israel. It also says the school will review its investments. The chancellor of the cal State University system saying the message was sent without the appropriate approvals. She added i want to acknowledge how deeply concerned i am about the impact the statement has had on the sonoma state community, and how challenging and painful it will be for many of our students and Community Members to see and read. The districts proposed ordinance 24 would establish protection zones along the 295 miles of waterways under its control, and would ban encampments and dumping trash penalties could include 500 fines and up to 30 days in jail for violators who return and reestablish encampments.
