Its just the latest in the number of demonstrations at College Campuses in the wake of the war between hamas and israel. Gatherings like these are testing the limits of ee speech on some College Campuses. Ktvu zac sos reports now on how schools are responding. To be free as a propalestine rally wound its way through uc berkeleys campus monday afternoon, students with starkly different views on the conflict speaking out. Weve been oppressed for 70 plus years. We want peace and we want israel to be able to defenitself from terrorism. The demonstration just the latest from both sides to take place at a Bay Area University and campuses nationwide. Pro israel rally sparked by this months deadly attack by hamas militants, soon followed by propalestine marches ahead of israels planned ground offensive in gaza. Im always free palestine since the beginning. I feel like berkeley. They allow us to hear our voice. Everybodys very listening. Rallies that have increasingly put University Administrators under pressure from students like simone bailin to confront an unjust question how far free speech should go . This is not political. I want to make that extremy clear. Theres a place for being neutral in political conflicts, but this is blatant terrorism. Just this week, uc berkeley chancellor carol christ penning a letter to the campus saying in part, quote, we decry any calls for violence in any form or support for terrorism. As we continue to mourn the loss of innocent life. But christ also acknowledging a need to preserve open debate on campus, posting a joint message from two professors with opposing views on the conflict who noted, quote, disagreement and differing points of view are an essential part of campus life. And we expect that you treat one another with the same respect and dignity that we are modeling here. I think thats generally the right take. Like College Campuses are supposed to be the place where you can have any university. Flope says, the allows students like him with perhaps differing perspectives to feel comfortable weighing in. I empathize a lot with palestinians. I have a lot of palestinian friends. I just think the inability to condemn what hamas did last week, its so clearly horrific what they did in berkeley. A prohamas rally. Jenkins says she only meant to condemn anti semitic graffiti that was spray painted on some downtown windows during the march. Members of the muslim and arab communities say jenkins deleted posts claimed without evidence that the graffiti was associated stated with hamas. Jenkins has posted a response on x. It says in part, quote, i listened and understand their concerns and as a result deleted the tweet. And so the trough right there down tre on the bay area right now, that those clouds that came through this afternoon, temperatures today cooled a few degrees and then you see the ridge building and see that that bump going up over into seattle, everything going up over the top that lasts through thursday. And thats when the heat is wednesday and thursday, the warmest days of the week. Pretty big ridge of High Pressure with the bulls eye right over the bay area and then it breaks down on friday. See the clouds coming in and then saturday. So a much cooler friday, saturday and sunday, and even a ltle bit into monday as a trough reestablishes itself. So the bottom line here is its a warm up for sure, but is it its not a protracted heat wave. These were the highs from today. These will be the a c. n lose to the hs tomorrow, a little bit warmer. And so well grab a degree or two more each day as we go through this. The next 72 hours outside, weve got fog. Its at the golden gate bridge. Its along the avenues. Itll be just right around the park. Its going to hang out around 19th avenue. Its not going to get that far inland tonight, but tomorrow, more sunshine warmer wednesday day, sunshine, a little bit warmer. Thursday, the warmest day of the week. And then friday it starts to cool down as that system gets closer to. So heres the model for tomorrow morning. Look at the valley fog to you. See that white strip cing up the Central Valley . Thats valley fog. Its that time of year. And weve got temperatures that are going to be in the valley. Thatll be in the mid 80s as well, which is pretty typical for this time of year. So i said it like four different ways, right . Were basically going to warm up the next few days and then were going to cool down pretty significantly as we head into the weekend and to early next week, maybe a little bit of rain in the north to the north of us. There are the forecast highs for tomorrow. Theres the fog back along the coast and these are the highs forecast for tom
