The Team Includes 22 firefighters, 5 engines, and a pickup truck. Alameda sent two strike leaders while four engines. Cal fire said it has grown to 1 1 2 square miles with 0 containment. The fire is threatening at least one dozen homes and forced the evacuation of several neighborhoods. Fire crews on the coast of Monterey County remain on high alert following a string of fires in the big sur area. Investigators say illegal campfires are to blame for at least four fires along highway one mac. Firefighters have an Important Message to the people who have plans to visit big sur this summer. Please dont come to big sur and have a campfire on the shore in a designated campsite. Firefighters say they are tied to a longterm problem in the big sur area.
